Bad Wisdom, Merging Caution (ワル知恵合流注意 Waru-jie Gōryū Chūi) is the sixteenth episode of Gekisou Sentai Carranger. It introduces Instructor Ritchihiker, a "villainy consultant" who comes to assist the Bowzock.
Synopsis[]
In hoping to improve their battles with the Carranger, the Bowzock hire Instructor Ritchihiker for consultation, unaware of his own long history with Signalman.
Plot[]
At the Pegasus garage, Kyosuke is sleeping in a car still muttering about how he wants to be friends with Kyosuke first as Signalman taps him on the shoulder, telling him that driving while sleepy can cause an accident, blowing a whistle into his ear waking him up. As Kyosuke confusingly asks what's going on, Signalman reveals he set up his Kobaan Base in front of the garage and that he's heading off on patrol to patrol for traffic justice as he rides off. Kyosuke barges into the Kobaan Base complaining on Signalman's tactic and that he keeps getting in the way and should just let them protect "Earsh" on their own. Turning around, he notices a strange device abandoned within.
At the BB Saloon, Zelmoda and several Gorotsuki notice a cake tempted to eat it but Gynamo reveals that Zonnette made it for herself as she continues to longingly look out towards Earth stating that Red Racer is an idiot for trampling over her heart with his bare feet and she'll forget about him by eating the cake; only to see Gynamo and the other Bowzock had ate it first, making her upset! Gynamo offers he'll do anything to improve her mood, and Zonnette asks them to turn "Earsh" into a firework this moment; but the leader states things haven't gone too well, Zelmoda adding they've hit a wall regarding how to deal with the threats. Grotch suddenly remembers a leaflet in the morning "space newspaper", revealing that it's for an "Evil Consultant" named Instructor Ritchihiker, who wants to help stymied villains and is offering a cheap price for his assistance. Gynamo likes the "cheap" part and tells Grotch to call him up, which he does; leading to Ritchihiker showing up immediately on the Baribarian! The instructor looks around for Gynamo revealing him as the Space Evil consultant to the Bowzock leader. Zonnette shows immediate suspicion to the instructor thinking that "cheap may not be better", but Gynamo counters that the cheaper Ritchihiker is, the better it is for him! Gynamo accepts Ritchihiker on as the instructor asks what he can help with as the president the Bowzock mission: defeat the Carranger and blow up "Earsh" like a firework, which Ritchihiker accepts. The instructor's first order of business is sending out the simple equation of "1+1", deciding to pull one a Gorotsuki named "JJ Jetton" that answered "3" instead of "2" seeing him as the perfect idiot to borrow.
At Pegasus Garage, the Carranger feel like they can't work with Signalman's base standing there and ask if they can tear it down which they agree too. As Signalman returns to base, Minoru decides to ask the officer to move it; the officer asks where the Carranger are and the team is forced to stop Minoru from revealing their identity as Naoki asks what he wants with the Carranger; Signalman reveals that the Carranger broke into the Kobaan Base while he was out and badmouthed him, shocking the team as he reveals that his Signizer reveals all as he plays back the insults Kyosuke made into it while gone. Signalman asks what Kyosuke means when he hears his voice and he states he doesn't in a different tone as the officer continues to play back the insults, revealing that Kyosuke keeps insulting him by stating that he should let the Carranger do their jobs making Signalman realize that the Carranger were in there! Asking where they went, the five point in another direction as he thanks them for cooperating and rides off. Kyosuke states he didn't know the Signizer would be able to record voices as Dappu appears stating the Bowzock have appeared.
As Signalman continues his patrol wondering where the Carranger are, he hears the Speeder Machines zoom by as the team search for the threat. Approaching a warehouse, the five try to sneak in as they discover Ritchihiker silencing them for making noise as JJ Jetton is studying, the punk having become a studious Gorotsuki to straighten him out! The Carranger are confused as they wonder what's going on as JJ Jetton goes through history notes about the Ottoman Empire taking over Constantinople. Ritchihiker introduces himself as the leader of the "Former Bowzock Rehabilitation Group", confusing the team as he states he wants to straighten up the Bowzock and put them out of commission to eliminate the universal traffic wars. Ritchihiker offers the Carranger to join the two of them for cake as they go on break, exciting the team as Signalman soon shows up, causing more problems. Signalman decides to arrest the Carranger for badmouthing him, but he soon notices Ritchihiker recognizing him and while the instructor tries to give a good first impression, the officer decides to arrest him as well until he knows more on who he is! Ritchihiker claims he's joking but Signalman claims he doesn't joke, only for Minoru to defend the instructor for his "Bowzock straightening ways" and tries to force the officer away with the other Carranger. Ritchihiker soon stops them as he removes some dust from his shoulder while sneakily stealing his Signizer and leaving with the Carranger, hiding it while wondering why a space cop is on "Earsh". As he probes his own memories, he remembers being brought in prior by Signalman accusing him of being a con artist, making him realize he has to eliminate the officer before he figures out who he is.
Signalman soon returns to the warehouse discovering that he left his Signizer behind, only to be shot at and trapped in an electrified cage! Ritchihiker introduces himself as the evil space consultant he encountered prior and that he's working for Bowzock at this moment. He states before he eliminates the Carranger, he'll eliminate Signalman as JJ Jetton takes the Signizer and shoots him in Gun Mode and the Wumpers lay bombs to blow him up as they all leave and the Gorotsuki abandons the gun as the warehouse explodes with Signalman trapped inside!
At Pegasus Garage, Dappu investigates Ritchihiker's card believing it to be fishy but Minoru doesn't believe so or the others as Yoko mentions that he offered cake. A signal for the Bowzock soon go off as the Carranger investigate, discovering JJ Jetton leading them towards him as he states he's cleaning up cans in a park, the others wondering how if he isn't fully rehabilitated yet. Asking where Ritchihiker is, the Gorotsuki states he's waiting for them at a party that he's set up. At the warehouse, the rubble burns as Signalman rises up from within. Meanwhile, Ritchihiker sets up wine filled with poison to offer to the Carranger. JJ Jetton brings the Carranger as the Instructor shows off for the "graduation" of JJ Jetton from his program exciting the team. Ritchihiker pours the wine for a toast, the team celebrating but are stopped as Signalman shoots all the wine glasses before they drink from them; the Carranger notice his injuries as he reveals the consultant was hired by the Bowzock! Ritchihiker tries to play dumb but Signalman uses the Signizer to reveal his true nature from a recording. Ritchihiker shows anger at nearly eliminating the Carranger as he throws down his wine glass and the Carranger throw down with the Wumpers with Signalman. Ritchihiker tells JJ Jetton to fight the Carranger as he abandons his studious personality for his true punk mode, brawling with the Carranger as he tosses the team around, Ritchihiker stating he isn't that bad for an idiot. JJ Jetton pushes down the Carranger and nearly strangles Red Racer until he steps on his foot, pushing him down as the team use physical attacks to push him down again and again before they use the Auto Punisher to finish him off.
Ritchihiker soon gives JJ Jetton Imocho imo youkan to make him grow as he leaves as the Carranger summon the Ranger Vehicles; JJ Jetton tries to fire eye beams at the Speeder Machines to prevent combination forcing Signalman to summon Sirender to allow for the fusion, using a Signal Flash to knock him down long enough to go into battle mode. JJ Jetton and Sirender fight as the Carranger complete transformation to RV Robo; the punk locking down Sirender with a leg lock until the Carranger use the Naniwa Kick to push it away and combined beam attacks until they finally use RV Sword's Gekisou Cut to finish him off and forcing retreat from Ritchihiker.
At BB Saloon, Ritchihiker complains it was a close one as he storms in to the cynical Bowzock, restoring his cool stating it's too easy to defeat the Carranger and he'll handle this and stating it was JJ Jetton's lack of ability that lead to failure. He soon works out the fee for his consultation stating the special fee with a discount to Gynamo and Zelmoda of 18 million, stating it's a bargain as the president denies paying it; making Ritchihiker reduce it first to 18 thousand, then 1,800; the president pleads to make it free as everyone falls down in disbelief.
