The Unexpected Great Monster Accident!! (予期せぬ大怪獣事故！！ Yoki Senu Daikaijū Jiko!!) is the twenty-ninth episode of Gekisou Sentai Carranger. It is the start of a three-part story arc, culminating in the battle with Instructor Ritchihiker (as "RitchiRitchihiker") and his new Braking mecha who defeats and then steals the RV Robo. It also introduces a new mystery character known as the VRV Master.
Synopsis[]
With his mind and body strengthened by evil energy and a newly built giant mech, RitchiRitchihiker begins a campaign against all of his enemies, including the Carranger (who are suddenly without Dappu) and Gynamo.
Plot[]
At the Pegasus Garage, Kyosuke is sweeping up debris as he contemplates Signalman finally at the sports meet with his son, Sigtarou running the three-legged race and caring for his family. Inside the base, Dappu contemplates why he's suddenly so sleepy as he dozes off but hits his head until he finally remembers.
On the Baribarian, Gynamo speaks with Ritchihiker on basking in the evil energy of the universe during the Bowzock Festival believing it gave him new evil ideas and giving him a plan to stop the Carranger. The instructor states seriously if this is the way to speak to him as he snaps his fingers, causing a massive vibration within the base as a massive eye peeks into the Bowzock headquarters shocking everyone! Ritchihiker states that this "being" is called "Braking"; Gynamo congratulates him on making a great robot on a low budget; but Ritchihiker states he didn't have enough budget on his own, so he took extra money from Gynamo's secret funds, the funds the Bowzock president was saving for his wedding to Zonnette, making the female angry at him for the idea but also worrying that the funds taken was Zonnette's own money! Zonnette asks Ritchihiker why he would take her money for a stupid robot but Ritchihiker instructs Zelmoda and Grotch to do away with the annoying duo, the duo obliging as the two resist; Gynamo yells at the two for doing this as Zelmoda states they didn't expect it either, revealing they took some of Gynamo's savings as well; Zelmoda explaining his bond of friendship with the president won't lead to betrayal as does Grotch, but Ritchihiker states he'll pay a lot of money for the deal, which they continue to resist as he continues to attempt to bribe them until he turns over an entire suitcase of money for their pride! Gynamo yells at Zelmoda wondering if their friendship really means nothing to him but Zelmoda states it wasn't worth that much, Grotch adding it wasn't free. Ritchihiker announces that effective today, he with intelligence and sophistication will be Bowzock's president, further shocking Gynamo as he pronounces they'll use the Bowzock to make as much money as they can, the minions cheering as Gynamo steps on Zelmoda's foot and Zonnette bites Grotch's hand and headbutts him, the two escaping to Earth as Braking chases after them.
On Earth, Gynamo yells at Ritchihiker stating he'll beat him up the next they meet, but Braking pursues as it rampages towards them, forcing Zonnette to drive them away but the duo crashing into a wall and forced to abandon their car to flee from the robot as Ritchihiker pilots with glee.
At Carranger headquarters, Dappu reveals why he's been so sleepy these days: revealing before he did, he asks them to listen to his song, starting to sing a song about the Bowzock and Carranger situation and that he's been too stern. He stops when the alarm goes off and the Carranger are forced to transform and pursue as Dappu grows tired and wishes he had time to tell them what he needed to. As the Carranger arrive in the city, they see Ritchihiker drinking tea already waiting for them. Minoru compliments Ritchihiker's new look while the instructor states his power has also been upgraded and he's much more cunning, now calling himself Instructor "RitchiRitchihiker"! The instructor now states he's the second president of the Bowzock, shocking them about Gynamo's fate as he states the first incompetent president and Zonnette are now kicked out and wandering around somewhere, the duo seen trying to figure things out in the city. RitchiRitchihiker states now he's president, the Bowzock will become different in many ways, starting with him defeating the Carranger in battle. Summoning the Wumpers, the Carranger fight against them as the team knock them about as he keeps laughing. He then states that his new Braking is greater than their ability as his greatest creation. Kyosuke summons the Giga Booster but the weapon does nothing against the new mecha as RitchiRitchihiker wonders if that's all they can do; but when Kyosuke summons Dappu to summon the Ranger Vehicles, the alien is suddenly fast asleep in their base, unable to awaken! Naoki worries they can't summon RV Robo as Braking fires a beam at them knocking them all to the ground, forcing them to retreat.
In base, the Carranger approach as they see Dappu fast asleep; he slowly wakes up as the team tells him he shouldn't be sleeping, but Dappu states this is the perfect time, stating that Hazardians have to hibernate to survive, shocking the team. Minoru states summer has just ended, which Dappu relents as to why he does hibernate. The alien apologizes as he falls dead asleep, shocking the team wondering what they can do next; Yoko wonders if they should bring Signalman back, but Natsumi states they need a more solid idea. Minoru states they need a better grip of reality as Kyosuke states they have to handle this on their own. As the alarm goes off, the team return to combat, summoning RV Robo on their own to combat Braking.
As Braking rampages, the team states they won't lose as RitchiRitchihiker states he's been waiting for this moment as the two go at it against one another. Summoning RV Sword, the team use Gekisou Cut but RitchiRitchihiker spins Braking to the point that he is able to chop the sword and throw it away, shocking the team as the mecha starts being ripped apart by the evil mecha! The instructor states this is different from previous Bowzock attacks as Braking uses it's tail to slap and wrap around RV Robo as he announces "Work 4", using an electric shock to shock RV Robo, shutting down engines and causing the mecha to start shutting down! The team loses control of RV Robo as Zelmoda instructs a squad of Wumpers to use climbing ropes to climb all over RV Robo and sneak inside, the minions breaking in and attacking the Carranger as they become stuck in the confined space! Realizing they may be doomed, the Carranger are blasted out by more Wumpers throwing them out of RV Robo! RitchiRitchihiker states the goddess of victory smiles upon the Bowzock and decides to go back to the Baribarian with the RV Robo and drink champagne as he launches Braking, dragging the Carranger mecha with him. The team watches helplessly as they see RV Robo dragged into space with nothing they can do.
Meanwhile, Gynamo is at a kaitenzushi shop with Zonnette, the former Bowzock president stating he only ate the cheap ones. They soon head over to a karaoke shop as Zonnette begins to sing her theme within as Gynamo cries at Ritchihiker betraying him.
The Carranger approach a sunset depressed, stating they can't win without either Dappu or Signalman. As night falls, they depressingly decide to head back as they suddenly see a mysterious figure approach them. They stand apprehensive as this mysterious being in black stands before them, stating they should be fighting for traffic safety; Kyosuke asks who they are, they state they could be a friend, a foe or the lone wolf of the universe, but states his name is "VRV Master" as he walks away and vanishes, surprising the team as they wonder who he is.
