Ep. 37: Friendship Cross! Lord Kumade is a Fashionista (友情クロス！ファッショニスタは熊手様 Yūjō Kurosu! Fasshonisuta wa Kumade-sama) is the thirty-seventh episode of No.1 Sentai Gozyuger. It features the first appearance of Ribbon.
Synopsis
Bouquet grows increasingly anxious as the Gozyugers keep getting stronger, and asks TegaJune to create a new Bridan. The newly born younger sister, Ribbon, wanders off alone somewhere in search of her beloved "lovely things"...!?
Meanwhile, Mashiro has become like a different person after losing his cherished robe he always wears. Amidst this, the Gozyugers face off against Fashion No.1 in a No.1 Battle. They all show off their special outfits, but...!?
Plot
Ribbon's first appearance
At No One World, the Bridans gather and witness Queen TegaJune generating something into existence. Bouquet explains that she asked the queen to create a new member of Bridan and increase their strength. However, during the process TegaJune's eyes briefly turn blue, resulting in the creation of a female dinosaur-like monster, whom she names Ribbon of Destruction. Bouquet finds Ribbon cute, and Ribbon reciprocates the feeling by hugging her and sticking a ribbon on her, calling her lovely. She then gets acquainted with Mr. Shining Knife and Mrs. Sweet Cake, and gets curious about the markings around Fire Candle's eyes, finding them weird and not lovely. She runs away to look for more lovely things, with Bouquet worriedly following her. After all of her subordinates walk away, TegaJune expresses worry that something might be wrong about her, because she intended to create Ribbon with a human form.
Mashiro finds out his robe is missing
In the human world, an old woman with a basket full of chestnuts trips, resulting in the chestnuts flying towards two children. Mashiro notices this and transforms into GozyuPolar, taking off his Champion Robe. He punches the chestnuts back into the basket and helps the woman up. BearKuma 50 follows him, not noticing the wind carrying away Mashiro's robe. While BearKuma asks from the woman to pay with the chestnut's honey, Mashiro doesn't find his robe anywhere and gets worried.
Ribbon steals Mashiro's robe
Elsewhere, Ribbon is exploring the human world. She goes to a Taiyaki stand and receives one for free, and after finding the Taiyaki tasty she brands the stand with a ribbon. She later sticks ribbons to a woman's bag, a little girl and a sign that she finds lovely, But when she passes near someone selling chains, she doesn't find them lovely. She then notices Mashiro's robe. She puts it on, sticks a ribbon to it, and says it's the loveliest thing she's ever seen.
Meanwhile, Hoeru is working part-time at a clothing store when Fashion No.1 suddenly appears and attacks three people, taking their clothes and replacing them with black-colored attires. When Hoeru confronts him, he says that the Gozyugers have no fashion sense and refuses to return the clothes before walking away. Hoeru allows the troubled customers to wear other clothes from the store, but when they try, the Bridan logo appears and they're unable to put them on. Suddenly, the store's manager sees Hoeru giving away the clothes for free.
Mashiro loses his sanity after losing his robe
Hoeru returns to TegaSword Village after being fired by the manager. Rikuo tells him and Ryugi that he'll be helpful in the fashion battle, but Kinjiro is more concerned about Mashiro, who drunkenly lays down on the floor after drinking a few bottles of honey. BearKuma explains that Kumade's Champion Robe was given to him when he won the previous Ring Battle. That robe represents his pride and memories, and without it he feels helpless, so BearKuma sets out to look for the missing robe.
The other male Gozyugers visit another clothing store to test their sense of fashion. Rikuo gives Hoeru a stylish outfit similar to his own, but Hoeru puts on a chain necklace and ruins the outfit's decency. Hoeru then styles Kinjiro's outfit, but Kinjiro dislikes his torn-up jeans. Kinjiro gives Ryugi a stylish suit, and then, Ryugi lets Rikuo wear his ceremonial robe. Rikuo feels something pricky, and when he opens the robe, he finds it filled with written prayers for TegaSword.
BearKuma recalls the day when Mashiro brought him to life
Outside, BearKuma runs into Ribbon, who finds him lovely. BearKuma notices that she's wearing Mashiro's robe and tries to get it back, but Ribbon attacks him with a blast from her tail. Back at TegaSword village, it's already evening and Mashiro starts feeling lonely and starts crying for help. An injured BearKuma returns with a small patch from Mashiro's robe. Mashiro gets emotional from BearKuma risking his life for his sake. Both of them recall the day Mashiro gave BearKuma life with his GozyuPolar Ring so that he could have a friend. Mashiro hugs BearKuma and tells him that his robe isn't more important than his life, and that he can still be strong with him around.
Mashiro arrives with his newly made robe
On the next day, Fashion No.1 steals keeps stealing people's clothes. The Gozyugers, all wearing black, arrive and confront him. When they take off the black clothes, they reveal that they've kept their regular outfits, because they're already stylish and one should only wear the clothes they want to. Fashion No.1 retaliates and calls a Combatant Ai wearing an outfit that combines the Gozyugers' own. Fashion No.1 says that the value of fashion depends on its designer's charisma. Suddenly, Mashiro appears, wearing a new robe that he and BearKuma have sewn together. Fashion No.1 dislikes the robe, but Mashiro says it doesn't matter. What's important is how hard he and BearKuma worked on it, and how their friendship is much more important. The Ai that judge the Fashion Battle approve Mashiro's style, so he challenges the Gozyugers for a battle, and they all transform.
Ribbon encounters the Gozyugers for the first time
The Gozyugers start fighting Fashion No.1 and the Ai. Hoeru uses the Jetman Sentai Ring to Retransform into Red Hawk and starts shooting at them with the Bird Blaster. Ribbon arrives and attacks them with her dinosaur tail, tearing a large hole in the wall behind them. Mashiro notices that she's wearing his robe and realizes that she's the one who attacked BearKuma. Ribbon introduces herself as the newest Bridan member, and the Gozyugers are wary of her powers. She summons and boards an Ayayser, but the OrcaBooster 5050 appears and kicks it with its tail. Hoeru decides to give it a chance to fight and forms TegaSword Akatsuki. As soon as he does, Ribbon steals TegaSword Akatsuki's sword and starts swinging it around. TegaSword Akatsuki punches her Ayayser, causing it to drop the sword and allowing him to retreive it. TegaSword and Hoeru finish the Ayayser off with TegaSword: Killer Whale Slash, and Ribbon escapes before it's completely destroyed.
Back on the ground, Fashion No.1 attacks the Gozyugers with his hats, but the Gozyugers dodge them. Mashiro tells him that fashion exists so that others could admire it. BearKuma joins him, wearing a small-sized version of Mashiro's new robe. Mashiro tells Fashion No.1 that he won't be able to beat them because he has no one by his side. He activates Finish Knuckle and creates a ball of ice, which BearKuma shapes into a fist that is sent at Fashion No.1, freeing his victim and transporting him to safety. Fashion No.1 dies while lamenting that he never wore a matching outfit with someone else. Mashiro and BearKuma announce themselves as Fashion Number One, and the people's stolen clothes are restored.
Bouquet finds Ribbon, and is relieved to see that she survived her battle with Hoeru. She then notices that her sister is wearing Mashiro's robe, but Ribbon shrugs it off and runs away.
Bouquet leaving a message for Mashiro that she returned his robe back
Mashiro and BearKuma stand on a bridge, the former now wearing his robe, which was returned by Bouquet to return the favor for helping her before. He's happy to have his robe back, but admits that the other one was nice too. GoodeBurn awakes and calls him and BearKuma out for not including him on the new robe. Mashiro then turns the new robe around, showing a GoodeBurn sticker adorning its inner side. GoodeBurn gets emotional and cries tears of joy that drench Mashiro, and the Godness Kumade family start laughing together as the episode ends.

Additionally the Combatant Ai Fashion No.1 dressed up with the core Gozyugers' clothes has her skirt.
- No preview video was aired for what would have been the next episode, being intended to be a focus episode for Sumino. Plot information for the episode that eventually aired the week after would not be revealed until much later, as Imamori's removal necessitated several reshoots, re-edits, and changes to the projected broadcast schedule for the next few episodes.
