Ep. 24: Ah, It's All Over (あァ一巻の終り Ā Ikkan no Owari) is the twenty-fourth episode of Ninja Sentai Kakuranger. It concludes Act 1 of the show.
Synopsis[]
The Kakuranger face off with Gashadokuro in hopes of saving the children captured for Daimaou's summoning; but the end of one battle may lead to the start of a brand new trial.
Plot[]
After Gashadokuro torments the Kakuranger with the threat of Daimaou's arrival, Sasuke motivates the team to defeat him; but Sandayuu warns them against it, stating they won't be able to defeat Gashadokuro as they are now. Tsuruhime asks how but he states he's gaining energy from Daimaou from behind the Seal Door making him more powerful than before and tells them to withdraw. Sasuke says no way as the team tells him that they have to protect all children as the Kakuranger and protect the world. The leader continues to state nothing as Tsuruhime looks at the Promise Bracelet from Keiko and Ryota, telling her leader they have to fight even if it means risking their lives, leading to them to rush into battle as the leader nods and departs.
Gashadokuro realizes the Kakuranger are coming as the team confronts him as Sasuke states they won't let him get his way as he offers the team as sacrifices to Daimaou. He summons the Flowery Kunoichi-Gumi as the female ninja and the Kakuranger charge towards each other and the teams collide; Seikai tosses around Sakura while Jiraiya confronts Ran and strikes her with the Black Bow; Sasuke uses his clone jutsu against Ayame while Tsuruhime easily handles Lily with Falling Cherry Blossoms and Saizou uses his Blue Jet against Suiren. Gashadokuro laughs stating they still can't defeat him as the Yoki Cloud grows him and he declares the team will go to Hell.
The Kakuranger soon summon the Jushou Fighters but Gashadokuro states they won't be of any use while he calls for Daimaou, the Yokai leader charging his sword with lightning he throws towards the Kakuranger's giants. The team try to summon Muteki Shogun but Gashadokuro throws another attack, throwing the team to the ground before firing more Yoki Lightning towards the team forcing them to untransform! Gashadokuro stands before them as a giant laughing as Sasuke despairs if this is all they have while Tsuruhime despairs about the fate of Keiko and Ryota alongside all the other captured children. Sasuke states they will save the children as Gashadokuro declares that he wins before flying back to the skull ritual site stating he'll show them something interesting before they go to the afterlife, playing an organ device that makes the city rumble and flowers die as the birds fly away and raising a good section around the site into the sky, declaring that until Daimaou's return with the new Seal Door, this raised area will be "Siimaabandha" where no one will interfere. Gashadokuro then states he'll turn all humans to stone as he continues to play the organ around the city, turning all those within into stone upon hearing it. As Tsubasamaru flies towards them, the Kakuranger all pass out from exhaustion.
The giant bird soon flies into the ninja castle as the team awakens with Sandayuu walking by them telling them to not worry and they're within the Wind Illusion Castle. They notice statues standing above them that the ninja leader states are the Three God Generals who reign over the world: Muteki Shogun, Tsubasamaru and Kakure Daishogun, the last unknown to Tsuruhime. Sandayuu explains that about two thousand years prior, there was nothing but battle between humans and Yokai day and night; with the Yokai lead by Daimaou and the humans by the "Three Sages". After a long and difficult battle, the sages came up with a technique that was able to bury the Yokai underground: the "Shinobi-no-Jutsu. The Three Sages souls eventually sublimated into the Three God Generals and stopped Daimaou from reviving every time, including the battle four hundred years prior that the Kakuranger's ancestors fought in. When Sasuke asks about the summonings of Muteki Shogun prior, Sandayuu explains it's a means to summon the giant from heavenly slumber; and when Tsuruhime asks if this is what it means that it's alive, Sandayuu nods. The sage soon states that to defeat Daimaou, the Kakuranger must master the essence of Hidden Style Ninpo; Seikai wonders if they already mastered it but Sandayuu states that that's ridiculous and the essence is based on Heart, Technique and Body: Tsubasamaru is the "Heart", Kakure Daishogun the "Technique" and Muteki Shogun the "Body"; and all three are needed to defeat Daimaou.
Sandayuu soon reveals what the "essence of Ninpo" is, revealing the "Hidden Scrolls", if obtained, they would be able to control all three Gods the way they want. When Sasuke asks how to obtain them, Sandayuu admits he doesn't know: during the battle two-thousand years ago, the five scrolls were scattered. He does tell them to find them no matter what within a month before the resurfacing of Daimaou; Sasuke wonders how, but Sandayuu states if they don't, humanity will face it's end, stating that if Daimaou resurrects, those turned to stone will die and wonders if the team can live with that. Stating they don't have time, he gives them a map to split up and find their scrolls. Sandayuu states this is their journey of trial and tribulation before teleporting them out of the Wind Illusion Castle.
On a beach after leaving, Seikai wonders why the team has to split up to find the scrolls and wonders why they can't do it together; but Sasuke states they have no choice in the matter. Saizou wonders if Sasuke is OK with this with the team having never split up prior, as Jiraiya states if something happens, they may never see each other again. Tsuruhime walks forwards wondering about Keiko and Ryota, deciding to go on her journey, stating they're the only ones that can save those turned to stone, which Sasuke agrees with, adding they'll find the scrolls and reunite, being closer than they've ever been, which the team agrees with ultimately. Holding out their hands with their Promise Bracelets, they recall their memories up to then and their time together; with Sasuke adding this is not just about the essence of Ninpo but a trial for each of them to become true warriors within. Each states a parting word: Sasuke to find the scrolls, Tsuruhime to save the kids, Saizou where the scrolls are, Seikai showing his lacking confidence and Jiraiya upset about departing his friends as the five stare out towards the sunset as they all go their separate ways, bringing an end to "Pt. 1" of Kakuranger and the prelude for the "Youth Fierce Battle Saga", Pt. 2 of the series.
