Don 2: Big Peach, Small Peach (おおもも、こもも, Ō Momo, Ko Momo) is the second episode of Avataro Sentai Donbrothers. It features the debut of Inu Brother, Shinichi Saruhara, Miho Kijino, Don Momotaro Alter, the Ryusoulger Avataro Gear and Sonoza.

Synopsis

Tsuyoshi Kijino is an ordinary office worker living a happy life with his newly married wife, but things take a sudden turn when he transforms into Kiji Brother. He keeps this a secret to his wife. Meanwhile, Haruka Kitou continues her search for this "Taro Momoi" as she decides to follow such a strong man in the city. In her search, a woman who has desire for youth transforms into Resshaki. Haruka tries to transform into Oni Sister to stop her.

Plot

Haruka is still trying to process what has happened to her over the past few days. In the meantime, she has taken a part time waitress job at Cafe Donbura to earn money since she lost her job at the manga studio. Unfortunately, many of the patrons recognize her from the news and speak ill of her, pointing and mocking her in whispers. Embarrassed and ashamed, Haruka asks her boss Kaito if she can wear a disguise so people will not recognize her. Kaito refuses such a request as he quietly reads a copy of First Love Hero, then asks if she really plagiarized the manga. Haruka says she “Full Power, Full Stop” didn’t. Kaito does not understand what she is talking about. Haruka narrates that all her hopes of getting her life back rest on what Jin Momoi said: finding Taro Momoi, wondering where exactly she can find him.

Elsewhere, Taro is making another delivery and makes a bond with the customer, who turns out to be Tsuyoshi Kijino. Taro notices that Tsuyoshi’s arm is in a sling and offers to help. Tsuyoshi tries to refuse but Taro encourages him to trust that he knows what he is doing. Taro pulls his arm after removing it from the sling, which causes Tsuyoshi to scream out in pain, but soon he feels better and has full use of his arm back. Tsuyoshi is grateful as Taro leaves, thinking he is a cool, but strange person.

Tsuyoshi begins narrating, saying he isn’t anything special and was pretty normal until one day. In a flashback, Tsuyoshi gets off the bus from work and is using his phone at a shop. A mysterious slot machine pop up appears and pink sunglasses attached themselves to his face after knocking his glasses off. He is shocked to see strange virtual things floating all around him. Later, on a bike ride home, a DonBlaster suddenly appears and Tsuyoshi transforms into KijiBrother for the first time. Tsuyoshi immediately freaks out upon changing and is shocked he now has long legs.

Tsuyoshi narrates that misfortune befell him soon afterwards, falling down the stairs and dislocating his arm, his bicycle was stolen, he was late for work and his boss hated his presentation proposal for the redevelopment of a shopping district. He lamented that he is average, but he waits for his wife to leave work at quitting time to pick her up for dinner. He is happy, as Miho is his pride, joy and hope as a married man of three months. Another misfortune almost happens as a speeding truck was about to run over Miho, but Tsuyoshi quickly changed into KijiBrother and warped her out of the path of the truck. Miho was startled and had her eyes closed the whole time, completely unaware her husband is now a superhero. When she opens her eyes, she is confused, but Tsuyoshi simply says that maybe God protected them. Miho thinks it was the power of love, knowing somehow her husband protected her and hugs him. Tsuyoshi is elated and thinks that things aren’t so bad after all.

At Shirokuma Express, Taro and his coworkers are enjoying a bento box lunch break, but they take advantage of Taro’s sincere honesty and win games of Rock, Paper, Scissors for bits of his lunch because Taro tells them which of the three he will use in each match and they counter with the correct way to defeat each one. Sanae tells Taro to stop playing, it is great that Taro strongly adheres to honesty but if he takes it too far he will be made into a fool. The other coworkers try to butter up Sanae by saying she looks younger today. She is flattered and asks Taro how old does he think she looks. Taro, bluntly honest to a fault, says she is 68, upsetting her but she sighs and says that is correct.

In the bathroom, Sanae laments her age in the mirror and wishes she could be younger. A red aura emerges outside and moves towards Sanae.

At Cafe Donbura, Haruka serves a man some coffee, who observes that his waitress is the disgraced mangaka Haruka Kitou. She is surprised, as she was wearing her disguise and wondered how he figured it out. He uses Holmesian deductive observation to see she wrote a note on her hand about returning a visitor pass to Zyodansha, therefore she is obviously formerly of employ there. She is concealing her identity, thus is hiding from the public for some reason and the newspapers spoke of a disgraced manga artist who plagiarized a manga for her stories. He then confesses he has no money to pay for the coffee, as he is disgusted by the very concept as it is the source of mankind’s woes and evils. Even stranger, he proposes to pay for the coffee by reciting a haiku. Haruka complains to Kaito, but he is surprisingly fine with such an arrangement. The man recites a haiku about the winds of spring, impressing Kaito and he is able to leave the shop without paying.

Haruka sits down and checks her phone, seeing more news coverage of her supposed plagiarism and sulking. Jin suddenly appears through her phone and gives instructions: At 3:00 PM tomorrow at the Rashonomiya intersection, Taro Momoi will appear before her and reminds her to bow and pledge loyalty to him. Haruka demands to know who Jin is and if that will even change her fate, but Jin disappears. Kaito overhears this but says nothing.

At Shirokuma Express, a woman in her early 40s has appeared wearing Sanae’s work uniform and ID badge. Despite her claims she is Sanae, the staff don’t believe her and think that she is her daughter or younger relative. She laughs at the comment and asks Taro how old she is, he once again responds that she is 68. This upsets Sanae and she gets a headache, desiring to be even younger as the red shadow emerges again.

Taro makes another delivery to a Tsubasa Inuzuka, only to find the police are chasing his customer and Tsubasa tosses his package and runs away. Taro remarks he could not bond with him. Tsubasa gives the cops the slip, using black sunglasses to find a hidden door to warp away from them, but also commenting he won’t get caught for a crime he didn’t commit.

Haruka is waiting at the intersection for Taro Momoi, but missed him driving by due to her looking at her watch to check the time. She instead sees a young man in a brown long coat carrying a spear as the van passes by her and once again mistakenly thinks that someone else is Taro. She follows him but Sanae blocks her path and says she needs to be even younger. Sanae falls and Haruka upsets her by calling her Obaa-san, implying she is still old. She screams and gets another headache, but suddenly regresses into a woman in her 20s and smiles in a way that shows she is becoming mentally unstable. Haruka uses her sunglasses and sees a monster hovering over Sanae as she walks away. Sanae finds Taro, who despite her being 40 years younger he still recognizes, and once again asks about her age. Taro once again says she is 68. He kindly tells her to head back to the office as it is getting too cold outside for her, driving off. Sanae is even more upset and demands to be younger, as train tracks emerge from her body and she drains the life of several bystanders, then changes into Resshaki.

The creature begins absorbing humans into its body, as Haruka hesitates since she is scared. She wants to flee, but upon seeing more people being absorbed, she resolves to fight and transforms into OniSister. She pleads for Sanae to remember she is human in a struggle but Sonoi appears to kill Resshaki as he finds her greed disgusting. Haruka protects her, refusing to let Sonoi kill a victim again with so little regard for life. She is choked by Sonoi but the man with the spear shows up. Haruka escapes, kneels and pledges loyalty to “Taro” but the man calls her a pest. Sonoi tells the man, named Sonoza, to deal with her as he pleases when he asks what to do with the Ranger. Sonoza becomes an armored warrior like Sonoi and sends Haruka flying back. She tries to reach Resshaki before Sanae is killed by Sonoi but is blocked by Anoni and Sonoza.

KijiBrother arrives from the air to assist and fights the Anoni and a voice echoes proclaiming he has no leash or collar and will not be put in “the doghouse”, revealing a tiny Black Ranger called InuBrother, who runs under Haruka’s legs and pummels an Anoni. She is surprised about a dog being her ally, but the Ranger says that his form isn’t by choice. Both male Rangers use their Ryusoulger Avataro Gears, made from the transformed and previously purified Ryusoulger Sentai Gear, to become Ryusoul Black and Pink respectively. InuBrother is happy to be his normal height again in this form, though Tsuyoshi is embarrassed as he retains Ryusoul Pink’s skirt, realizing the suit is meant for a girl. Despite the two making progress clearing the grunts, both do not seem to work well together as InuBrother is a loner and KijiBrother is a bit clumsy.

Taro arrives and transforms into Don Momotaro while everyone is distracted, once again making his grand entrance. He challenges all three of his enemies to a 3 way duel contest but tries to focus on Resshaki. He then uses an Alter Change to become a tiny mecha, his soul leaving his body to pilot it. The other Rangers don’t understand why their comrade is suddenly unconscious. Don Momotaro Alter uses his surroundings to inflict rapid damage and hide from Sonoza and Sonoi behind doors for sneak attacks. Having enough of Don Momotaro’s antics, the two leave and Resshaki tries attacking Don Momotaro’s body with the Rangers trying to keep him safe by carrying him. Don Momotaro regains control of his body and after knocking Resshaki back orders his team to execute their finishing blow, the Momotaro Slash.

They defeat Resshaki, who then grows into an evil twisted version of the ToQger Red Ressha and Don Momotaro chases after her, summoning Zyuran Tyranno to form Don ZenkaiOh. Don Momotaro uses his robot to ride on top of the train but it throws him off and jumps through wormholes to evade him. Don ZenkaiOh uses the Don Leg Buster to slow Resshaki down and cuts her tracks, causing the mecha to derail and crash. Don Momotaro then quickly uses the Don Zenkai Crash to end the battle and purifies the ToQger Sentai Gear, which transforms into the ToQger Avataro Gear. Zenkaiser Black collects the Gear and leaves.

Sanae awakens, now back to normal, but confused about what happened as Taro looks to see she is alright from afar and leaves.

At Shirokuma Express, the staff enjoys Sanae’s box lunches and Sanae asks Taro how old she is. Taro again responded that she is 68, but considers her feelings and tells her she is full of energy today. Sanae thanks him for the kind remark and Taro smiles.

At Cafe Donbura, Kaito examines the two Avataro Gears that the team collected while observing Haruka working. Haruka wondered if Don Momotaro is the Taro she is searching for but again is in denial about that.

A montage of the Rangers goes on, Taro once again is losing at Rock, Paper, Scissors to his coworkers, Tsuyoshi is being ordered around by his boss, the man from the cafe is observing a flower garden and writing a haiku with a brush and Tsubasa is walking the streets alone as wanted posters are being put up around the city, ending the episode.
