Engine Stall On All Cars! Desperate Situation for the Giant Robo!! (全車エンスト!巨大ロボ絶体絶命!! Zensha Ensuto! Kyodai Robo Zettai Zetsumei!!) is the forty-second episode of Gekisou Sentai Carranger. It is part 2 of the Christmas showdown with the three Bowzock mecha and Dapp's capture by the Bowzock, further revealing the origins of the demolition gang.

Synopsis[]

With Dapp captured by Exhaus and the Bowzock, the Carranger discover the truth regarding the source of their powers from VRV Master and attempt to hold on against the evil mechs with the limited energy they have left.

Plot[]

Dappu has a dream of seeing his father for Christmas as a gift from Santa for being a good boy as he states he wants to eat his Christmas Cake; but the dream fades away as he wakes up in the cage in the Baribarian by Zelmoda and Grotch, stating he was annoying yelling out for his dad over and over. Dappu states he can escape at any time and begins to use a Carmagic spell, but Zelmoda creates bindings with his fingers as Grotch states they need to finish him off now and the others show desire to kill him. Zonnette and Gynamo appear as the female complains about her torment in Sky Gigune but the Bowzock leader states it isn't his fault as she stares at the Earth.

On the surface, Kyosuke yells out for Dappu as he meets with Yoko as they wonder where he ran off to. They meet up with the rest who also can't find him; Minoru wonders if they said too much as VRV Master appears stating "if you can solve a problem without crying, then you don't need a lawyer". The team is surprised by his return and wonder where he's been but the mystery man states its not important asks about Dappu as they reveal he's gone missing, shocking the being as Kyosuke states they had a fight over a small thing and Natsumi reveals the flyers thrown through the city of the Hazardian reunion. VRV Master states it's a lie and rips it apart stating Dappu is the only survivor of Hazard; Naoki wonders what he means by that as the mystery alien states it's fake news to lure Dappu out, thus it was a Bowzock trap.

On the Baribarian, Dappu is tied up to an "execution machine" that Grotch turns on, being a pendulum blade that swings back and forth towards the small alien. Gynamo hopes he goes to heaven while Zelmoda states he'll meet his dad there as the alien despairs until the blade is suddenly stopped by Exhaus, who reveals Dappu is needed to defeat the Carranger! Gynamo complains about the giant constantly bossing them around, but Exhaus once again brings up the "lifetime free pass" to his space highway; the president relents as the giant orders Grotch back to Earth in Marine Zaboon.

The Carranger despair worrying about Dappu and what they need to do as VRV Master guesses Dappu is still alive and at the Bowzock base; Natsumi wonders if he's right but the alien states that if the Bowzock are targeting Dappu, then Exhaus must be behind it as Kyosuke figures out from Zonnette's warning; VRV Master states Exhaus is targeting the Carmagic Power. At the same time, a ship is attacked by Marine Zaboon firing missiles as it rises from the water; the ship calls mayday but gets blown up as the Carranger are forced into duty; with not even VRV Master stopping their transformation, yelling "true warrior must listen to the end of the speech!" stopping the heroes. Kyosuke states they'll beat the Bowzock and save Dappu as they rush off, the team immediately forming into VRV Robo. Grotch sees the team as Exhaus tells him to fight with Marine Zaboon and drain VRV Robo's energy; which the scientist follows as he fights them and fires a fin blade towards the mecha slicing into them before ramming into VRV Robo throwing it into the water. Beneath the surface, Grotch continues to attack with Marine Zaboon's power ramming it as the Carranger worry about their ability to fight underwater and their energy starts to drain rapidly. Marine Zaboon keeps ramming as VRV Robo loses energy; Kyosuke desperately decides to fire V-Fire's Hose at full power, blasting it towards the ground and raising VRV Robo to the surface but with Marine Zaboon rising likewise and firing missiles to paralyze it. But the evil mecha is soon greeted by Sirender punching it as Signalman states they can't defeat Carranger without permission, while apologizing to the heroes for being late due to a lecture at the Shachihoko Traffic Safety Center in Nagoya and just returning now to help. VRV Robo staggers away as Naoki wonders how they're suddenly losing energy in VRV Robo; VRV Master appears on screen warning them they should have listened to the end.

On the Baribarian, Dappu struggles to open the door within his closet he's stuck in as he discovers multiple New Years greeting cards sent to Gynamo! One of them: a "Lucky Fortune by Suahxe" stating they'd be blessed with fortune by destroying planets, in particularly any planet that begins with "Ha". Dappu realizes that it's due to this card that they ended up attacking Planet Hazard to begin with; he wonders who "Suahxe" is until he realizes that "it's Exhaus spelled backwards!", realizing that the evil overlord was the one behind Hazard's destruction and the death of his parents making the alien break down and cry. Dappu realizes crying won't help at all and stops.

At Carranger base, the team asks VRV Master what's going on; the mystery man states all Carranger machines run on Carmagic Power, the magic of dreams; in other words, the power is created by the bond between the five and Dappu! AS Minoru asks what it means, VRV Master states that due to their argument, Dappu's heart is shaken and in doubt which is why Carmagic Power isn't reaching VRV Robo or RV Robo. Kyosuke notices Dappu's Christmas plans as the team look through it, discovering the alien's plans and the crossed out photo; Yoko wonders if Dappu wanted a Christmas party with them as Naoki realizes they were idiots for not noticing. Kyosuke states crying won't resolve anything, but Natsumi wonders what will: Red Racer asks VRV Master as the Lone Wolf of the Universe to save Dappu for them since the alien is in space and thus they need him to do it for them, soon being pleaded by all the Carranger. VRV Master claims this is a selfish request and asks them what they'll do while he's trying to rescue Dappu; Kyosuke states they'll do whatever they need to; Minoru adding they'll use whatever energy they have to defeat Marine Zaboon with their mecha as the others agree. VRV Master agrees stating it isn't a bad idea as the team decide to head out, VRV Master stating as they leave "they became more like true warriors while he was gone". The alien soon teleports, heading into space after Dappu.

The Carranger soon return to battle using RV Robo and the Yellow Vehicle Spin Kick to hit Marine Zaboon as Kyosuke states they will save Dappu.

At the BB Saloon, Gynamo and Zelmoda notice the fire alarm going off as others slice open the door Dappu was locked in, allowing the little alien to sneak out. He soon heads to the Bowzock vehicles but is stopped by Zelmoda and Gynamo who wonder who he is as they realize they knew what he was up to as Dappu bites Gynamo's finger and headbutts Zelmoda before rushing away. Zelmoda summons the Wumpers as Dappu tries to avoid and fight hem off handling them with sufficiency only for the general to hit Dappu from behind knocking him down and puts a sword to him. Gynamo decides to defy Exhaus and kill Dappu right there as Zelmoda brings his blade upwards, only to have it knocked from his hand by a mystery disk allowing for Dappu to escape. Dappu notices it as coffee milk cap as Gynamo and Zelmoda send Wumpers in after him only for them to be thrown down, making Zelmoda wonder who he is as VRV Master introduces himself to them. Gynamo remembers him as the alien who bought the fruit drop candy at the pachinko bar when he was on "Earsh", shocking Dappu as he remembered they smell like "Planet Hazard". VRV Master states it's time for "Shura-Shu-Shu-Shu" and throws him something, revealing more coffee milk caps; Zelmoda tells the Wumpers to go after them as Dappu throws the caps at Gynamo and Zelmoda, confusing them while the masked figure defeats the Wumpers.

On Earth, Sirender holds off Marine Zaboon while Kyosuke laments they don't have much energy left in RV Robo and must hurry, summoning RV Sword but being stabbed by the evil mecha.

On the Baribarian, Dappu and VRV Master defeat the Wumpers as the masked figure tells Dappu to head back to Earth and not to worry about a "ordinary passing-by alien". However Dappu states he isn't an "ordinary passing-by alien" if he knows of "Shura Shu Shu Shu", Dappu stating it's a technique came up by his father! VRV Master forces Dappu into the Bowzock car as he gets shot by Zelmoda's sword, the masked alien throwing a coffee milk cap to open the escape hatch as Zelmoda shoots a beam at them to prevent escape, the vehicle with both heroic aliens barley getting out shocking the villains. In space, Dappu calls VRV Master "Papa" as the duo are suddenly confronted by the massive Exhaus who wonders if they can get away as he fires lightning beams at them and pursues them with great speed. VRV Master asks his son if he loves justice which Dappu states he does and then asks if he has confidence to dream no matter how hard life is; further stating that if he shares the same dream with his friends, there is no limit to Carmagic Power as he teleports away, Dappu calling out to his dad as he slams into Exhaus, the young alien crying about how short their reunion was has he calls for his father and flies back towards Earth, angering Exhaus.

In the battle, RV Robo's power is down to 25% as Kyosuke worries if they can fight anymore without Dappu as Marine Zaboon fires missiles at it and Sirender.
