Ep. 10: Go, Go, Go! Showa Has Arrived! (イケイケドンドン！昭和が来た！, Ikeikedondon! Shōwa ga Kita!) is the tenth episode of No.1 Sentai Gozyuger. This is the start of the second arc of the Gozyuger battle saga, featuring the debut of Black Daizyuzin.

Synopsis

Suddenly, Showa No.1 appears and goes on a rampage saying, "I don't accept your 2025!". He engulfs Kinjiro and Sumino and turns everything in town into the Showa era. Soon after, Kinjiro starts an emo Showa No.1 Battle with Showa No.1...?

Meanwhile, something strange happens to Meguru, who was taken away by Kuon. The robot he was riding on turns dark and turns on the Gozyugers.

Plot

At No One World, Queen TegaJune announces to Bouquet that she's expanding Buraidan's forces in order to collect the Sentai Rings. Kuon then enters alongside Meguru Osai, who has been revived and has his face covered with an x-shaped visor. TegaJune reveals that Meguru is now brainwashed to follow only her orders. Bouquet opposes the idea, but Kuon explains that he brainwashed him to utilize his ability to summon Daizyuzin, claiming it's a waste to not use it. When Bouquet asks him why he'd do that, TegaJune accuses her of defiance and sends a large shockwave that startles Bouquet. TegaJune then orders Bouquet to take Meguru as her servant, and she reluctantly complies.

At the human world, Kinjiro is walking around when he finds Sumino advertising a restaurant. Sumino gets embarrassed and hides inside the restaurant, and when Kinjiro asks her what she's doing there, she tells him she's only going undercover for a mission. A customer arrives and asks for his usual meal, which Sumino memorizes rather quickly despite her claims. The man happily walks away with his meal when he suddenly hears a No One monster asking him if he wants to return to the Showa Era before possessing him off-screen.

The Showa era arrives

Sumino admits to Kinjiro that while she's a detective, she's also working in the restaurant to support her family. Kinjiro says it's a really "Showa" thing to do, and Sumino is offended and asks him to not tell about it to the other Gozyugers. He tells her he meant that as a compliment, but suddenly Showa No.1 appears, startling both of them. Showa No.1 states his intentions of teaching the people of the Reiwa era how great the Showa era is, and then uses his powers to transform the city into an old-fashioned Showa town. Everyone is surprised, especially Sumino who finds her smartphone turned into an old rotary telephone.

At TegaSword Village (which was unaffected by the ability due to Showa No.1's barrier not covering the entire town) Ryugi gives Hoeru coffee on the house and sympathizes with him for his rough family issues. He recalls that Kuon took Meguru to No One World and hopes that Meguru is alright. Hoeru then proposes an idea about how to get to No One World.

Meanwhile, Sumino is amazed at the now Showa-looking town and wants to take pictures, but is unable to because of her rotary phone had no camera function. She asks Showa No.1 to change it back, but he tells her that back in the Showa era, people interacted with each other, which is something that Reiwa people need to learn to do more. She asks him what a No One Monster even knows about the Showa era, but Showa No.1 flips a table, scaring her. Kinjiro then confronts the No One and claims that no one will beat him in a Showa battle, beginning a Number One Battle between the two.

Showa No.1 demonstrates his knowledge by stealing children's playing cards, claiming that they don't play them Showa-style, and then by studying English through a cassette while napping, something that confuses Sumino. Kinjiro then decides to work out with the help of instructions on the back of a Manga, and then starts a dance party with Sumino. Despite his efforts, Showa No.1 is announced as the winner of the battle. To prove his point, he asks Kinjiro how he dials a number using a phone, and Kinjiro imitates calling someone on a smartphone instead of a rotary phone. Showa No.1 says that Kinjiro's desire to become young again and experience the Reiwa era has made him forget the Spirit of Showa era, calling him a stray who doesn't belong in either era before walking away. Kinjiro walks away in disappointment, leaving a worried Sumino alone.

Sumino is walking alone in a valley and is worried about the town being changed, when she passes by Saori and Aoi who are watching the sunset. Sumino thinks Aoi dislikes the new state of the city because of how inconvenient and old-fashioned it is, but Aoi encourages her to take a look at the sunset. As Sumino is gazing at the sunset with the Saori and Aoi, Saori explains that streets have been built in the valley, but since Showa No.1 have brought the city back to the past, it changed back into the beautiful valley and allowed them to watch the sunset, greatly touching Sumino.

Sumino continues walking until night comes and finds Kinjiro sitting near the border separating between the Showa-turned town and the areas of it that were unaffected by Showa No.1. Kinjiro is still sad because he believes that he's an outcast from both the Showa and Reiwa eras. Sumino asks him why he wouldn't stay in the Showa era that Showa No.1 recreated, and realizes that it's because his dreams are connected to the Reiwa era. She tells him that she came to realize that the Showa era is beautiful in its own way, while Kinjiro finds the sight of the buildings on the other side of the border to be beautiful. Ultimately, Kinjiro decides to not give up on his dream and proposes an idea on how to beat Showa No.1 at his game.

On the next day, Hoeru and Ryugi are looking around for circular objects, since Hoeru realized that the Buraidans use them to travel between their worlds. Despite finding ones, they have no idea how to get to No One World through them. Suddenly, Bouquet appears and asks for their Sentai Rings. Hoeru asks her what happened to Meguru, but she refuses to tell him and sends Aryee to fight them. Hoeru and Ryugi transform and start fighting. Bouquet decides to join the fight and summons a pair of pistols to shoot at the Gozyugers.

Meanwhile, Showa No.1 is watching Kaiketsu Zubat on a TV while eating Noriben (Nori Bento). Kinjiro and Sumino appear for a rematch of the Showa battle. Showa No.1 says it's useless, but Sumino takes a picture of him, which is suddenly edited to show him alongside Zubat. Showa No.1's amazement is further amplified when Sumino shows him some pieces of Zubat merchandise that were created in the Reiwa era. Kinjiro then demonstrates him how he can easily orders Noriben through a delivery app, and a deliveryman appears with various kinds of Noriben to please Showa No.1. Kinjiro tells Showa No.1 that in the Reiwa Era, you can still experience the Showa Era like never before. He decides to show him how great the Showa and Reiwa era can be when combined before he and Sumino, a Showa man and a Reiwa girl, transform to fight the No.1 Monster.

Kinjiro and Sumino begin fighting Showa No.1, who says that he still prefers the inconvenience of the Showa era regardless of their attempts to change his mind. Sumino then tells him that the people who lived in the Showa era didn't think it was inconvenient at all. Kinjiro adds that the people of the Showa era were looking forward to make a better future, telling the No One that he's actually the one who had forgotten the Showa spirit if he's refusing to also look forward, much to Showa No.1’s anger. Kinjiro and Sumino continue to battle Showa No.1, with an angered Showa No.1 attacking them with projections of Spinning Tops. Both Gozyugers cooperate to destroy the spinning tops, saving Showa No.1's victim before destroying him, with Kinjiro declared as the winner of this Number One Battle.

Black Daizyuzin appears

Meanwhile, Bouquet shoots powerful energy orbs at Hoeru and Ryugi, but Rikuo appears in TegaSword Blue to protect them. Bouquet, recognizing the Robo as the one who got her Rikuo merchandise damaged during their mecha battle, gets angry and calls Meguru and Daizyuzin, who has been recolored black and gold due to Meguru's corruption. Bouquet reveals Meguru's fate to the Gozyugers before retreating. Rikuo begins fighting him, but Black Daizyuzin blocks all of his bullets and sends Rikuo down. As Kinjiro and Sumino arrive, TegaSword speaks to the Gozyugers and tells them to use the Ninninger Sentai Ring. Hoeru is forcefully transformed into Akaninger by TegaSword and creates a large Goton Nin Shuriken after TegaSword briefly explained about resonating with Showa's spirit. The Ninshuriken then splits into five and creates TegaSword in its five formations (TegaSword Blue, Black, Red Dekaclaw, Green, and Yellow), which excites Ryugi.

And thus, the Gozyugers start fighting with Black Daizyuzin, with Hoeru leading the charge after telling the other Gozyugers to not stand in his way. During the scuffle, Hoeru succeeded in disarming the Black Daizyujin from its Mammoth Shield. Not wanting to lose their spotlight, Rikuo, Ryugi, Kinjiro and Sumino use all of their TegaSword finishers at once, with Hoeru dealing the final blow, destroying Black Daizyuzin and the visor that was used to control Meguru. Hoeru notices his teammates celebrating their victory personally and sighs in disappointment before howling in victory.

The Gozyugers find Meguru, now freed of the Bridans' control, who thanks them for saving him. He says that his wish to see a true Sentai team in action has been granted and wishes the Gozyugers luck in their future battles, claiming that his role is finally over.

Back at the restaurant where Sumino works part-time, she gives the customer who fell victim to Showa No.1 another bento. Kinjiro asks her if she's taken a liking to the Showa Era, but she denies it and calls him Kin-Jii, much to his embarrassment. She then tries to sell him food while still calling him with this nickname, leading to him leaving the store.
