A Super Big Figure Coming to Japan!! (超大物・来日!! Chō Dai Mono - Rainichi!!) is the twenty-eighth episode of Ninja Sentai Kakuranger.

Synopsis[]

In search of the final Shinobi Scroll, Jiraiya encounters a figure from his past who is possibly connected to one of his life's greatest tragedies.

Plot[]

Jiraiya is wandering through a desert area searching for his Hidden Scroll. Meanwhile under the ground, Nue states that the Kakuranger may have thought he was defeated, but he is actually invincible and will attempt to defeat Jiraiya before he gets his Hidden Scroll.

Elsewhere, several kids are being attacked by Yokai; Jiraiya yells at them to stop tormenting the kids as he heads into battle attacking the Dorodoro and Yokai while protecting the boys; but is soon rejoined by Sasuke who helps protect them as well. The Yokai grab the boys and vanish, confusing the duo as Jiraiya listens to the ground stating they won't get away with it. The duo arrive at the "Ikaho Green Bokujou" where they split up within the Western town, soon hearing the cries of the children and the Yokai celebrating their capture. Sasuke and Jiraiya rush in telling them to let the kids go; Sasuke transforms but Jiraiya is kicked before he can, confronted by a "Gali-sensei" who knocks him around and throws him to the ground before they vanish.

Sasuke gets the kids to escape as Jiraiya broods about Gali; NinjaRed asks who he is and he responds, that Gali was the man who taught him martial arts in America. Explaining his backstory, Jiraiya reveals his father was a police officer in America and Gali was a teacher at the dojo that Jiraiya learned at. In a flashback to Los Angeles in 1986, Jiraiya reveals his father was dead and Gali took him in and trained him as part of his family; everything he learned was due to Gali. Sasuke wonders if Gali believes Jiraiya is working with the Yokai but states it's impossible and the teacher wouldn't think that and it may be a mistake; but Jiraiya runs off as Sasuke warns it may be a trap. Sandayuu soon appears before Sasuke and tells him that this is the trial given to Jiraiya and he must handle this alone in the same way as the other Kakuranger. Sandayuu states on the other side of the mountain is Jiraiya's hidden scroll and he will reach it with this trial.

As he journeys to him, Jiraiya recalls Gali again putting on a necklace and remembers how his teacher cried and gave him this necklace on the day Jiraiya left for Japan, to remember him by and that as long as he had the stone and Gali had his own, their hearts would be connected before commending him to being a good Kakuranger and complete his mission. Returning to the Western town, Jiraiya calls for Gali, who emerges from one of the buildings stating he knew Jiraiya would return and he was waiting for him. Jiraiya runs to him but Gali tells him to "keep away" before transforming into a battle armor, stating he came to Japan to defeat Jiraiya at the request of Nue, stating he'll have the life he wants if he defeats his former student! Telling him to prepare, the teacher charges and attacks the student, forcing Jiraiya into defense as he becomes shocked that he sold his soul to the Yokai. Gali continues to attack Jiraiya as Nue pushes the two to fight to the death against one another. Jiraiya is knocked to the ground and Gali states he can't win being on the defensive, further stating that "offense is the best defense". Jiraiya states he knew that his father was killed by a Yokai and that's why Gali taught him martial arts to begin with and wonders why he's alongside the Yokai, flashing back to the night of the murder of Jiraiya's father and Gali's promise to his son to raise him. Jiraiya wonders why but Gali states everyone changes, stating that even a saint can make a mistake and fall to become a devil, which is what he is now before he fires an electric beam from his glove, lifting up Jiraiya and throwing him into the buildings and then firing a sphere attack towards him. Jiraiya shows the stone from before he left, but Gali rips it off and throws it away wondering why he still had it and stomps on it against Jiraiya's pleas, wondering if he hates him that much before hitting him down again.

Without warning, Sasuke leaps out of a building and shoots at Gali before leaping out into the battleground asking if Gali really is his master or if he's a Yokai in disguise. Gali wonders why he came to save his friend but Sasuke asks that if he is Jiraiya's teacher, he won't forgive breaking his teammate's heart before transforming against Jiraiya's warning to not attack him. NinjaRed tries to fight but Gali proves his toughness despite Sasuke's trickery, easily defeating Sasuke even when he clones himself and deflecting his moves while firing beams towards him. Gali stomps onto Sasuke to make him suffer, making Jiraiya yell out to stop, but Gali states the bond between the two of them means nothing, making Jiraiya throw sand towards him. Gali asks if he hates him, he should stand to fight, making Jiraiya stand to charge despite Sasuke telling him to not do so. Gali pushes him while pulling out his claw glove, the same glove used to kill Jiraiya's father, shocking NinjaBlack into realizing Gali killed him which the teacher admits to before declaring Jiraiya will now die; Jiraiya blocks the attack claiming he won't forgive him for killing his father and charges at his former teacher once again, the two leaping to attack one another...
