Eiji Takaoka (高丘映士, Takaoka Eiji) is the Dazzling Adventurer Bouken Silver, alternatively Boukensilver^[1]^[2] (眩き冒険者ボウケンシルバー, Mabayuki Bōkensha Bōken Shirubā) of the Boukengers.

Eiji is 24 years old when he joined the Boukengers.^[3]

History[]

He is a descendant of the Takaoka Clan, those most likely responsible for having sealed the Ashu Tribe. He debuts in Task 17, as a monk-like warrior with a strange power in pursuit of the Ashu Tribe. TV STORY-Task. 17: The Ashu Mirror

Eiji at first wielded Karato's shakujo. It allowed him to perform the "Takaoka-Style: Ashu Soul Destruction," which was effective on normal Ashu. But Gai, now a Quester along with Rei, broke the shakujo with his hip and gunned the ornament into oblivion. As a result, Eiji's Ashu lineage surfaced and nearly overtook. This was until SGS created the Sagasniper for him along with a GoGo Changer allowing him to transform into Bouken Silver.

Because his Accel Suit is connected to the new Neo-Parallel Engines, he is not affected by the Gordom Engine. Satoru told Eiji that the Sagasniper had the same power as his shakujo. But this was eventually revealed as a lie, since Satoru knew that Eiji's heart fought against and could control his Ashu side with his own power.

When offered to be the Boukengers' comrade he initially agreed, but when he remembered his father Karato he hesitated and ran away. After talking with Natsuki and seeing his mother's tear, he realized his place in the world and joined the Boukengers officially. He joined the SGS Rescue division and received his silver jacket. His rivals are the Ashu Tribe & the Questers, specifically Gai. When Ouga was awakened, Eiji attempted to perform the Ashu Soul Destruction on Ouga. But his soul was dragged by the Ashu into the limbo between worlds. TV STORY-Task. 40: The Western Ashu However, Eiji managed to defeat Ouga there and managed to return to his body and help the others fight the Questers. In the end, Eiji finally defeated Gai as he had vowed and later setting up grave markers for him and Rei as a sign of respect. TV STORY-Task. 42: The Age of the Questers

During Boukenger vs. Super Sentai, to help his comrades, Eiji gave the Spirit of Hope to AkaRed to power up DaiVoyager to its Burning Legend form. When Masumi took leave, Eiji filled his spot during mecha formations. MOVIE STORY-GoGo Sentai Boukenger vs. Super Sentai

In Task 48, Eiji is reunited with his mother Kei once more in the house where he grew up in, and she helps Eiji discover what his personal treasure is, which is to have his own adventure. TV STORY-Task. 48: The Fearsome High Priest

In the finale, after the final battle with Gajah, Eiji spends the majority of his time in rescue work at SGS Rescue, assisting the Boukengers on the side until a new Bouken Red and Bouken Pink are recruited. TV STORY-Last Task: The Boundless Adventure Souls

A few years later, Eiji fought alongside not only his own team, but every single Sentai Ranger in existence, against the Empire of Zangyack when it attacked the Earth in the Great Legend War. After fighting against hundreds of Gormin and their Sugormin commanders, Akarenger noticed the fleet moving towards them. He gathered all the Rangers together and gave them the order to sacrifice their powers to wipe out the first invasion's armada. When Marvelous went to confront Basco, Basco revealed that there were more Ranger Keys than the ones that he, Marvelous and AkaRed collected. After Basco's first group of Ranger Key Clones were beaten, he summoned another group of ten clones (with a clone of Bouken Silver being one of them.) to attack the Gokaigers and kidnap them bar Marvelous. Battle1: Who is the Strongest in History!?[]

Eiji joined the Super Sentai Strongest Battle as a member of Vehicle Team. In the first round, his team fought against Legendary Team, with Bouken Silver engaged ChangePegasus. In the second round, Eiji and Go-On Red fought AkaNinger and Sasori Orange of Oddball Team. When he clashed with Sasori Orange, he revealed that he was unable to contact the SGS even though he could still transform. Although his duo was having an upper hand in the fight, Eiji and Sosuke accidentally crashed into each other and was knocked out of transformation. While they were busy arguing, Oddball Team was able to grab the gem and won the battle. Disappointed, Eiji told his successors to continue their Precious adventure with their teammates, before disappearing. TV STORY-Battle1: Who is the Strongest in History!?

Personality[]

Aloof and somewhat arrogant, to Eiji, the world's Precious are of little value to him; all that concerns him is the Ashu Tribe. And this attitude tends to rub others the wrong way, especially Masumi. Furthermore, Eiji's father Karato had history with the Ashu and was slain by Gai, which is the source of Eiji's aggression. His source of aggression is also the fact his own mother Kei was an Ashu as well, making Eiji a half-human half-Ashu hybrid who believed his birth was an excuse to continue the Ashu bloodline.

Bouken Silver's insert themes are Mabayuki Senkou! Bouken Silver & Gin'iro No Kaze Ni Fukarete.

The default Accel Suit for Eiji Takaoka. Activated using the Go-Go Changer, the Bouken Silver, alternatively Boukensilver^[1]^[2] (ボウケンシルバー, bouken shirubā) Accel Suit was developed by S.G.S. for their S.G.S Rescue squad which would provide technical rescue services, which include emergency medical and firefighting services, during Precious-related emergencies. This suit was also the first to be powered the Neo Parallel Engine.

Though possessing amazing, natural physical capability, wearing this Accel Suit makes Eiji even more formidable. While this can be attributed to the Neo Parallel Engine, the suit's SGS Silver Fiber (SGS(サージェス)銀ファイバー,, sājesu gin faibā) weave provides greater flame resistance and durability while also increasing and improving the wearer's strength and resilience more than usual SGS Fiber. While stated to be more physically demand than other Accel Suits, Eiji, with his abnormally high athleticism and being trained in the Takaoka style, handles this Accel Suit with no effort at all.

Sagastrike (サガストライク,, saga sutoraiku): Sets the Neo Parallel Engine on the Sagasniper to maximum and fires a supercharged energy blast from Sniper Mode.
Sagaslash (サガスラッシュ,, saga surasshu): Sets the Neo Parallel Engine on the Sagasniper to maximum and hurls a light blade with a swing of his Bouken Arm.

Abilities[]

Ash Soul Extinction (アシュ魂滅,, ashu konmetsu): Used to extinguish the souls of Ashu. This technique usually requires a staff, but can be activated using written symbols and pray.

Evil Penetration (邪気貫通,, jaki kantsū): Penetrates the barrier. However, it consumes a considerable amount of power and takes considerable damage, so it cannot be used easily.
