- This episode is a crossover with the long-running manga/anime series Tsuribaka Nisshi (The Diary of the Fishing Idiot); the title reflects this, with the title of the manga alongside the typical "Abare" within it, thus giving the episode a title of "The Abare Diary of the Fishing Idiot". The Abaranger return the favor by appearing in ep. 31 of the anime airing at the time.
- This is one of the only times in Sentai television history that it has a crossover that blends the live-action franchise with animation
- On the other side of Super Hero Time, the Kamen Rider Series has had two crossover specials with the Crayon Shin-chan franchise featuring characters from Kamen Rider Den-O
