Ep. 12: Demon, Roar!! (邪鬼、吼える！！ Jaki, Hoeru!!) is the twelfth episode of No.1 Sentai Gozyuger. It features the debut of TegaSword Blue DekaClaw.
Synopsis[]
The "one-horned beast" that Gaia was looking for was a mysterious No.1 who came out of Onigokko No.1. Gaia jumps on the No.1, who is possessing his fiancé, Luna, like a beast, but is severely beaten in the process...
As Gaia is being treated for his wounds, Rikuo realizes his "true wish" and begins to talk about his secret past...
Rikuo decides to cooperate with Gaia, who is once again going up against the No.1...!
Plot[]
Continuing from the previous episode, a one-horned No.1 Monster is released from the defeated Onigokko No.1. Gaia recognizes him and starts attacking him fiercely, but the demonic No.1 throws him away, detransforming and injuring him. Demon No.1's exposed ribcage then suddenly opens, revealing the face of Luna, who now has yellow eyes and an angry expression and says she hates Gaia and will have her revenge on him, shocking him and the Gozyugers. Demon No.1 ended up sending a fiery attack from his crescent blade, which the Gozyugers barely able to block. As the flame settles, Demon No.1 is nowhere to be seen, Gaia's brown satchel is burned by the flame, and the aforementioned Wild Beast Tamer collapses from his injuries. Elsewhere, the battle between Sumino in TegaSword Black and Bouquet in Calendeus comes to a halt when Bouquet finds out that Demon No.1 has been released, shooting a barrage of bullets at TegaSword before retreating.
At No One World, Mr. Shining Knife and Mrs. Sweet Cake report to Queen TegaJune that Demon No.1 has been released. Queen TegaJune immediately ordered the Bridan general to retrieve the monster immediately as Demon No.1 is a valuable asset for her, and Mr. Shining Knife promises the Queen to devise a plan to recapture him. Kuon is curious about the kind of No.1 Monster that has been released, and Bouquet tells him that its name is Demon No.1. Or at least that was what it was supposed to be.
At TegaSword village, the Gozyugers tend to Gaia's wounds. Rikuo tells him if the woman that appeared inside Demon No.1 is Luna, and Gaia confirms it. He tells the Gozyugers that Luna was his veterinarian partner and eventual fiancée, who worked together with him to protect endangered species. One day, when they were on an expedition on the mountains, Luna unfortunately fell from a cliff to her demise and was taken by the one-horned No.1 almost immediately, with a helpless Gaia could only watch and screamed in anquish over their ill fate.
Demon No.1 being sealed in Onigokko No.1
Concurrently, Bouquet tells Kuon that No.1 Monsters are a form of incomplete parasites when they come to the human world, which necessitates their needs to possess humans with desires similar to theirs and obtain their full forms. However, Demon No.1 possessed Luna (Whose wish was to not die and remain with Gaia) at the exact moment she lost her life, which interrupted its generative process and resulted in it becoming not a No-One, but an abnormality irregular full of resentment and hate. To get control over Demon No.1, Bouquet let Onigokko No.1 absorb the berserker to stabilize it. Kuon realizes that Demon No.1 was created from a dead person, and in a twisted sense of amusement, wonders what wishes do the dead have.
Back at TegaSword Village, Gaia continues his story and tells the Gozyugers that after finding the Gaoranger Sentai Ring, he decided to master his One Beast One Performance technique so that he could save Luna. He then says he'll save Luna no matter what, despite the Gozyugers' confusion since she's already dead. He tells them he's not the guy to easily let things get away before walking away.
Rikuo follows Gaia, who's playing his ocarina on the place where Rikuo practices for his dance. He sees the sheet notes for the melody, Hibiki No Shirabe, and tells Gaia it's a nice song. Gaia reveals that Luna wrote the song, and recalls how kind and happy she was, and how her singing always made his day better. Luna loved animals, making her the true Number One Beast Tamer according to Gaia. Rikuo realizes that Gaia wants to die with Luna after freeing her, saying that he could hear that in his flute-playing because of his sharp hearing. Gaia confirms that and thinks that Luna hates him because he's the one who killed her. He reveals to Rikuo that Luna fell from the cliff when she saved him when he almost tripped. He starts crying over her death and the thought that she hates him for allegedly causing her death, leaving Rikuo unsure at what to do.
Meanwhile, Demon No.1 continues attacking people in a berserker rage. The Gozyugers minus Rikuo appears to fight him, but Kuon, accompanied by an army of Combatant Aryee, interrupts them, expressing his wonder at what the dead's wish is. Sumino is saddened at seeing Demon No.1, and Ryugi tells Kuon this tragedy is not even qualified for a Number One Battle criteria, but Kuon says that TegaJune sent him to capture Demon No.1 before transforming into Garyudo. Right after he does, Gaia arrives while playing his ocarina, swearing to save Luna at any cost, and transforms into Gao Red while fighting Demon No.1. The Gozyugers, now joined by Rikuo, transform while fighting Kuon and the Aryee.
Gao Red fights Demon No.1, but is unable to lend any hit on the monster. Meanwhile, Rikuo, Ryugi, Kinjiro and Sumino face the Aryee while Hoeru faces his brother, summoning WolfDeCalibur 50 while Kuon powers up his TegaJune. Gaia is losing to Demon No.1, to the Gozyugers' worry, as Ryugi realizes that Gaia planned to die alongside the said monster. Demon No.1 reveals Luna's face, which causes Rikuo to briefly stop fighting until the monster hides it again. Gaia charges at the No.1, not caring for what would happen to him, and suddenly finds himself embracing Luna. Unfortunately, his zombified fiancée pushes him back and detransforms him, before Demon No.1 enlarges itself with a dark aura, and ability that Kuon notes is unique. Demon No.1 prepares to attack Gaia with its large cresent blade, but Rikuo appears in TegaSword Blue and shoots a barrage of bullet at the gigantic monster. Rikuo then stands on TegaSword's palm and starts singing Hibiki No Shirabe. When Gaia asks him why, he tells him he heard Luna singing it when Demon No.1 revealed her face, and realized that it's the way to free her from Demon No.1's control. He asks Gaia to join him with his ocarina, and Gaia agrees.
GaoKing appears
Rikuo continues singing the song while Gaia accompanies him with the ocarina. Gaia and Luna find themselves confronting each other once again before transforming into Gao Red and Demon No.1 respectively. The song also miraculously causes GaoKing to revive from the Robo Graveyard and appear in the battlefield! The Spirit King agrees to help Gaia out, and the two mecha, with Rikuo and Gaia piloting them, start fighting Demon No.1.
TegaSword Blue DekaClaw's first appearance
Kuon mockingly claimed there won't be any miracle happening from such childish song, but Hoeru counter Kuon's mockery by exclaiming that his taste in music must've changed for the worst. After Hoeru kicked Kuon away, he tells Rikuo that he likes the song and lends him the WolfDeCalibur 50, which is enlarged and combined with TegaSword Blue to form TegaSword Blue DekaClaw. Rikuo uses the DekaClaw to tear a rift in Demon No.1 torso, and on the Idol cue, Gaia jumped from Gao Lion's mouth straight into the said rift!
Gaia freeing Luna from Demon No.1
Gaia, now in a cloudy, but bright area devoid of darkness, finds Luna free from Demon No.1's control and tearfully hugs her. Before he can tell her that he wants to die together, she asks him to live. She says that she'll find Gaia even when she's reborn, and starts disappearing into light particles. Gaia says that he'll also find her out when reborn, and that their eternal love will never die. They'll always sing Hibiki No Shirabe together. After Luna disappears, Gaia returns to GaoKing's cockpit with a grim but renewed determination to end Luna's suffering. Immediately afterwards, both Gaia and Rikuo perform a joint finisher - TegaSword Star Lion Duet - and destroy Demon No.1 as Hibiki No Shirabe, sung by Luna, plays in the background. As the last visage of Luna disappeared into Bright Light, Gaia bids farewell to his lover, finally found a closure in her unfortunate demise.
Gaia continues his journey
After the battle, Gaia comes to the Gozyugers and gives Rikuo his Gaoranger Sentai Ring. He tells him that he doesn't need it anymore, and that Rikuo is the Number One Beast Tamer since he can sing Luna's song. As he walks away, Rikuo asks him where he's going. Gaia answers that he'll continue wandering around, but this time live his life to the fullest, as Luna wished him to do. Rikuo smiles genuinely as he sees the former Universe Warrior walking away to his own journey, ending the episode in a hopeful note.

- The title of the episode contains the word Roar (吼える Hoeru), derived from the opening theme Gaoranger Hoero!!, in reference to the focus of the episode being Gaia.
