Illusions!! The Dog of the Gods (幻想！！神様の犬 Gensō!!Kamisama no Inu) is the thirteenth episode of Choriki Sentai Ohranger.
Synopsis[]
When Momo is stranded while trying to stop a Machine Beast trying to reawaken Mt. Fuji's volcano, she is rescued by a mysterious dog protecting the mountain.
Plot[]
In a mountainous region, a squad of Baranoia lead by Machine Beast Bara Magma excavates until it finds a stream of lava; throwing a rock in, it causes an explosion that destroys Barlo Soldiers and throws a human researcher around in an earthquake down a hill. A dog rushes to the man; who asks for it's help as it rushes across a bridge to find someone.
At UAOH headquarters, Miura explains that strange incidents are occurring near the woods of Mt. Fuji; showing strange fluctuations around the crust of the area and forcing the Ohranger to investigate. The team arrive around the Mt. Fuji region with OhRed, Blue and Green headed in one direction and Momo and Juri splitting up in another. Momo is soon attacked by Takonpas knocking her down as Bara Magma fires missiles towards her from the high ground forcing OhPink to roll down a hill and untransform. Bara Magma continues to fire missiles knocking off her Power Brace and spraining her ankle, allowing the Machine Beast to send Barlo to slaughter her.
Momo hides in the woods as the Barlo pursue, trying to keep the machines off her track. She soon sees the strange dog watching over her as she continues to hide from the minions, only headed down as the Barlo depart. Momo watches as the dog goes in and out of a cave that she follows into away from a Barlo pursuit party and Bara Magma's calls to find her and defeat the Ohranger. Momo continues to follow the dog but her sprained ankle renders her immobile until the Barlo finally find her, knocking OhPink down a waterfall and the minions to stab at water thinking they'd kill her, only to stop prior to the bottom and faint.
Momo comes to in a lodge hidden in the woods, where an old man had found her and treated her ankle with a balm before wrapping in a bandage to reduce the pain. Momo thanks him for saving her, but his grandson tells Momo that they weren't the ones that saved her, stating it was the "Dog of the Gods"; when Momo inquires, the grandfather wonders why she didn't see the dog when it came to the house prior leading them to the waterfall basin where she was; before introducing themselves as ceramics maker Goichi Shimada and his grandson, Shota. Momo soon notices her missing Power Brace; while at the same time the other Ohranger discover her bike and realize that she is missing. At the lodge, Shota asks if Momo can't contact her friends without her "radio" while she inquires about the "Dog of the Gods"; Goichi states that the dog appeared first in the early spring, always barking whenever a tremor was approaching and alerting of people stranded in the woods; with people in the area claiming he was sent to them by the Gods. Shota states that he ended up calling the dog "Johnny", delighting Momo as she admits that she does want to meet the dog again. However, lodge is soon attacked by Barlo Soldiers assaulting from all sides, forcing her to fight them off. In the field, Juri yells out for Momo with the other Ohranger, while Yuji discovers the lava holes and the remnants of Barlo Soldiers, making them realize Baranoia's connection to the plot and the idea that they may be trying to cause a magma eruption and an explosion of Mt. Fuji they need to stop once Momo is found.
Shota and Momo head into the woods stating he keeps seeing a strange man in the woods that he needs to lead OhPink towards; but Momo soon sees Johnny pursuing them likewise with her Power Brace in it's muzzle that she leads to him and gets her Power Brace back and contacts the other Ohranger to tell them about the Machine Beast activity before thanking the dog for saving her. Elsewhere, Shota notices Bara Magma with Buldont and Acha, stating that the magma holes are nearly ready for the Mt. Fuji eruption making the prince excited for the magma flow and making him wonder when the explosion will occur. Bara Magma states he needs to plant a powerful bomb in the main hole to make the underground lava explode as Buldont states he can't wait to see the lava flowing out destroying Tokyo! The prince soon hears Shota making him send Barlo against him forcing Shota to run for his life; when captured, Bara Magma tells the minions to throw the boy into the lava flow to make his body melt within! Hearing Shota's cries, Johnny leaves Momo and rushes to Shota's aid, biting Bara Magma and Buldont's hands!
Retreating to the moon, Buldont is coddled by his mother Hysteria while she yells at Acha and Kocha for letting this happen to her son. The empress tells her husband to slaughter the dog which he obliges with, sending Bara Magma to attack Johnny on Earth as it runs for it's life. Shota tells Momo to protect Johnny as she races to watch over the dog as it runs before more Bara Magma Missiles are fired towards it. However, the dog vanishes, upsetting Momo by the creature's obliteration and making her swear revenge against the Machine Beast as she transforms to face them down. OhPink fights off the Barlo before facing Bara Magma directly, the two colliding until she uses her martial arts skills to knock it back. However, upon landing, she resprains her ankle. Bara Magma yells at her for risking her life for a dog as he knocks her down and begins to use his jackhammer to attack the ground against her, but OhPink stands, concentrating her power to create the Flashing Miracle Kikou Shot at it and then the Hurricane Choriki Defenser, smashing up Bara Magma until it uses the Magma Beam and Missiles to knock the Ohranger female back and threatening it with being burned away. However, Momo is soon joined by the other Ohranger who shoot Bara Magma with the King Blasters and kick it down long enough to be crushed by the Giant Roller. Acha and Kocha soon grow it with the Enlargement Beam, forcing the Ohranger to use Ohranger Robo against it, pummeling it with punches and the Choriki Moa Cannon of the Cannon Head prior to using the Super Crown Sword to destroy the small assistant on Bara Magma's head and Crown Final Crash to destroy it.
Momo soon calls out for Johnny in hopes he is still alive, soon being joined by Shota until the dog suddenly appears nearby, making them happy he was alright. Goro states he thinks that they are right in the dog being a guardian from the Gods before Momo says goodbye to the protective dog as it runs away.
