Synopsis[]
Ryo, a simple restaurant worker, is brought in as one of five qi manipulators to become the Dairanger under Master Kaku to face the revival of the Gorma Tribe.
Plot[]
A mysterious boy with thick glasses sings while playing with a yo-yo by himself. At the same time, Ryo, delivers cooking supplies to the restaurant he works at, and is asked to take out the trash. Unknown to him, an unknown man is watching him.
While taking out the trash, Ryo is distracted by the boy with the yo-yo, and was knocked down by a bicyclist, with trash flying all over the road. Ryo cleans up the trash, and was met by Yumi, who helped him. It is then a tentacle dragged Yumi away, and Ryo gave chase. Yumi was dragged into a hole and disappeared, with her belongings being thrown out. The tentacle began chasing after Ryo as he runs away. Ryo runs into an alley where he hides, but was drawn out by the mysterious boy again, and was grabbed by a tentacle. It is then a giant Chinese Dragon, RyuseiOh, attacked the tentacle and took Ryo away with it, with the mysterious man watching the events unfold before him.
Waking up, Ryo finds himself in a dark room. Ryo finds a creaking door and runs through it, and encountered five motorcycles which come to life, and the red motorcycle tried to run him over. Running away and emerging into Tokyo Station, he notices three men started walking towards him. They grab him and takes him to their lair, where the mysterious man waits. He introduces himself as Kaku. Kaku explains the origins of the Gorma, how they possess a power called Yo Power, and the only thing that can oppose it is Qi Power, which Ryo possess. Ryo affirms he does not possess this power, and Kaku performs an attack knocking Ryo back. Kaku then flings a sword at him, Ryo inadvertently used Qi Power to dodge it. The other three men introduce themselves as Shoji, Kazu and Daigo. Kaku inducts Ryo into the Dairanger.
Later, a woman called Commander Gara appears with floating orbs in the sky. The next day, A Chinese girl arrives in Japan. Commander Gara meets up with Commander Shadam and Major Zydos at a seaport. Gara opens a suitcase, which shows a display of the Chinese girl. As the girl is walking, men riding bicycles attack her. She runs, but was surrounded quickly. She manages to knock some of them down with her Qi Power, but was sent flying as they ram her with their bikes. Ryo, Daigo, Shoji and Kazu arrives, as the bicyclist reveal themselves to be Gorma foot soldiers called Cotpotros. The four men introduce themselves to the girl as they run. The five steal bikes from the Gorma to escape.
The five were knocked down by a pickup truck, it is then the mysterious boy approaches them, transforming into his true form as Baron String. Baron String attacks the Dairangers, nearly killing Ryo, until Ryo remembers Kaku's words about Qi, and he catches the attacks. They activate their Aura Changers, changing them into the Dairangers. Ryo declares he will defeat Baron String as the team leap forth and battled the Gorma. The Gorma was defeated using the Lightning Blaze Destruction Wave attack, and the people he ingested was vomited out, including Yumi.
Baron String declares the battle isn't over yet as he pulls out an Enlargement Bomb, and grew giant. Telling Rin and Shoji to take the kids aside, Ryo takes the blast from the giant Gorma Minion as it rampages against its smaller enemy.
Back at headquarters, Kaku starts meditating and he floats into the air and performs a "Mythical Summoning". Ryo does something similar and uses his sword to summon the Mythical Qi Beast, RyuseiOh. Ryo climbs onto the dragon and commands it to fight Baron String.
