Ep. 34: Scattered Battle Scars, Gray Glow (散ずる戦禍、灰色の輝き Sanzuru Senka, Haiiro no Kagayaki) is the thirty-fourth episode of No.1 Sentai Gozyuger. It features the debut of TegaSword GozyuLeon and the RyoTegaSword (Robo), the revivals of Mrs. Sweet Cake and Assam, and the final appearances of Bellum and Rei Gushima.
Synopsis[]
The Calamity has not only harmed Mr. Shining Knife & Mrs. Sweet Cake, but even TegaJune, leaving the Bridan trembling with rage. The Bridan commanders then make a decision...!
Meanwhile, Rikuo holds a "Thanks Party" to express his gratitude to everyone before the full-scale battle against the Calamity. He invites Hoeru and the others to his house, where he serves them a huge feast, and they all have a great time together.
Eventually, Rikuo decides to go to Rei alone...!?
Plot[]
Fire Candle and Bouquet find a weakened Queen TegaJune near a forest. They ask how she is doing and what she's doing there. TegaJune tells them she was foolish to battle Bellum without a passenger in the cockpit. Fire Candle and Bouquet tell the Queen that they will handle Mr. Shining Knife as the Combatant Ai foot soldiers come and join hands, showing the love they have for the Queen. TegaJune's eyes turn blue for a moment before she returns to No-One World through the circle the Ai created.
The Gozyugers received a thanks party invitation from Rikuo
At TegaSword Village, Ryugi is praising TegaSword as Hoeru comes downstairs after waking up and notices that Ryugi is a lot more motivated than ever. Ryugi claims Hoeru shouldn't be full of himself because he and TegaSword joined forces with his new power-up, he says he too will join forces with the one who he loves. Kinjiro walks in and gives Ryugi a letter, the monk opens it and notices that they've received a thanks invitation party from Rikuo.
At Rikuo's house, he welcomes the three into his abode. When asked why he did this, the stage star claims that it's the right time and he wants to convey his thanks before they fight Bellum. Hoeru doesn't care as long as he eats a large meal. Mashiro, Sumino and BearKuma arrive but Sumino doesn't seem too interested as she still hasn't forgiven Rikuo, claiming that Mashiro forced her to come.
The Bridans fighting Bellum and the Morries
At an abandoned building, Shining Knife is still reminiscing the death of his wife when Bouquet and Fire Candle stop him and try to make him come back to his senses. When he claims that he is a part of the cataclysm, they give him an ultimatum. Shining Knife finally realizes he is the military commander of the Bridan as they barge into the building. Rei stops them in their tracks and claims Shining Knife is the one who killed his own wife, Bellum claims he has forgotten his mission as Rei is possessed by Bellum and summons past Sentai Foot Soldiers (Hidrer Soldiers, Zolohs, Jinmmers, Ular Soldiers, Batsuler Soldiers, and Orgets). The Bridan, led by Shining Knife, charge at the opposition and latter doing the same and a large brawl begins with the Bridan eventually overpowering the Foot Soldiers and later overpowering Bellum to the point he develops a wound as his weakpoint. He delivers one final blow before leaving and Fire Candle claim they have the upper hand. The Gozyugers begin their feast and are enjoying it. Hoeru claims Rikuo's made tempura when the latter claims it's actually frites and gives him some salt. Hoeru claims he likes the food soggy before eating it, Mashiro jokingly says that these people have a soggy heart to Hoeru's dismay. Kinjiro claims he is prejudiced and BearKuma claims Mashiro isn't a wimp like the others. Ryugi tells Kinjiro there's no talking at feast time and a light bickering starts. Later on, the other Gozyugers (minus Rikuo) are fast asleep as Rikuo finishes tucking Sumino in bed and thanks them before leaving.
Rei changes Assam into Shishi Red
Elsewhere, Rei is using his ring to swallow the souls of other human beings as Rikuo arrives and tells him that they will settle it once and for all. The psychopath claims there isn't an idol-like look on his face as they hear a voice. It was the other Gozyugers, wondering why Rikuo would fight Rei on his own. He claims that if he goes out and takes each other out selfishly, it wouldn't help anyone. With a smile on his face, Rikuo asks them to help him. Without thinking twice, they accept his plea. Filled to the brim with jealousy and angry, Rei summons more past Sentai Foot Soldiers (Hidrer Soldiers, Zolohs, Ular Soldiers, Batsuler Soldiers, Grinam Soldiers, and Golem Soldiers) and all 6 Gozyugers engage, transform and fight the Foot Soldiers.
Just then, Rei revives Assam and brings him back from the dead and uses his ring to transform Assam into Shishi Red using the Kyuranger Sentai Ring, charging at Mashiro and Kinjiro. Kinjiro becomes Red1 to team up with Mashiro to fight Shishi Red, but he uses his Seiza Blaster's Seiza Attack to push them back and then attacks them with the Kyu Sword's Regulus Impact, while Sumino and Hoeru become GingaRed and RyoTegaSword GozyuWolf and work with Ryugi to deal with the army of Foot Soldiers. Rei is fighting Rikuo, engages and becomes MagiRed and brawls with the idol. Rikuo asks him for his wish, the psychopath claims that his wish is for everything to return to how it was before, Rikuo says he can make it happen and Rei claims they used to have fun before a brutal blow on Rikuo, he claims his heart cannot go back and that Rikuo could never understand what he's going through. Rikuo, without a choice, decides he has to fight Rei and the Number 1 Battle Begins!
TegaSword GozyuLeon's first appearance
Rikuo checks on Rei
Rei uses the MagiPunch to push Rikuo back, but he is able to recover as Rei uses his MagiStick to send rocks towards Rikuo, who swiftly dodges them. Rikuo is able to overpower Rei with the flowing hatred within him and claims he wanted to spend more time with him and talk about so many things and asks how he could do such a thing. A weakened Rei de-transforms with tears overflowing in his eyes as Rikuo walks up to him with the TegaSword in his hand, remembering the times he's had with Rei launches his TegaSword in the air and lets it come crashing down. Suddenly, Sumino shields Rikuo's blow. She claims that it is not easy to not be with someone who is important to you and it'll be bad for her if he kills Rei as she always wanted to be the one that does that and asks Rikuo to lend her a hand. Thanking her, he accepts. Bellum possesses Rei and Hoeru comes in to hold him back as Sumino and Rikuo use their Finish Fingers to land a blow on Bellum, and each of them taking two of the rings that were possessed by Rei (with Rikuo getting the Magiranger Sentai Ring and reclaiming the Zyuohger Sentai Ring, while Sumino gets the Kyuranger and Zenkaiger Sentai Rings). Just then, Assam collapses to the ground and Bellum begins to charge up his power. Fire Candle tells them to aim for the wound Shining Knife caused on his torso and Hoeru lends Rikuo the RyoTegaSword, allowing him to finish off Bellum as Sumino and Hoeru become Super Armor Shine GingaRed and Wild GozyuWolf respectively, holding off Bellum so that Rikuo engages and becomes TegaSword GozyuLeon. He uses both the Sun Vulcan and Magiranger Sentai Rings in the RyoTegaSword to finish Bellum with the Hiba Return, Red Fire, and Overload All Hands finishers, defeating Bellum and becoming the winner of the Number 1 Battle. Fire Candle escapes the battlefield and Rikuo runs up to Rei trying to help him.
The RyoTegaSword's Robot Form makes its arrival
Bellum, filled with power, becomes a giant. Hoeru tells Rikuo to leave the rest to him as TegaSword tells him to finish it with the greatest power as Hoeru awakens and RyoTegaSword Robo is created. Hoeru and TegaSword overpower Bellum using the TegaSword Infinity Divide, as Bellum succumbs to his wounds and is destroyed.
Sumino finally reunites with Oto again
At Rei's former hideout, Sumino searches for her sister and finds her in one of his capsules, happy that she is finally reunited with her sister. Shining Knife, with Bouquet, is saddened and wonders how he is supposed to keep going. Just then, his wife Sweet Cake wakes up and Shining Knife and Bouquet are happy that she is revived and well again. Assam claims he must return to his home planet, the Gozyugers believe he's joking but then he is abducted by a UFO and bids them farewell surging in the sky, much to the surprise of Ryugi, Kinjiro, and Hoeru.
Rikuo visiting Rei in prison
Rikuo visits Rei in jail and tells him he won't leave him alone, wanting to find a way to cure him. Rei tells him he has nothing else to lose, asking him if he can visit his stage. Rikuo accepts saying his concerts make the stubborn cry. With tears flowing in his eyes, Rei thanks him and apologizes as the both of them smile, mending their friendship.
