The Reckless Dash Emperor's Frightful Fuel Check (暴走皇帝戦慄の燃料チェック Bōsō Kōtei Senritsu no Nenryō Chekku) is the forty-first episode of Gekiso Sentai Carranger. It is the start of a three-part Christmas arc featuring three new mecha created for the Bowzock and a personal crisis for Dapp.
Synopsis[]
As the Carranger make Christmas plans, Dapp tries to figure out how to spend it with his "family" while Exhaus starts targeting him due to his connection to the team's Carmagic.
Plot[]
At the BB Saloon on the Baribarian, a diagram of the Universal Space Highway Project appears surprising Gynamo as Exhaus finally reveals his project to them, the giant stating it's a highway of the Bowzock, by the Bowzock and for all Bowzock, making Zelmoda and Grotch confused. Exhaus states that with the help of the Bowzock in completing it, he will give them all free lifetime passes to use it, exciting the thugs as the leader states that to get them, the Carranger must be defeated at all cost!
On Earth, Natsumi discovers a Christmas tree going up showing it off as they realize the time of year. Minoru realizes he hadn't bought any presents yet for his parents; Natsumi says likewise but Yoko states she's finished her shopping, Naoki realizes how devoted she is but Yoko states it cause she'd get a present in return, expecting something huge. However without warning, a huge box falls nearby; the Pegasus workers rush towards it as they discover it as a "Christmas Present to the Carranger"; Minoru stating it's suspicious as Goki-chan pops out of it! Minoru kicks the Bowzock "present" as "II Goki-chan" stare it down, realizing they faced it before but Natsumi noticing it's lips are now bigger. II Goki-chan tries to hit them but Kyosuke distracts it into looking in another direction as the five run off to transform into the Carranger to face it. The heroes fight it as it kisses Natsumi, draining her power making her weak without warning and making her unable to stand up! II Goki-chan starts fighting Yoko until Kyosuke hits it away telling it to find someone else to kiss; making it perform a similar distraction trick to hit and eventually kiss Red Racer, weakening him as well! The roach monster soon weakens the other Rangers one after another with ease, shocking Dappu back at base as he prays to his amulet, suddenly reaching them as they're repowered and making Natsumi and Yoko hit him, followed by Naoki and Minoru before Kyosuke punches it away and shoots it with the Navic Blaster, forcing it to fly away.
Back at the base, Goki-chan return defeated as Grotch shows disappointment that it's failed even with it's energy-sucking lips installed, making Zelmoda attempt to squash him and even Gynamo states he was a fool to trust it. Exhaus states it was still a success because the Bowzock are one step closer to finding out the secret to Carmagic; confusing the thus as Exhaus states that the energy device was able to suck Carmagic out of the Carranger but the team was able to regain their strength somehow, making Exhaus realize that there is someone providing the power, a "sixth Carranger" supporting the team behind the scenes! Zelmoda reasons it may be the Hazardian Dappu, shocking Exhaus that a Hazardian would survive and states that if he's captured, it would be easy to stop the Carranger as Zonnette shows doubt looking over her "exchange diary" she received from her sister
At Pegasus Garage, the team is complaining about the Bowzock Christmas present weakening them but state that its' too early for Christmas. Dappu asks the humans what their Christmas plans are, all of them replying their going to go home and party with their families, shocking the alien as they state they always spend their holiday with their families as he hides his own Christmas plans with the team as the Carranger tell him he has to watch the garage during that time; Minoru even states he'll rush back from Osaka if the Bowzock appear during that time. Dappu states it's unacceptable and that superheroes must spend Christmas together, Natsumi wonders who said that as the alien states it's a rule since long ago, calling the team selfish. Kyosuke wonders how Dappu could say that with them looking forward to this for a long time; making the alien rush off before wishing them a "Merry Christmas". On his own, Dappu looked over his own plans for a Christmas party with his friends, thinking of their fun times and food together as he crosses it out while throwing it away. He states he wishes he had family to spend Christmas with but his mother died in the Bowzock attack on Hazard; he also states his father was on a trip them but due to Hazard's explosion, he possibly was killed as well as he thinks about their passing. As he thinks of them, a customer at an alien barbershop sneezes and apologizes, revealing it to be VRV Master as he tells the barber that someone was talking about him in the universe as he pays up and tells the barber to keep the change.
Near the Baribarian, Exhaus presents the Bowzock with "champions of the land, sea and sky" to defeat the Carranger, pointing to the moon as he reveals three giant mecha. He tells them to first send "Sky Gigune" to "Earsh"; Zelmoda tells the giant to just send them all at once, but Exhaus tells them to follow his plan to defeat the Carranger. Picking up her diary in worry, Zonnette perks up and volunteers to head out in the mecha; Gynamo states it's too dangerous for her as the female drives her Zonnecar into Sky Gigune, flying towards the planet.
On Earth, Dappu wanders stating he doesn't care about the Carranger's plans and he'll just enjoy Christmas on his own. He discovers a Christmas cake as a mother comes with her daughter as they decide to order a cake with Santa on it, making Dappu look at it. At the base, Kyosuke notices Dappu isn't around as he discovers the alien's Christmas plans until the alarm goes off, being Sky Gigune flying towards them. As she approaches, Exhaus tells Zonnette to hit the red button, which emits a strange flyer through the city by it's beak. Dappu discovers it being a news flyer stating that Hazardian survivors are gathering on "Earsh", shocking him. Zonnette flies past Mt. Fuji discovering it as pretty, but is soon confronted by VRV Robo and the Carranger telling her to get down and surprising the female. Removing the Zonnecar, Zonnette heads to the ground as the other Carranger tell Red Racer to go down and talk to her and wishing him luck. On the surface, Kyosuke approaches Zonnette as she gives him the diary Radietta gave her, telling him to read it as she wondered if they wanted to exchange diaries.
In space, Exhaus states he's going to discover the Carranger's weakness as he takes over Sky Gigune, making the Zonnecar fly off beyond Zonnette's control and shocking Kyosuke as he tries to stop it and is thrown off! The Zonnecar becomes bound to Sky Gigune as it spins causing a windstorm blowing around VRV Robo while firing lasers at them! Kyosuke worries about Zonnette as Yoko wonders if they're fighting again but Red Racer denies it while the team tell him to focus. Zonnette falls unconscious from the spinning as Sky Gigune flies up and around VRV Robo, smashing into it. Stating it's time to head to the next stage, Exhaus summons Marine Zaboon driven by Grotch as it flies from the Moon to Earth.
On Earth, Dappu states that the newspaper he was sent is known for their fake headlines and he won't fall for it, stating it can't be true. But he turns around wondering if it really is true, wondering that if his father survived Hazard's destruction, they could have a Christmas party together, imagining his father being with him and giving him a present. Dappu decides to see if it's true or not. The Carranger continue to have problems with Sky Gigune as they call for Dappu's advice, the team worried about where he is during the emergency. Elsewhere, Dappu arrives at the pavilion where the Hazardian reunion is to take place, putting on sunglasses to be more obscure. He asks a janitor about the headline and whether it's true, but is stared down and surrounded by a crowd before they vanish, shocking him. Without warning, Marine Zaboon emerges from the sea with a cage, trapping him within and picking him up, Grotch excited at his catch as Dappu yells that it was a trap! On another world, VRV Master suddenly drops his winnings at a pachinko bar, becoming worried.
Meanwhile, Sky Gigune picks up VRV Robo and flies it into the sky, shocking the Carranger before it's dropped into a mountain! The evil mecha then fires beams shooting down the mecha as it's energy decreases as Exhaus predicted, making him call his weapon back to base. Sky Gigune flies off as Zonnette remains unconscious shocking Kyosuke, while Minoru reads through her diary shocking Red Racer as he points at him to read a certain part written by Zonnette: "Exhaus is targeting the Carmagic Power!" In space, Marine Zaboon flies off with Dappu as the alien cries out, Exhaus laughing manically.

- This episode was due to be broadcast on the 6th of December 1996, but it was pre-empted by news coverage of the Kanbarazawa Mud Slide Disaster. The episode instead aired the following week, as part of a double bill with Episode 42. This unexpected pre-emption due to major news events would again happen in 2011 and 2015.
