This article is about an episode in Choju Sentai Liveman.

The Skateboard to Escape the Maze (スケボー迷路破り Sukebō Meiro Yaburi) is the tenth episode of Choju Sentai Liveman.

Synopsis[]

Jou takes a delivery job to save a pizza shop - "Pizza Sweet" , which becomes more dangerous after a Brain Beast turns the town into a maze.

Plot[]

Jou is knocked over by a skateboarder who calls him an old man. Jou refutes this, but the teen explains anyone older than 20 is too old and shouldn't be at the skatepark. He pushes Jou over and skates away, but Jou catches up on his own skateboard. A girl (Yoko) approaches, identifying the teen as Shinya and trying to stop a fight from breaking out between Jou and Shinya. Jou is instantly smitten.

She takes them back to his pizza shop - Pizza Sweet - where she explains their business is struggling and Shinya takes it out on strangers. Jou offers to help Yoko save her business by making it the most famous pizza shop in Tokyo by delivering it on skateboard. Shinya doesn't like his scheme, thinking it's silly, and calls out Jou just trying to woo his sister.

While delivering pizzas, Jou almost knocks over Yusuke and Megumi, who question his antics.

Jou's antics are having a positive effect on sales. However, Shinya still refuses to deliver via skateboard like Jou.

Meanwhile, Maze Brain arrives in Tokyo. and creates a maze. Kemp explains how Maze Brain works - every place Maze Brain passes through will become a maze, and Maze Brain can rearrange these mazes on the fly - and the others applaud him for implementing Bias's "topological space theory" to a "three-dimensional level".

While delivering pizza to a man named Tanaka, Jou stumbles into one of these mazes. He finds that the map doesn't line up with the neighborhood and gets trapped in a wooden maze. In the maze with him are mailmen and schoolchildren.

Jou has been out for delivery for over an hour, and the Pizza Sweet customers are expecting refunds. Yoko wonders where Jou has gone, and Shinya says this failure was inevitable.

Jou runs into the skating Maze Brain, who knocks him off his feet. Jou rationalizes that the Brain Beast is behind the maze, and transforms into Yellow Lion to fight him, but Maze Brain just reflects his Live Blaster fire and runs him over before escaping into a flash of light. Yellow Lion laments Maze Brain's speed.

Maze Brain continues littering Tokyo with mazes. Blue Dolphin and Red Falcon explore with their Moto Machines and Colon flies above in the Machine Buffalo.

Yellow Lion manages to meet up with the other Livemen. They abandon the Moto Machines because the maze becomes too narrow. They head into an office building, finding it similarly labyrinthine. Kemp eventually shows up with Maze Brain and welcomes them to his "maze mansion". Jou curses them for interfering with his delivery service, but they teleport and dodge his punch. Jou attempts to escape Maze Mansion by jumping through a glass window and landing in the parking lot.

An injured Jou returns to Pizza Sweet where Shinya is answering the phones. Jou attempts to explain that the city has been transformed into a maze by Brain Army Volt, but Shinya doesn't believe him. Jou renews his promise to Yoko. Shinya questions how he'll do it, and Jou realizes he can remove the mazes by destroying Maze Brain. Megumi and Yusuke arrive, gifting Jou with a jet skateboard that moves 10x as fast. They've designed it, but he is the only Liveman who can skateboard. Shinya doubts it, because it looks like something out of a manga, and heads out into the street. Jou races after him, and saves him from a car crash (lost due to the maze).

Meanwhile, Colon has spotted Maze Brain from Live Buffalo. She sends Jou the coordinates, who wants to send Shinya home. However, Jou's lower leg has been badly injured, and he can barely skate. Shinya follows him, who takes the Jet Skateboard to avoid getting lost in the maze, but he really uses it to chase down Maze Brain. After he crashes into Maze Brain, Maze Brain prepares to attack Shinya in retaliation, but Jou arrives and saves Shinya. Kemp arrives with the Jinmmers, and the Livemen also appear. Jou transforms into Yellow Lion, awing Shinya. They fight the Jinmmer with their individual weapons, and Yellow Lion leads the charge, stunting off of the Jinmmer with his new Jet Skateboard.

The Livemen finish off Maze Brain with their Biomotion Buster. Guardnoid Gash grows Maze Brain with the Giga Phantom. Red Falcon calls in the Machine Buffalo and the Live Machines who assemble the Live Robo to finish him off again. Land Lion roars triumphantly.

Shinya performs deliveries with his skateboard. Yoko thanks Jou, explaining that Shinya is now taking the business more seriously. Jou explains that she owns the success because of how tasty the pizzas are. As the Livemen leave, Shinya asks if Jou is really just going to leave his sister. Jou says he doesn't have time for love. As he skates off, he falls. Yusuke and Megumi mock him for trying to act cool.
