Crisis!! The Secret of Super-Power (危機！！超力の秘密 Kiki!! Chōriki no Himitsu) is the third episode of Choriki Sentai Ohranger. This episode gives back-story regarding the Super-Power that was ultimately used by U.A.O.H. to create the Ohranger squadron.
Synopsis[]
Gorou must protect a boy targeted by Prince Buldont for being associated with the means that lead to the discovery of Superpower in the modern age.
Plot[]
As another Baranoia saucer makes its descent to Earth, the Ohrangers are alerted on the next attack on Tokyo and head out to their Thunderwings to meet the assault. The saucer releases one Machine Beast, Bara Vanish, which immediately disappeared while the saucer left the planet, Goro telling them to split up and find the threat.
At that moment by a lake, a boy is being pelted by snowballs when he notices something in the snow, discovering a crystal that he puts in a hidden pouch. He's soon found and held by Bara Vanish as Goro heads to meet the Machine Beast on his bike, smashing into the threat and telling the boy to go to safety. Bara Vanish soon disappears and drags Goro into a metal pole before throwing it to the ground, surprising OhRed of his ability as he's continued to be assaulted. Yuji notices the enemy attack but a squad of Takonpas assaults forcing the others to fire missiles against it. Goro is tossed away as the boy is taken by Bara Vanish, with OhRed slamming a car into the Machine Beast and telling the boy to get inside forcing them to get away while it pursues. It soon climbs on top of the car and attacks the roof, grabbing the boy as Goro drives forcing him to grab at the assaulting hand while driving erratically into the curb until the vehicle flips over and falls to the ground, pinning Bara Vanish as the duo rush to safety before being shot at by more Takonpas and forcing them into a tunnel.
Goro attempts to contact headquarters but gets no response, making him wonder if Baranoia is trying to isolate them. Finding out the boy's name is Kenichi Matsumoto, Goro tells him that Baranoia is after him and asks why trying to figure it out but the boy has no idea why. The duo hide as more Takonpas fly by, forcing them to escape.
At base, Momo tries to contact Goro but fails a response, OhPink acknowledging Baranoia's jamming waves through the Kanto region and all radio functions down as Shohei and Yuji are also lost in contact. Miura acknowledges Baranoia is probably after the child while asking Juri why as she searches a computer, as she wonders as well why it's after a child. In the skies, Shohei and Yuji keep searching.
On the [[Moon], Buldont yells at Acha for not finding the child, but Hysteria wonders why Kenichi would know about Choriki; but the boy machine states he did a thorough investigation. Bacchus Wrath states if they can unlock the secrets of Choriki, they'll discover a weak point and use it to stop the Ohrangers and take Earth.
In the tunnel, Goro tries to comfort Kenichi but the boy wonders if the machines will take over the Earth and if humanity will die in the process. Opening his pouch, he pulls out the strange stone and grasps it, stating to Goro he and his father found it in a river; remembering how his father states it was larger and rougher until it was hit back and forth by the river as it flowed downstream to become small and round. The father states that when looking at the rock, he wonders if it was alive or encountered a fish or fell down a waterfall to meet them; thus is the case of all life on Earth working hard to survive. Goro asks where Kenichi's father works, and he responds at a District Forest Office protecting the mountains and trees but he died in an accident two years ago, making Goro acknowledge he was a good father and gave good advice about how they have to work to survive and how he has to do just that to protect to Earth. But while comforting him, Goro continues to wonder why Kenichi is being targeted by Baranoia. The duo are soon found by Baro Soldiers, forcing them to run from the machine soldiers.
At UAOH base, Juri discovers the information on Kenichi, Miura noting he found a fragment of the Super Civilization's ruin. The colonel adds that three years ago, a man sent him fragments that his son had found with ancient writing, which was part of the equation to create Choriki! Realizing it was special, Miura excavated the area and used it to find the Super Civilization's ruins and to put together the fragments of a slate that helped them devise the means to create Choriki. Juri states that Kenichi was seven at the time and would not have known about what it was; with Momo adding he wouldn't even remember if he did it three years prior and that attacking him is fruitless. However, Miura states that the nature of human memory is that if you forget something, it can remain in your mind; even trivial information can be recovered through hypnosis. Momo wonders if Baranoia will use science to steal Kenichi's memory of Choriki as Miura acknowledges they need to protect Kenichi and protect the Choriki equation, sending the girls into the field.
Goro and Kenichi run into an abandoned building where Bara Vanish spots them, firing a beam forcing them to continue to run deeper within. The duo run up a scaffolding as Bara Vanish searches, plodding back and forth appearing and disappearing at will, making Goro realizes it uses the sun to turn itself invisible! A saucer teleports Buldont and several Baro, the prince asking where the boy is before firing a beam at Kenichi and Goro and telling the Machine Beast to get it. Bara Vanish fires on the duo as they rush outside to escape as the Baro continue to pursue. Transforming, Goro continues to protect Kenichi as the other Ohrangers arrive and join him in battle against the minions, Momo telling Kenichi to hide. The Ohrangers soon summon their weapons and fight off the Baro on the ruined plant with ease. The team soon confronts Bara Vanish who disappears and attacks the Ohrangers without knowing where it is before capturing Kenichi. Shohei informs Goro of Baranoia's action as Buldont confirms it, stating that Bara Vanish has the ability to extract the memories of the Choriki information via its Navel Cord Technique, which it implants a helmet on the boy's head to extract his memories of three years prior! However as the boy writhes in pain, Goro shoots his Star Riser at the central core of Bara Vanish, damaging it before stabbing it with his Star Riser and the others join with the King Blaster and he shoots it further with the King Smasher, knocking it to the ground below. As the team comforts Kenichi, they leap to the ground smashing it with their weapons before destroying Bara Vanish with the Big Bang Buster. Angered, Buldont goes home with the mission a failure.
On the Moon, Bacchus tries to attack his son for the failure, stating that without the means of Bara Vanish's ability to read memories, they will use all of Baranoia's science to destroy the Choriki Squadron.
Back on Earth, Kenichi thanks Goro for rescuing him as OhRed tells him Baranoia may attack again and they'll continue to protect him until the machines are gone from Earth, desiring to eliminate them as soon as possible.
