Blitzkrieg!! The Strange White Bird (電撃!! 白い怪鳥 Dengeki!! Shiroi Kai Tori) is the twenty-third episode of Ninja Sentai Kakuranger.
Synopsis[]
Junior begins to abduct children for a ceremony to summon a powerful Yokai leader to Earth, which the Kakuranger must try to prevent from being completed.
Plot[]
At the Yokai Mansion, Junior is playing the piano as a voice calls to him; the voice asks him how long he must wait and to summon him to rule the world by his own hands. Realizing that the voice is "Daimaou", he stops playing as he's attacked by Yoki lightning.
Elsewhere, the Kakuranger are celebrating Tsuruhime's birthday as she thanks them before starting to cry. Saizou wonders why she's so emotional but the female ninja states she didn't think they'd be so close with each other due to how they weren't united prior, but Seikai states they're family now. Tsuruhime reveals "promise ring" bracelets she's been wanting to give them as a pledge of their friendship and to fight together from here on out; Sasuke thinks it's crazy but Saizou claims she wants to let them know she cares as they show them off alongside her. Two children, Keiko and Ryota, come by with presents and flowers for Tsuruhime as well as she shows her promise bracelets off; she states she got the idea from them as Ryota states their father is out of town on business and the two promised to get along until he came back thus they got the Promise Bracelets to keep the promise.
The kids and Kakuranger prepare for cake before a strange spirit emerges from the water, disturbing the team and smashing the cake and flowers! The spirit reveals itself as the Yokai Umibozu, who steals Ryota as Keiko yells out for him. Umibozu drops Ryota on a roof as he starts turning to stone; the Kakuranger arrive but are too late to prevent the transformation as the child keeps calling from within the stone. Jiraiya notices more children being gathered up and placed on nearby rooftops as they turn to stone; the sky soon darkens and lightning strikes the stone pillars, creating a circle and transforming the roof of a skyscraper into a bizarre skull-faced structure. As the Kakuranger wonder what it is, the people look out seeing the weird skull and Junior appearing in one of the eyes telling the dancing Dorodoro that they've been waiting for this day to revive their leader, Daimaou and build a Yokai paradise on Earth. He decides to use a ritual known as "Young Noble Junior on Stage" to summon the Yokai leader as he and the Dorodoro begin a song praising their desire to destroy the human world and replace it with their Yokai paradise.
Outside, even the Announcer wonders what is happening while Jiraiya wonders what Junior is going to do. Keiko cries over Ryota's fate as Tsuruhime assures that they will save him before the team heads forth. However, Umibozu sends out mines to stop the team and then breathes fire on the walls forcing debris to the ground as the Announcer tries to explain the episode's threat. Umibozu states that he will prevent them from interrupting Junior's ritual for resurrecting Daimaou: which has to be done inside the Yokai Skull created from the pure spirit of 15 children, with Umibozu hired to kidnap them for this. Sasuke claims he doesn't care about Daimaou but they will defeat him before the Yokai states all children that hears Junior's music will turn to stone; which is soon accomplished as children throughout the city are petrified as offering for Daimaou's advent.
Angered, the Kakuranger transform and summon their Kakuremaru but Umibozu spins them away; shuriken have no effect on him as he throws an anchor at Saizou and Jiraiya and slashes down Tsuruhime and Seikai with a sword while resisting Sasuke's kicks. Umibozu throws out more mines before he tries his Red Slicer causing him to be pushed back before using the Fire Whirlwind jutsu, forcing Umibozu to use the Yoki Cloud to grow and forcing the Kakuranger into Muteki Shogun. Umibozu slashes the mecha with it's sword making them use the Flaming Shogun Sword, but Umibozu catches it stating that they can't defeat him with this weapon, making him slash at them again and again. In the Skull ritual site, Junior continues to play summoning a black energy striking Muteki Shogun and throwing more debris down and even burying the Announcer! Umibozu uses the opening to attack making the Kakuranger worry that the fusion won't last long before they're hit by another beam attack, making Muteki Shogun fall to the ground. Umibozu states this is the Kakuranger's final moment as the team struggle to their feet and the Yokai prepares to attack them with his sword. The Kakuranger hold out their hands with the Promise Bracelets as Tsuruhime yells out for them, making them join together...until a strange bird emerges from out of nowhere attacking the giant Yokai! The bird, known as Tsubasamaru, attacks Umibozu with gun blasts from it's wings making the Yokai breathe out fire to attempt to get it and giving the Kakuranger enough time to stand. The Wind Illusion Castle soon appears with God Muteki Shogun rising; Sasuke wonders how without them using their jutsu, but Sandayuu appears before them stating that both Muteki Shogun and Tsubasamaru are living beings; when Sasuke asks, Sandayuu merely states the bird is Tsubasamaru and tells it to fuse, allowing for the bird and Muteki Shogun to fuse into a new formation: Super Muteki Shogun. Telling Umibozu about his new opponent, Sandayuu tells the Gods to use the "Muteki Cannon" to attack the Yokai, making him call out to Junior before falling. Muteki Shogun soon vanishes as Tsubasamaru flies away.
Sasuke asks what Sandayuu meant again but Junior soon emerges from the skull ritual site; turning into Gashadokuro, he tells the old man he did a good job bringing Tsubasamaru but that things are too late. Sandayuu states Junior is Gashadokuro, a leader of Yokai world, as the Announcer adds that it is a Yokai that will kill every human it encounters. Gashadokuro states that the ritual is complete and that Daimaou will soon arrive as a gate appears below the skull on the skyscraper, revealed to be the Seal Door and that Daimaou will appear in less than a month to destroy all life on Earth, human, animal and plant, and that a Yokai Paradise will be built on it's ashes.
The Announcer reminds the audience of the previous Seal Door that sealed the Yokai prior and wonders if the team will be able to defeat the villainous threats.
