Pretty Swordsman, White Rose Mask (美剣士白バラ仮面 Bikenshi Shiro Bara Kamen) is the twenty-ninth episode of Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan.
Synopsis[]
When a female swordswoman Monger defeats both Takayuki and Sun Vulcan Robo, Misa decides to take a secret identity in order to challenge the powerful warrior.
Plot[]
Queen Hedrian is training fencing in her mirror. When Führer Hell Saturn mocks her, she and Amazon Killer detail their next strategy: because the Giant Mongers keep getting defeated by Sun Vulcan Robo's final attack, they must counter it. The Führer jokingly suggests sending Queen Hedrian to the battlefield, but Amazon Killer reveals they've already sent Black Magma's best swordsman to attack the Solar Squadron.
The Red Rose Fencer attacks Takayuki Hiba as he trains in the wilderness. She coaxes him into using his signature Hiba slash on him, which she is able to surpass. She then reveals her true identity as Rose Monger. The other members of Sun Vulcan arrive, and Rose Monger reveals she leaked her own information to goad them into a giant-sized duel. As she grows to giant size, Sun Vulcan takes the bait and calls in Jaguar Vulcan.
As she promised, Rose Monger is able to dodge Sun Vulcan Robo's finisher and counters with a devastating signature attack of her own. Though Hiba wishes to stay and fight, the other members of Sun Vulcan urge him to escape lest the Sun Vulcan Robo's circuitry is damaged further and destroyed. Queen Hedrian watches with glee.
Amazon Killer leads the forces of Black Magma in indiscriminate amounts across Tokyo. VulPanther and VulShark attempt to defend the city, but are again defeated by Rose Monger.
Back at base, Commander Arashiyama remarks that Takayuki Hiba is off training in the woods to come up with a counter to Rose Monger. This prompts his daughter, Misa, to pick up her old fencing hobby once more.
The next time the Red Rose Fencer strikes, she is countered by a new White Rose Fencer. The White Rose Fencer carves white Ws into the chests of Machinemen.
Back at the Snack Safari, Chef Sukehachi Yazawa reveals he and the kids have been training in swordfighting to be like the new hero White Rose. Takayuki Hiba remarks that a woman should not be out there challenging villains alone, and Commander Arashiyama worries about his daughter's safety.
White Rose Fencer loses her next duel to Red Rose, with Rose monger pulling off her mask and tearing both of her sleeves. Before Rose Monger can perform her finisher on Misa, VulEagle intervenes. He reveals he has managed to diagram Rose Monger's finisher, and discovered a moment of weakness within its sequencing. The reunited Sun Vulcan battles Rose Monger and a squad of Machinemen on the beach. VulEagle is able to counter Rose Monger's attack with his own signature Hiba slash.
Rose Monger grows to Giant Monger size, and this time the Sun Vulcan Robo is able to defeat her.
Despite not being able to defeat Red Rose Fencer, the events of the episode convinced Misa Arashiyama to pick up fencing again. As she plays with the local children, the other members of Sun Vulcan convince Asao Hyo to try and duel her, though she is able to easily break his focus. The narrator remarks that Sun Vulcan Robo has learned a new Solar Sword technique.
