It's Tough Being a Majin! (魔神はつらいよ Majin wa Tsurai yo) is the thirty-eighth episode of Choriki Sentai Ohranger. It is the conclusion of the storyline introducing the ancient wish-granter Gunmazin.
Synopsis[]
Gunmazin continues to cause trouble for the Ohranger as both Bomber the Great and Buldont aim to use the wish-granting majin for their own selfish desires.
Plot[]
Gunmazin notices Bomber the Great attacking Satoru for his key and attacks him with his eye beams, allowing the boy to escape. Yuji calls out for the boy but it leaves an opening for OhBlocker to be hit by Bara Police; which is stopped with the arrival of King Pyramider stating he'll face the ancient warrior himself. King Pyramider zaps Gunmazin but is blocked by his back, while Bomber once again attacks Satoru for his key, grabbing it as the boy yells out as the Baranoia leader proclaims that Gunmazin now belongs to him! Shocked by the event, Gunmazin realizes his master has changed and he can no longer be where he is and changes back to his smaller mask form where Bomber grabs him and escapes.
After the battle, Shouhei curses out Gunmazin for doing what he wants, but Riki states that his master is whomever holds his key. As Juri asks what they can do with Bomber holding his key, Gorou states they have to get it back; with Momo worried that if Bomber orders Gunmazin to "invade Earth", he will do so without question. Yuji notices Satoru throwing rocks in the stream as the boy apologizes for his selfishness, stating he realizes OhBlocker is important for the protection of Earth and thanks to his desire to ride it for fun it's leading to problem. Yuji states to him to not worry and the Ohranger won't give up this battle, with Gorou adding in that they'll be fine regardless and the team ask him to cheer up.
At the warehouse Yuji was stored in Bomber declares that with Gunmazin his, he will have full control over Baranoia as he falls and trips and furthers declare the Earth will be his. He places the key and recites the spell to awaken Gunmazin in the warehouse, making it destroyed with the growth of the giant warrior; once awakened, Bomber states he's been waiting for this while the being states he knows who he is. Bomber claims he's the new master and Gunmazin asks for his wish, making him state his wish is to conquer Earth alongside him and to ruin the planet with crazy abandon! However as the wish is made, Gunmazin shrinks back down into his mask form, shocking Bomber as he asks what's going on; he shakes the mask, but Gunmazin claims he can't grant the wish because it doesn't amuse him, which is a condition to allow for the wish to be granted! Bomber states it's ridiculous since he claimed he can grant any wish while trying to turn the key over and over to get him to speak before calling him a stubborn jerk and knocking him away! While yelling this isn't what he wanted, Buldont sneaks in and takes the Gunmazin mask, stating it as him as the prince fires beams at the usurper.
Back on the moon, Buldont presents his trophy to Hysteria as Acha claims the prince has done well with this, stating this will allow for him to take Baranoia. But Hysteria hits Acha claiming that he was working for Bomber and thus betrayed them; the servant states he's always been loyal to them and bows before Buldont and Hysteria to prove it. A while later, Buldont takes Gunmazin outside and declares him his new master as he makes the warrior awaken with the key. Asking about his new master, Buldont states that he wishes to enter OhBlocker's cockpit, stating it would be fun to ride it, making Gunmazin suspicious and pushing the prince aside and stating he doesn't appear to be human and that he is a machine like Bomber the Great. Gunmazin wonders if Buldont is trying to deceive him and conquer Earth with him; Kocha tells Buldont to cry as the robot prince yells out that he wants to ride in OhBlocker once and if he does, he'll never try to conquer Earth again! As the prince pours tears Acha pumps into him, Gunmazin tells him to not cry and that he will enable Buldont to ride OhBlocker with a bit of patience before flying away.
Gunmazin yells at the Ohranger to appear with OhBlocker, being spied by the team within the UAOH base as the warrior states that Buldont merely wants to ride in their mecha. Shouhei and Juri are confused thinking Bomber the Great had him, while Yuji realizes that Gunmazin is just falling for the lies of another villain! Momo wonders what they can do and they can't just leave Gunmazin alone, with Gorou stating the only thing they can do is not deploy OhBlocker for the moment to not play into his hands. Gunmazin continues to call out the Ohranger as King Pyramider appears in it's place, KingRanger stating he'll never learn being tricked by Baranoia again! Gunmazin claims he has no need for him as he continues to call for the Ohranger; while Satoru yells at him to stop what he's doing! Gunmazin salutes his former master as the boy states that Baranoia is tricking him and if Baranoia obtains OhBlocker, something awful will happen. Gunmazin laughs stating that Buldont asked him to do it and shed tears to show his honesty and to not worry and asks him to run along; but the boy refuses as the warrior continues to call on the Ohranger to come out. Using his Majin Single-Sword Fourth Strike, he fires a beam at King Pyramider, turning it upside down while stating if the Ohranger don't appear in ten seconds, he will rip the opposing mecha to shreds! Counting down as he points the sword at Satoru's cries, he fires Fourth Strike again sending Riki into more pain while threatening he will destroy his target. With no options, Gorou orders the Ohranger out as Gunmazin hits zero; with his hand suddenly struck by one of the Twin Blocken Swords forcing King Pyramider down to the ground as OhBlocker finally appears!
Gorou yells at Gunmazin to stop as the giant continues to ask for OhBlocker; OhRed stating that Baranoia is deceiving him and Satoru is right for his accusation. Gunmazin claims if they won't give it up, he will take it for himself as he begins another attack and the Ohranger summon the Twin Blocken Sword to fight in combat. Satoru yells at Gunmazin to stop while Buldont and Acha yell at the giant defeat the Ohranger for them! Meanwhile, Bomber instructs Bara Police to go out and destroy OhBlocker himself; while the two mecha continue to fight hitting a tree pinning Satoru down! Though in pain, Satoru tells Gunmazin to stop fighting and that he loves him; but hates that he can't tell the difference between right and wrong! As he yells at him to come to his senses, Gunmazin saves Satoru by removing the tree from the prone boy as he tells the warrior to not be deceived by his enemies.
As Gunmazin considers his circumstance, Bara Police grows once again as he uses his handcuffs to lock OhBlocker's hands and prepares to fire; but Buldont claims he'll be the one to destroy OhBlocker! Hearing Buldont's order to destroy, Gunmazin asks what he means as he confirms that Satoru was right and he was deceived; but Buldont doesn't care due to possessing his key and thus makes him his master. However Gunmazin states that since Buldont deceived him, he's no longer his master and he will be punished, slowly marching forwards as he grabs the key. Seeing Bara Police attack OhBlocker, the giant attacks and removes the cuffs before apologizing to the Ohranger, stating he will destroy the monstrous Machine Beast with his own hands! With the two mecha together, Bara Police tries to attack but is blocked by Gunmazin's cape before the warrior uses his Majin Single-Sword Fifth Strike, firing a lightning beam that constricts and lifts Bara Police before he's tossed to the ground long enough for the Twin Blocken Crash to destroy the Machine Beast. Gunmazin celebrates the victory with OhBlocker as Bomber the Great notices Buldont leaving; Gunmazin claims the prince's punishment isn't finished as he picks him up and blows him away, dropping the key in the process.
Bomber rushes to get the key but it flies away, forcing Gunmazin to weaken; as Satoru mourns his departure, Gunmazin states he will meet again with the boy someday and to be well for the time being as he returns to his mask idol form and shrinks down before flying away, the boy waving him farewell and calling out for him. The Ohranger stare off as the boy states it's for the best, even if he wanted to play with him more. Yuji states Gunmazin taught an important lesson about caring for others and having fun, proper dreams as the team laugh at the comment and Yuji watches him cartwheel some more.
