I Love Roads!! The Space Pet (道路好き好き！！宇宙ペット Dōro Suki suki!! Uchū Petto) is the thirty-ninth episode of Gekiso Sentai Carranger.
Synopsis[]
Naoki adopts a space creature intended by Exhaus and the Bowzock to be used to eat away all of the roads of Earth.
Plot[]
Exhaus speaks of how amazing "Earsh"'s highways are and states to expand his space highways, he's going to use them, stating that he will take them in a manner he always does. Summoning Gynamo, Exhaus orders him to take "Earsh's" highways and bring them to space; Grotch states they hate manual labor but the giant tells them to use "Beager", which he will deliver to the planet via space delivery service.
Later on the planet, Grotch chases after a package floating via balloons through the city, trying but constantly missing the content. The package ends up on the sign for Pegasus Garage discovered by Yoko wondering what it is; Natsumi notices that the package states it's 'perishable' and Minoru adds they need to open it right away so it won't rot. Kyosuke tells them its their responsibility to take anything suspicious found outside to the police which Naoki agrees with; but the package suddenly shakes as Blue Racer rips it open, revealing a small yellow bunny-eared creature with rotten teeth, frightening nearly everyone as Naoki pulls it out and calls it adorable!
On the Baribarian, Exhaus punishes Grotch stating that it was the last of it's species, shocking the Bowzock as the giant states the Beager love concrete which is why Exhaus used them to eat away support pillars of highways, but most of the Beagers have died due to him overworking the creatures, leaving the one on Earth as the last one! Gynamo sympathizes with the pain of the Beager as Exhaus states the environment of "Earsh" can multiply a Beager into ten-thousand, telling Bowzock to find it at all cost as he leaves! Grotch gripes Exhaus should have sent the Beager to the Baribarian in the first place as Gynamo decides to use Bowzock's best animal trainer, CC Patchoone, to get the Beager back.
At the Carranger base, Naoki pleads to keep the Beager but Dappu warns him he has to be careful with unknown space creatures and tells him to put him in a cage to quarantine; Kyosuke agrees believing it could have a space disease as Natsumi likewise agrees to quarantine the creature. Naoki sympathizes with the Beager believing it as a space orphan that was abused and abandoned which Minoru doesn't believe in seeing it's creepy eyes and terrible teeth that he never saw in any creature, making it bite him and fly away from the base making Minoru yell it's dangerous as Naoki chases after it.
Naoki chases the Beager to a park as he states Kyosuke and the others were just worrying and aren't bad people, the Beager not agreeing and biting Naoki's hand as he believes the creature to have been abused by everyone which is why it's weary of everyone. He states he's on the creature's side and will be by it's side no matter what, making it finally back away as Naoki wonders if it believes him, which it agrees with. Naoki sneezes making the creature come to him warming him up, as he also realizes the Beager is hungry and needs something to eat as the two ride to pick food up, including milk, chocolate, salted fish guts, pickles and shochu telling it to eat what it likes. The creature doesn't want any as Naoki asks what it wants, the Beager flying over to rocks which the human states aren't edible making it fly away with Naoki chasing it. As Naoki chases the creature through the day into the night, the Beager starts crying as Naoki wonders why; without warning CC Patchoone catches the Beager with it's whip stating it found him as Grotch states they won't let it get away this time. The Gorotsuki grabs Naoki's ankle as he asks what it wants with the Beager, the animal trainer stating they'll multiply it into ten-thousand as he strangles the human with the whip allowing for the two to get away, Naoki crying for the Beager. The other Carranger rush to him as Naoki cries for the lost creature.
As night falls, Grotch and CC Patchoone gather up water and read up on how to multiply a Beager, stating if you blend fresh Japanese water with powdered space mulukhiya and make a Beager drink it, it will increase it's cell division activity. Grotch states they need more as they mix the mulukhiya and water together to create their drink, stating they need 100 bottles of the substance to create ten-thousand Beager. Grotch tells CC Patchoone they need to speed up the multiplication as the Gorotsuki feeds the substance to the creature.
At the Carranger garage, Naoki worries for the Beager as he tells the others they may think he's strange, but since he was a boy he can't let animals suffer! He tells a story about when he tried to adopt several animals but his mother kept saying no whether it be a dog, cat, rabbit, turtle or snake, leading to all of them being unable to be saved despite his attempts, making Naoki vow that when he grew up, he would help any poor animal no matter what! Minoru tells Naoki it's understandable but this is a space creature, Yoko adding it may be evil; but Naoki believes it's good and that he's sure that it is, wondering about what the Bowzock are doing to the Beager before running off.
Naoki rushes into the forest to search for the Beager as it completes it's drinking of the 100 bottles, crying out as it's forced to take the last one, stopped by Naoki throwing a rock at the Gorotsuki and rushing to save the Beager before avoiding CC Patchoone's whip, ultimately protected by the other Carranger as Grotch summons Wumpers to help hold the team down. Grotch breathes out a mist attacking the team before telling CC Patchoone to get the Beager back. Naoki deals with Wumpers on his own, knocking one with a stick before CC Patchoone arrives to get it back, having the stick thrown at him as he fires a monocle beam blowing up Naoki and the Beager as they attempt escape in the water. The Gorotsuki tells the Wumpers to find them as Naoki and Beager emerge in the deeper water as he notices the hurt Beager has gone through, worrying it could die and wondering what he can do about it! Looking it over, he realizes that if he can fix the Beager's teeth, it can eat and improve, the creature agreeing with it.
Arriving at the Kaneda Dental Clinic, he makes the entire staff run in panic forcing Naoki to work on Beager's teeth itself, making a mold and creating his own fake teeth while pulling out the creature's rotten teeth and inserting brand new dentures into it, the creature seeing the work and suddenly able to speak to Naoki telling him he did a good job! Naoki is shocked the Beager can talk but he says that's obvious and it now can eat as it rushes out and devours an entire building until it's full, surprising the human that it's favorite food is concrete. It also reveals how it's kind was slaves eating support pillars through the universe at Exhaus' command, those who tries to escape were killed leaving the one Beager the only survivor. Naoki wonders why Exhaus would do this, but Beager reveals that the evil being is building a lot of highways in space, surprising Naoki.
However, the Beager is soon taken by CC Patchoone as he tells the creature it's going to be multiplied and eat the highways of Earth; the creature cries to Naoki to help it but it hits and whips him about throwing the human around while claiming the Beager is his. Naoki defiantly states he won't take it while the Gorotsuki claims he's stubborn for a human firing his monocle beam only for Naoki to change to Blue Racer in the explosion shocking everyone! Naoki kicks the Beager and catches it stating the Carranger will avenge it's lost friends while the other Carranger join in to help in the battle. CC Patchoone sends out the Wumpers which the team fight off as CC Patchoone uses his whip to toss the team about. Beager joins in using it's body to fly around and bite CC Patchoone's nose impressing Blue Racer before the Gorotsuki attacks him making him fight and catch the whip before uppercutting the Gorotsuki and then using his Muffler Guns to shoot him down. Desperate, CC Patchoone uses the Imocho imo youkan to destroy Earth's highways on his own, making the team summon the VRV Machines and Naoki to use Police Fighter to kick the giant Gorotsuki. CC Patchoone wraps a cuff around Police Fighter to electrocute it until Beager eats the chains, stating it tastes terrible but he has to handle it while telling Naoki to handle this, leading to Police Fighter to use it's Police Siren Sonic to stun the Gorotsuki. Using the opening, the team form VRV Robo and destroy CC Patchoone with Victory Twister.
Later, Beager tells Naoki he's hungry after the battle, stating now that his teeth are fixed, he can eat as much as he wants! Naoki tells him they'll look for rocks which the creature agrees with; while Kyosuke finally understands Beager was merely a space orphan and that Naoki's kind heart saved "Earsh"; the human stating the two will be friends forever.
