The Bride is Abare-chan (花嫁はアバレチャン Hanayome wa Abare-chan) is the twenty-eighth episode of Bakuryu Sentai Abaranger. It reveals more regarding the past of Asuka prior to becoming an Abaranger; as well as involves the first arrival of Apostle of Dawn Lije on Another Earth, leading to an unlikely alliance that will develop in subsequent episodes.
Synopsis[]
When the Evolian begin kidnapping brides, the Abarangers attempt to locate the brides, which also becomes personal for Asuka when it makes him think of his own engagement.
Plot[]
While Asuka is driving around the city, he comes across a married couple happily leaving a chapel. He remembers his own engagement to the Ryujin woman named Mahoro, promising her a real wedding when the Evolian were defeated. However, as he reminisces, Trinoid 17: Shohousenkameleon attacks to kidnap the bride.
AbareBlack transforms and confronts Shohousenkameleon, who manages to fend him off before the Abarangers arrive. Shohousenkameleon continues to steal brides across the greater Tokyo metropolitan area. Back at Dino House, the Abarangers formulate a plan. Emiri and Ranru think of posing as brides. While Ryoga wants Yukito to crossdress again, Ranru decides to be the bride herself.
Meanwhile, Lije struggles, unable to sleep as Wicked Life God Dezumozorlya's voice keeps tormenting her, demanding a new body be born before his old one rots away. Lije is frustrated at having to be his translator.
The Abarangers order a stop on all weddings in the city and hold their own fake ceremony, with Ranru as the bride, Asuka as the groom, Ryoga as the priest, and Yukito as a nun. Ranru compliments Asuka, telling him that the woman he does really marry will be lucky, and Asuka tells her his backstory with Mahoro. Before they complete the wedding, Ryunosuke tells them that a dimensional door has opened at another location. Here, they are stalked by Lije, who introduces herself and tells them that their Dino Guts ruins their secret plan. Asuka remembers Lije from an earlier encounter.
Jeanne contemplates the restructuring of the Evolian ranks. Voffa and Mikela are throwing a surprise birthday party for Life's first birthday, but Jeanne resents them for calling Lije her daughter.
Emiri decides to redo the ceremony with herself and Ryunosuke (as her the father of the bride) in disguise instead of the Abarangers. Ryunosuke Sugishita enthusiastically agrees, as it allows him to perform a tribute to Yasujiro Ozu for his 100th birthday. Ryunosuke and Emiri stage "Late Summer", a parody/tribute of the film Late Spring. It works, and Shohousenkameleon kidnaps her. She activates a tracking signal before being sucked back into the dimensional door.
Lije watches Mikoto Nakadai struggle with the pain of the Dino Brace, undergoing an electroshock treatment. Topgaler seeks more Bakuryu prey.
The four Abarangers track the brides down to a ghost hotel, where Shohousenkameleon has the brides wrapped up in prescription paper. Emiri asks his goal, and Shohousenkameleon reveals that from his seeds, the brides will give birth to a new body for Lord Dezumozorlya that is teeming with Dino Guts. The bulbs on his head burst, and the brides are sprayed with his seeds, but luckily the Abarangers arrive to catch them before they're implanted. Emiri escorts the brides out. Shohousenkameleon attempts to flee, but AbareYellow tracks him down with her Paint Beam. AbareBlack confronts Shohousenkameleon outside.
AbareBlack remembers his wedding night with Mahoro, and enters Abare Mode to savagely beat Shohousenkameleon. He thrusts his fist into the Evolian's core to blow him up. The other Abarangers arrive to comfort him before he the Trinoid is revived with a rainstorm.
Shohousenkameleon ensnares AbarenOh in paper. Once freed, AbareBlack calls in Ankyloveilus to block the rest of Shohousenkameleon's shots until he is defeated.
Weddings resume across the city. The Abarangers attend one. Continuing the allusion to Late Spring, Mai promises to never get married and leave Ryoga lonely.
Asuka contemplates the biology of Life. If she's just born, she should not have markings on her cheeks - she is growing unusually fast for a Ryujin.
When Mikoto awakens, he finds Lije in his house. She tells him to wait, because she will soon mature into a nice body for him to marry. She is also the only Evolian who can freely move between worlds, which interests Mikoto. Yatsudenwani is worried about his position as AbareKiller's partner-in-crime being usurped.
