Ep. 40: I am a King and a Prince (我は王で王子なり Ware wa Ō de Ōjinari) is the fortieth episode of Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger. It features the return of Daigoro Kiryu since his last appearance in episode 33 and the revelation of Gira's origin.
Synopsis[]
While Shugodom is in trouble and the kings are too battered to move, Prince rushes in from Earth! Gira is happy to see Prince, who saved him. Then, Rcules suddenly appears...? Will Rcules' prophecy that "Chikyu will be destroyed by Gira" come true? Will Gira really become "evil"?
Plot[]
Rcules discusses his plan to make humanity tear each other apart with Dagded, saying that it will all fall by Gira's hand. The monarchs are rushed to Ishabana due to the recoil of power from the Flashing Fang. Duga calls, asking for the Ohsama Sentai as Shugodom is attacked by Sanagim corpses. Duga is saved by Gabutyra and the beast roars, attracting Plezuon to its location. Gira awakens and despite warnings from Cleo, removes himself from bed.
The battle against the corpses continues with Gira joining shortly, telling Duga to evacuate the people. Gira begins to struggle to move but thankfully Prince joins the battle and finds Gabutyra. Prince teases Gira for being knocked down so easily but this allows Gira to push through the pain. Prince then transforms to King Kyoryu Red, and the red heroes beat the corpses together but more grow giant and surprisingly, instead of helping stop the monsters, the Shugods attack Shugodom.
Gira is shocked and the citizens in fear upon seeing the other countries' Shugods plus the Bug Naraku attacking their kingdom. King Kyoryuzin is formed to bring the Shugods back to their senses. Prince manages to beat the giant corpses and later, Gira and Prince catch up which ends Prince hugging Gira and leaving with Gabutyra. The other monarchs still injured are questioning how Gira seems relatively fine while they're in bandages, worried that Gira may do whatever with their countries as he pleases but Gira denies that and accidently causes harm to everyone.
Gira tells the rest that the Shugods weren't themselves earlier, assuming Dagded was behind it. The monarchs suggest Gira talks to them and heeding their advice, Gira talks with Kuwagon. He apologizes for being hard on the Shugods but then an announcement from Rcules and Dagded appears before the world. Rcules then reveals himself to the world, saying that with Dagded's assistance, he plans to take down Gira. He then reveals a shocking truth... Gira is the son and creation of Dagded, catching everyone off-guard.
Gira is angered as Rcules continues his revelation that Gira was created as a gift to the kings of Shugodom for their loyalty, a tool to defeat mankind's enemy. However, after defeating the Bug Naraku, he as well as the Ohsama Sentai turned their sights on humanity to be brought down next. Rcules and Dagded tell the citizens that the Shugods acting wildly was Gira's doing, a power inherited from Dagded, thus showing that his control over Shugods was due to this power. It's not long that the citizens turn on Gira while Boone and Kogane defend him.
Gira is upset and Dagded manipulates Gira's body to forcefully summon King-Ohger and ruin his reputation. God King-Ohger causes mayhem along with more Bug Naraku corpses as Rcules pretends to be the hero more. Gira falls on his knees and Dagded appears, warning the citizens to run before mocking Gira. Gira's silence and despair brings joy to Dagded but God King-Ohger suddenly stops listening to Dagded. The will of the Shugods refuse to obey Dagded, making the OhgerCaliburs glow. The other monarchs rise from their beds and Dagded gets increasingly angry at the Shugods' defiance.
The monarchs are proud at the Shugod's defiance, wanting to help them fight the Uchu King as they remove their bandages. King-Ohger beats the Bug Naraku corpses and Gira warns Dagded that the Ohsama Sentai will crush him where he is.

The eye of the emblem is black
- During King Kyoryu Red's rollcall, the eye on the dinosaur emblem on his chest is colored fully black instead of having a green eye likely due to it clashing with the green screen on set.
