Explosion!! A Baby (爆発!!赤ちゃん Bakuhatsu!! Akachan) is the twelfth episode of Choriki Sentai Ohranger.
Synopsis[]
Gorou is placed in charge of a neighbor's baby just as a Machine Beast is unleashed to turn baby cries into weapons of destruction.
Plot[]
On the moon, Hysteria is complaining about the smiling faces of human babies, wondering how it's so lovable before telling them to take it away. Buldont realizes how blind humans are seeing that babies make him sick; making Bacchus Wrath realize that as a means of attack: human brains have a program installed to make them think babies are cute; thus by having babies betray them, it would cause a panic to humanity and trample humanity to dust!
In a home, a baby named Kou is being cared by his mother before being put to bed in the quiet of the night. Out of nowhere, a song suddenly begins as a Machine Beast named Bara Baby appears, discovering the child as it fires a beam as it dances into the night to attack any babies in the vicinity with it's beam attack.
The next day, Kou's mother meets up with Goro, stating it's great to find him and asking him to watch over her son as she rushes to a big supermarket sale before rushing off. Kou starts getting upset as Goro tries to play with it; Shohei discovers him doing so as he explains the woman is his neighbor as he mentions they were going to play video games. Shohei makes a weird face making Kou start crying, but the crying causes a horrific noise making them hold ears and causes chaos around them! Goro tells Shohei to get the mother as he contacts headquarters, where Miura wonders if it's happening there too with reports of it happening all over with baby cries causing shockwaves making buildings explode! Yuji, Juri and Momo are shown trying to handle similar baby crying attacks as bottles explode around them and car windshields shatter.
Kou's mother returns as Goro pacifies it with a rattle, but Bara Baby soon appears trying to reach another newborn to take it to be it's friend! OhRed and OhGreen meet up with the team as they acknowledge Baranoia's involvement and try to force it to turn the babies back to normal as they transform to combat the Baro Soldiers. Bara Baby fires it's own supersonic attack forcing the team to hold their ears in pain before it fires a beam from a rattle and runs away with the team in pursuit. Discovering Kou and his mother, Bara Baby fires a beam from it's rattle making Kou cry uncontrollably and buildings explode around it, making the team protect the mother and child! With it's energy maxed, Bara Baby fires it's own receiver allowing for the babies throughout the city to destroy everything with their crying!
On the moon, Bacchus Wrath celebrate how babies have become a source of terror to humanity and Hysteria adds that if humans fear babies, they will stop having them, leading to humanity's downfall; which was their plan from the beginning! Acha and Kocha soon return from Earth; as the emperor inquires their research, the butler states the opposite is happening, since humans are working hard to stop the crying, shocking Bacchus Wrath! In a hospital, the mothers of the babies are taking them to the local doctors, working to try to figure any way to stop crying including Kou. Juri wonders about how to stop the babies and to change diapers, but one pees in her face. Still shocked, Buldont states that if people destroy a city, they should get the death penalty; but Bacchus Wrath laments that the concept of "human love" is just so self-destructive to them. He then states the best option now is to just take the babies so they can cause chaos to humanity. Bara Baby soon appears in the hospital, causing another sonic attack with them to destroy all property while it takes Kou from his mother.
The Ohranger pursue Bara Baby and Kou to a scaffolding where the baby is held on high over an oil refinery; making the team realize the chaos he could unleash if it cries out another sonic attack, destroying it and all of Tokyo with the baby as well! Momo states that Kou had his milk 30 minutes ago, so any crying won't have to do with him being hungry; but the mother states he may still get hungry due to eating a lot and would start crying when it happens! Goro decides to go up to save Kou before he starts crying again to get him out before he causes problems; asking his mother for both milk and a diaper to handle any problems. As the Ohranger rush in, Acha tells them they won't get any further as Kocha states the baby will cry and their world will collapse as the Baro begin attacking the team. Shohei tells Gorou to get up and leave the minions to them, but OhRed is still pursued by Baro he has to knock away as he rushes to feed it and Bara Baby continues to attack them. The other Ohranger transform, further fighting the Baro while Goro runs up the steps trying to get the minions off his back. Discovering Kou, Goro rushes as Acha realizes they need to make Kou cry before he gets there, forcing the Machine Beast to send out an attack with it's rattle shooting at him and knocking him off the steps. Kou's mother cries out as Acha wonders why Kou won't cry; but Shohei states that Kou isn't so evil that he's just going to cry because the machine tells him to! Acha tells Bara Baby to fire more disturbances to stop Goro, who finally reaches Kou to protect him and get him down. But at that moment, Kou prepares to cry but Goro tries to feed him, not being enough to stop him; OhRed soon tries to change it's diaper but that isn't enough either, making Acha yell that now the Ohranger is stuck and Kou will cry making the explosions occur!
Kou's mother yells that the problem is the milk: it went cold during the rush up and Kou won't drink it if it isn't warm; shocking Goro as his mother makes another warm milk while Goro tries to stop it before it starts a new sonic attack, further caused problems by a Takonpas attack making it fall down to the ground! With no time, OhRed transforms and leaps from the building catching Kou even as Takonpas attacks until he turns into a fiery phoenix and saves the baby, landing safely to the happiness of his mother! Goro transports the milk feeding the baby calming him; but Bara Baby states they will make it cry as another Takonpas attack begins, forcing the team to get the mother to safety and use the King Smashers to stop the fighter vehicles. Bara Baby uses another sonic attack to disable the Ohranger and his tambourine to attack; forcing OhRed to use his Choriki Riser to attack and for the team to disable it with the Big Bang Buster. Acha and Kocha soon grow it with the Enlargement Process, the Ohranger summoning the Choriki Mobiles for Ohranger Robo; the team fight against the giant Machine Beast punching it away and avoiding Bara Baby's Milk Bombs and laser attacks until blocking the beams with the Super Crown Sword and stopping it with the Crown Final Crash.
Later, the Ohranger play with Kou as his mother thanks them for saving her son; leading to him to laugh to the delight of the team of their restoration. Miura states they need to stop Baranoia for the sake of babies as well as he picks the baby up, only for it to start crying suddenly, leading to Shohei to try and causing it to cry even more, even in the hands of Goro until it's with his mother again.
