Awaken! Gekiso Dapp (おめざめ！激走ダップ O-mezame! Gekisō Dappu) is the thirty-third episode of Gekiso Sentai Carranger. It features the return of Hazardian Dapp after his brief departure during the Braking arc.
Synopsis[]
As Dapp finally awakens from his hibernation, he ends up helping the Carranger indirectly face a hot-headed Gorotsuki as they prepare for his surprise party.
Plot[]
Within the Carranger headquarters, Yoko pulls out a thermometer and places it in Dappu's mouth, reading his temperature as the others arrived surprised she had it but with her slapping their inconsiderateness as she states the alien's temperature's back to normal, making them realize he's going to awaken from hibernation! Kyosuke realizes something dragging the team away from Dappu, while the alien dreams of the destruction of Hazard before "waking" in a field confusing him. The alien soon sees both of his parents alive and well as his mother asks him to join them for lunch; Dappu asks his mother to feed him but the child alien confirms saying he wants to be like this forever before the aliens states he's still asleep. Dappu is surprised by the revelation as the female alien tells him to wake up, saddening Dappu that he can't be with them again as the two mysteriously vanish, telling Dappu they'll meet again and not to catch a cold as the alien screams for them to come back, waking him up as he sneezes upon waking.
On the Baribarian, the minions are lifting something as Gynamo declares an announcement: when Instructor Ritchihiker became RitchiRitchihiker, he brought forth unnecessary things that powered up the Carranger! (referring to the VRV Machines) Because of this, the Bowzock can't be how they were and thus, from today, they are the "Health Bowzock"! Gynamo states the team's strength are their "health" and "stupidity" and since it was a mistake to rely on brainpower to defeat the Carranger, they need to "get back to basics" by being healthy idiots. Zonnette suggests they should be the "Idiot Bowzock", making Gynamo say as an aside that it would be sad for them to be called that. Grotch reveals he's already invented a drink to power up the Bowzock's stupidity, the "Super Idiot Drink", which he decides to try out with a particular Gorotsuki, UU Ussu, who downs it and suddenly goes crazy running around firing him up and making Zelmoda declare him as "Health Bowzock's Best Man on Fire": Super Idiot UU Ussu, demonstrating as the Gorotsuki rapidly answers all of his questions wrong like stating "1+1 is 6" and Gynamo declaring him a "wonderful idiot".
On Earth, Dappu yawns and hits his head on the side of a sign as he spies on the Carranger in the garage, where Kyosuke proposes that they hold a party for the end of Dappu's hibernation. Naoki proposes a picnic in the outdoors as he imagines nature that reminds the alien of his homeworld and suggests it, making the others agree to it and prepare for the occasion but quiet down when they realize that the alien may hear it, which he does from a far.
Later, the Carranger head into the open lands, arriving stating Dappu will be surprised; Minoru stating they've grown up since he went to sleep as Naoki gets them to start setting up for when he wakens and Natsumi and Yoko showing they want to see his face when he wakes up. At the base, Dappu watches with excitement as Kyosuke realizes that it's quite hot where they decided to set the picnic up; Minoru complaining it's like summer despite being the middle of October! As the team figure it may be the Bowzock, UU Ussu drives by on a bike proclaiming his "hotness" and states he is sharing his heat with earth while empowering his bike with the "Super Idiot Drink", driving off as he proclaims he will burn the planet with his super-speed! The Carranger witness as the forests on the mountains blaze up shocking them with their destruction; Kyosuke proclaims Dappu loves this place and they transform to defend it, deciding to fight the forest fire first calling forth Victrailer, surprising the alien at the base as they utilize the VRV Fighters and shocking him that they suddenly have them. The VRV Fighters soon head out as Fire Fighter uses an extinguisher and Dozer Fighter and Dump Fighter throw rocks into each other to create stones to cool the blaze, while Police Fighter and Rescue Fighter tell the locals to evacuate, surprising Dappu on how well they're handling this. UU Ussu is upset they put out his fire and prepares for more, but the bike loses steam as he abandons it as the Gorotsuki proclaims he'll stop them with the hottest body in the Bowzock, drinking two more "Super Idiot Drinks" and heating him further to cause an inferno around himself!
UU Ussu claims he's such an amazing idiot that he'll burn down all of Japan leading to "Earsh's" firework-like explosion! The Carranger soon approach him but he states he's so hot they can't touch him, making the team challenge with the Auto Blasters but being blocked by a heat shield before UU Ussu breathes fire burning them further! Natsumi states she can't stand the heat, but Yoko states if they lose as Dappu wakes up, he'll be saddened at their failure! Kyosuke states they need to do their best but keep being hit by the flames UU Ussu throws, making Dappu worry at the team's potential loss with their progress. Without warning Dappu changes the channel as a weather woman proclaims the "heat wave will continue until the Carranger defeat the villain" before stating "you'll be cool if you squirm on the ground like a worm", making Dappu realize that if you attack UU Ussu from underground, you'll be immune from the heat! Dappu is excited he figured a scheme but figures if he approaches the Carranger now, the team will be upset seeing him spoiling their surprise and making them become hopeless in their scenario burning them up! Dappu relents he can't just meet with the team and tell them this.
Meanwhile, UU Ussu keeps breathing fire towards the Carranger burning them and making them fall and untransform as they're forced to retreat. The team rushes to water fountains but even they heat up as the five even notice the pool becoming hotter than a hot spring! Naoki worries that if they don't defeat UU Ussu, all the pools will be hot like this one, but Minoru relents they can't get close to him due to how hot he is. Without warning, Dappu (disguised as a fortune teller) approaches, the team is surprised as he tells them their destiny as an "ordinary fortuneteller"; the team criticize him and tell the "fortuneteller" to evacuate to safety while complaining about the heat as the alien is pushed away making them realize how familiar he is. Dappu meanwhile realizes his costume was too good in being "ordinary" and changes tactic, trying to be a nurse but thinking it as too creepy and crying at what to do. As the Carranger still try to figure it out, Dappu decides to instead be a rock singer, telling them to listen to his song, singing about the heat but saying he "envies worms for living underground". The team figure out the song as they figure out the lesson and congratulate the "rocker" for his song and tell him to get home safely, making the alien happy that it worked out and that they didn't realize it was him; though the team relent that it was him as they decide to transform and concentrate on UU Ussu.
As UU Ussu rushes through the city yelling that he's uncatchable if he ran around like an idiot, Dragon Cruiser suddenly rams into him from underground while Kyosuke shoots him with Pegasus Thunder's Pegasus Final Burning! The team regroup as the team tell him he's done and they envy his "heated" running and tell him to cool himself. Upset that they were finally able to hit him, he eats an Imocho imo youkan to grow, leading to the team to summon the VRV Machines and fuse into VRV Robo. Kyosuke yells that the only things that should be hot are summer and oden, angering UU Ussu as he tries and fails to attack them, being punched aside before being destroyed by the Victory Twister.
After the battle, the Pegasus workers prepare their picnic in the mountains finishing preparations as Kyosuke sees Dappu asleep in the van, wondering when "he'll wake up". The alien "yawns" as Dappu greets Kyosuke and the team while seeing the picnic set up for him, making Minoru guide him to the celebration (even as Naoki calls it hokey), the team stating they have been through a lot since he went to sleep but still need his advice, surprising him about how they needed him today. The team state that Dappu's body must be weak from all the sleeping he had been doing so they decided to give an exercise called the "Gekiso Taisou", performing their exercises while inviting the alien to join them, which he joins in with excitement.
