Synopsis[]
Tsuyoshi's beloved wife, Miho will be commended as an excellent beautician, but he lied that he couldn't attend the party because of his work. He thinks that Miho will be ashamed of him, no matter what he did. To Tsuyoshi who longs to become a man suitable for Miho, Kaito tells him that he can become a man who can use points. Tsuyoshi, who was confident that everything went well, tries to scout Taro Momoi to his company.
Plot[]
On a bright and early morning, Tsuyoshi and Miho are leaving their apartment. Tsuyoshi congratulates Miho for receiving an award for her work as a beautician. Miho thinks it is because she has a loving husband to support her, but Tsuyoshi thinks it is because she is amazing.
Later, the Kijinos arrive at the hotel where the awards ceremonies are being held, but Tsuyoshi decides not to go with Miho, claiming he forgot to do some office work and cannot go to the party. Miho is disappointed but does understand if it involved his job. She leaves and Tsuyoshi thinks about his insecurities, fearing he would only embarrass her and how someone like him isn’t good enough for her. The taxi driver asks Tsuyoshi if the beautiful woman with him was his wife and Tsuyoshi does not answer.
As he heads into Cafe Donbura, Tsuyoshi’s insecurities continue, fearing Miho will leave him in a divorce someday because he is not good enough. Kaito notices Tsuyoshi walk in and greets him, with the latter requesting an American coffee. Tsuyoshi worries about his job as he is failing and is not much better as a warrior, fixated on memories of all the times he messed up. Tsuyoshi thinks he needs to be the kind of competent man that would be worthy of Miho’s love, like Taro Momoi, but doubts that he can. Tsuyoshi says aloud his desire to be more capable, Kaito arrives with his order and says that using “points” will change Tsuyoshi’s fortunes. At first, Tsuyoshi doesn’t believe Kaito and says if such a thing exists he would have used them by now. Kaito tells him to go ahead and do so, much to Tsuyoshi’s confusion.
The next day at Pheasant Consult, Tsuyoshi is praised by his supervisor for his proposal, which was approved, and it is considered the most innovative plan for the fiscal year. He is encouraged to keep up the good work.
At Cafe Donbura, Haruka and Shinichi decide to finally speak with Taro. Taro wonders what they wish to ask him, with both of them saying they should have done this sooner, asking what is the purpose of their mission as warriors, who their enemies are and what they want, who exactly Taro is and what is going to happen to the members of the team. Taro responds he doesn’t have all the answers, he simply knows what needs to be done. Haruka is unsatisfied with that response, but Taro simply asks if they need a reason for everything. What needs to be done will become clear to them when the time comes. Shinichi finds that a zen response but they are normal people unlike Taro. He goes further saying Taro needs to be more understanding with people, but both he and Haruka are instantly transported to Jin’s prison.
Jin says it is the first time he has spoken to two of them and his son has no answers because he IS the answer. The team must simply learn from Taro… but Jin realizes it may be too soon for that now. Haruka rightfully says nothing that is going on makes any sense, Jin lowers his hood, gets up and decides to give some explanations.
The enemy that they face are called the Noto, beings who originate from a higher plane of existence than humans. Certain humans who are driven by intense desire become Hitotsuki and the Noto eliminate these humans. Shinichi asks why do the Noto hunt and kill these people, Jin explains that the world of the Noto is partially formed from emanations of the human mind, disruptions of these emanating energies can make the Noto world unstable. The strongest disruptions humans create come from desire, thus the Noto reject all human desire.
Shinichi says he believes in fate and he is willing to be part of a greater cause by being on the team, but he asks if any of them can leave the Donbrothers if they choose to. Jin says if they collect enough points they can be allowed to leave or have their greatest wishes come true. However, Jin does warn that using the points unwisely will result in the person involved to suffer greater misfortune. Haruka asks what the points are and how to get them, but Jin says that is something they should ask the “admin”. Shinichi asks who the mysterious admin is but Jin declares their visitation time is over and sends them back.
At Pheasant Consult, a flustered office worker is helped by Tsuyoshi to submit her work on time and then he heads out to do sales work. As he is walking, Tsuyoshi sees a van that swerved to avoid hitting a cyclist go out of control and quickly changes into Kiji Brother to stop the van, saving the driver from crashing into a building. The driver gets out and thanks his rescuer, but modest Tsuyoshi says it was nothing. Tsuyoshi has been having a really good day, wondering if those points Kaito was talking about have something to do with it, but doesn’t think that is possible.
At the base of the Noto, Sononi asks if the others have found anything on the Rangers, especially Don Momotaro as she is particularly interested in him. Sonoi says he spoke with “the council” about it, but they have not responded yet. Sonoza says that they are dealing with humans and wonders how long will they will be amused by them. Sonoza then wonders why humans laugh and what it even is. Sononi wonders about love and its value, as she doesn’t understand it. Sonoi says it is because humans are primitive creatures compared to them, the art humans make is an expression of their lack of perfection, showing their vulnerability and struggles as a species. Sonoza stretches and distorts his face to try smiling while Sononi says despite this, humans are fascinating.
Tsuyoshi returns to work and his manager, furious, says that the company president wants to speak with Tsuyoshi in his office…
At home later that night, Tsuyoshi tells his wife that he is being offered a promotion to the chief of his department. Miho is proud of her husband and offers to cook a special dinner tomorrow but Tsuyoshi doesn’t want her to slave away in the kitchen and offers to go to a nice French bistro and dine out since his promotion comes with a pay raise. Miho is unsure as fancy restaurants make her nervous and uncomfortable, but Tsuyoshi says he will be with her so she has nothing to worry about. Miho smiles but still seems uneasy.
At Shirokuma Express, Taro returns from a bicycle delivery route only for Tsuyoshi to pull up in a luxury sedan. Taro is ready to load up his delivery van when one of his coworkers tells him that Tsuyoshi wants to talk to him.
A few minutes later in the car, Taro is being offered a job at Pheasant Consult as Tsuyoshi sees him as a valuable asset to the company, but then insults him by saying being a delivery man is a waste of Taro’s talent. Taro doesn’t understand as he is satisfied with his job, he delivers both packages and happiness to people and that is enough for him. Tsuyoshi says that this is a chance to move up to a big job, but Taro says he believes no job is big or small. Tsuyoshi remarks that Taro is less impressive than he thought and is a disappointment. He tells Taro he can get out now. Taro at first exits the car but asks if Tsuyoshi is feeling okay as he is “weaker” than he was before. Tsuyoshi denies that as he has never been better and drives off.
At a cafe, Sononi is having tea when a nearby patron asks to join her. She doesn’t mind and the man flirts with her saying how beautiful she is, so beautiful in fact that it makes him quiver. Sononi asks if that is an expression of love, to which the man says it is, a true display of his feelings. Sononi calls him boring, puts her tea down, and blows on the man’s face to reveal a tiny door on his forehead. She examines it, saying that soon the door will open and walks off. The man is confused about what she said, yet still smitten with Sononi.
At a hospital rooftop, two nurses are having lunch only to be interrupted by Sonoza. He asks them if they can teach him to laugh, making eerie noises in his attempt and then asks if he did it right. This naturally upsets the nurses and a bored Sonoza thinks they are useless. He blows air at their faces and he examines their foreheads, noticing one nurse’s door is open and a monster is ready to emerge. Sonoza takes interest in this as he examines her.
At Cafe Donbura, Haruka is working but also wondering about the points system, their wish granting abilities and the implications of misfortune that they could bring. Kaito silently observes Haruka working, but his facial expression seems to indicate he knows something she doesn’t.
At the bistro Alpina, Tsuyoshi and Miho are enjoying an evening meal but the former is overdoing it as he rented out the bistro for the night and seems to want more expensive wine despite Miho saying it’s good enough. Tsuyoshi’s overcompensating extends to his attitude, as he is a bit mean to the waiting staff demanding that the heat be turned up and puts on an air of masculine confidence to impress Miho. Miho is not impressed and asks about his sudden change, Tsuyoshi simply tells her he is trying to become the man she deserves. Miho tries to speak her mind about this, but suddenly becomes unconscious much to Tsuyoshi’s shock as he tries to wake her up.
Miho is rushed to the hospital and put on an IV and breathing machine, with Tsuyoshi at her bedside holding her hand. The nurse, Kirita, comes in and tells Tsuyoshi the doctors are running tests to find the cause of Miho’s condition. She gets called away by her coworker to an emergency in room 1102. Miho’s breathing gets strained and Tsuyoshi blames himself for what has happened.
Kirita races down the hall with medical equipment and trips, getting yelled at by a senior nurse for her clumsiness. Kirita desires to work harder and harder for her patients as she isn’t good enough…
At Shirokuma Express the following day, Tsuyoshi challenges Taro to a duel, telling him about how Miho is in the hospital. Taro is not following him on his logic pertaining to being challenged, Tsuyoshi says he needs to be a more competent and capable man to make Miho get well. He wants to surpass Taro in order to do this. Taro reminds Tsuyoshi that he said yesterday he was disappointed in him. Tsuyoshi admits he did but rejecting his offer for a new job proves how strong Taro is compared to him.
The two walk to a shrine, with Taro asking what challenges should they do. Tsuyoshi thinks any challenge is fine as he is not good at anything so he has no specialties. Taro says he has none either but for the opposite reason as he is good at everything and sees both of them as alike in a way.
At the hospital, Kirita’s mounting stress over her job builds her desire to help her patients to a breaking point and she becomes Dobutsuki. Now warped mentally by her desire, she feels the best way to help treat people is to “hospitalize everything that lives” and goes on a rampage to create more patients by attacking people.
At the shrine, Taro asks Tsuyoshi to choose what contest they should partake in. Tsuyoshi thinks about it, envisioning a sumo match, an arm wrestling match and a thumb wrestling match, but he loses in his fantasy scenarios against Taro and can’t think of a way to win.
Their showdown is interrupted by people fleeing in terror from Dobutsuki, who is chasing them with the intent to injure all of them so she can nurse them in her hospital. Taro pulls out his DonBlaster and changes into Don Momotaro right in front of Tsuyoshi, who is shocked that Taro was Don Momotaro all along. Anoni appear and Tsuyoshi rushes in to help, changing into Kiji Brother. He asks about Taro being a Ranger all this time, to which Taro says he was correct in assuming that they are alike. Tsuyoshi decides that whoever beats the most monsters wins the contest but he is interrupted by the remaining Donbrothers arriving and Sonoza attacking them all.
Sonoza recognizes Don Momotaro as “the one who laughs a lot” and asks him if his laugh is correct, doing another unusual laugh and then charging at him. Don Momotaro says Sonoza’s laugh is not right and shows him the correct way to laugh as they trade blows. Tsuyoshi tries to fight using the Patranger Avataro Gear, but as Patren 3gou he fails to do any damage to Dobutsuki and gets trampled, pleading for Don Momotaro to help. Don Momotaro is annoyed about what a handful Tsuyoshi is, but comes to the rescue. After knocking Dobutsuki to the ground, the team executes the Momotaro Slash and swiftly defeat Dobutsuki. The Zyuohger Gear is ejected from Dobutsuki’s body and transforms into the Zyuohger Avataro Gear once Don Momotaro picks it up.
Sonoza quickly attacks Don Momotaro and Don Momotaro uses his Alter Form and the newly acquired Avataro Gear to become Don Momotaro Zyuoh Alter. In this form, he flies around Sonoza and uses the mini Zyuoh Cube mechas to attack him while laughing. Eventually, Sonoza retreats after a final attack weakened him.
At the hospital, Tsuyoshi checks on Miho, who is feeling much better to his relief. Miho thinks she got sick because she was overworked and apologizes to her husband for scaring him. Tsuyoshi says its fine as he should apologize, he confesses that he gave up his management position. Miho is glad about this as she did not like Tsuyoshi being an arrogant big shot and loves him as he already is, flaws and all. Tsuyoshi thinks that is a bit mean but they laugh together. Taro is standing outside the hospital room and thinks Tsuyoshi won their duel. Taro reveals to the audience that he could never make a woman smile the way Tsuyoshi does for Miho and silently walks away as Kirita passes by him.
At Cafe Donbura, Kaito is on a laptop and notes that Kiji Brother’s points have lowered. but the matter of Tsuyoshi’s happiness is settled for now. The laptop reveals Kaito is monitoring the Donbrothers and their progress in points.
