Demon Sword Priest Mad Torin (魔剣神官マッド・トリン Maken Shinkan Maddo Torin) was the Archaeopteryx-themed bodyguard of Hundred-Faced High Priest Chaos of the Deboth Army and a major antagonist in Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger.
History[]
Created by Chaos, Mad Torin is the evil doppelganger of Wise God Torin who is the opposite of him in every way. His design is the realization of what Torin would have eventually looked like if he had continued to serve Deboth. Mad Torin's goal is to gather dark energy from the souls of the reviving Debo Monsters as they absorb stuff to restore their physical bodies to destroy the world by making the portal to Deboth Hell wider. He can also bring back Debo Monsters by expanding the Land of Darkness' influence. Shortly after the battle against Debo Tairyon, Bragigas falls ill when Mad Torin begins infecting it with darkness. When Tessai and Ramirez investigate, Mad Torin strikes them down and later ambushes the Kyoryugers and real Torin after Great Land Devil Gadoma's death to defend Deboth Hell. 
TV STORY-Brave 35: Super Awesome! Gigant Kyoryuzin
After Chaos and Dogold and introduce Mad Torin, he fights his doppelganger who he overwhelms and utterly defeats the Kyoryugers although Bragigas withdraws the team before Mad Torin can kill Torin. Later, Chaos and the other Deboth generals release multiple Debo Monster spirits with Mad Torin absorbing their darkness to wide the portal to Deboth Hell. He then confronts the Kyoryugers after they slay Kokodoko, Royaroya and Yakigonte before revealing that he can simply resurrect them endlessly using the portal to Deboth Hell. With help from Debo Peshango, he kidnaps Rika Fukui as a sacrifice to Deboth Hell so the Kyoryugers confront him in the quarry. Mad Torin and his army of monsters hold the upper-hand until Torin unlocks his GigaGaburevolver and becomes Kyoryu Silver. With his new-found power, he overwhelms and defeats Mad Torin with the Trinity Straizer as the majority of the ressurected Debo Monsters are also slain. Chaos soon arrives and is shocked by Torin's new power so he has Luckyuro enlarge Mad Torin with Restoration Water. The Kyoryugers summon the Zyudenryu, stopping him from expanding the portal and forming Gigant Kyoryuzin which overwhelms him. Although Mad Torin proclaims that he can simply return through the portal, they will simply seal Deboth Hell for now and unveil the Gigant Caannon. With it, they kill a shocked Mad Torin with the Super Voltasaur All Gigant Explosion which seals the portal to Deboth Hell in the process. TV STORY-Brave 36: Giga Gaburincho! The Silver Miracle
When Chozetsushin Deboth begins his final attack, with the Darkness Clock starting its countdown, numerous portals to Deboth Hell open up in anticipation of Earth's destruction with Mad Torin emerging from one. However, Torin has died in the meantime (having let Dantetsu Kiryu kill him so he could enter Deboth Hell) and mortally wounds Mad Torin even as he escapes Deboth Hell. Finding Chaos immediately outside of the portal he escapes through, Mad Torin reveals that Torin has entered Deboth Hell to foil Deboth before exploding. TV STORY-Brave 46: Big Shout Out! Legacy[]
Despite his permanent death, Mad Torin's final message to Chaos led Chaos to letting Dantetsu kill him so he could defend Deboth Hell from the Spirit Kyoryugers.
Personality[]
Mad Torin was the opposite of everything Torin is as Mad Torin saw the original Torin as the "failure" who he must destroy. Despite this, he was very sentimental towards Chaos and saw him as his older brother who he was intensely loyal to.

Mad Torin was an incredibly powerful being with abilities that were far greater than the Kyoryugers. He had excessive control over Deboth Hell and was only matched in battle by Torin himself as he easily defeated any other enemies. Even Tessai and Ramirez, the unkillable and extremely powerful Spirit Kyoryugers, as well as Kyoryu Red Carnival were no match for him and were easily defeated.
- Strength: Mad Torin deflected Kyoryu Red Kung-Fu Carnival's Bunpachy Ball with a single slash of his sword.
- Durability: Mad Torin withstood multiple devastating hits from Torin's Feather Edge
- Torin Transformation: Mad Torin could transform into an identical duplicate of Torin aside from his glowing red eyes.
- Flight: Being bird-like, Mad Torin could fly at high-speed using his wings.
- Portal Summoning: Mad Torin could summon a purple vortex by snapping his right hand and flashing his eyes as seen when he showed the Kyoryugers that he defeated Tessai and Ramirez.
- Darkness Absorption: Mad Torin was able to absorb the darkness of the resurrected Debo Monsters' and grow more powerful.
- Darkness Manipulation: Mad Torin was able to use the absorbed darkness to widen the portal to Deboth Hell.

- Hand to Hand Combat:Mad Torin was an expert hand to hand fighter, outfighting even Kyoryu Red Carnival.
- Expert Swordsman: Mad Torin was an exceptionally skilled swordsman, fighting and matching Torin in combat and even having a momentary upper-hand.
- Super Speed: Mad Torin could go at blindingly fast speeds.

- Mad Edge (マッドエッジ Maddo Ejji): Mad Torin wielded a flame-themed sword which was the equivalent to Torin's Feather Edge.
- Deflection: Mad Torin easily deflected an energy blast from Torin with his Mad Edge.
- Energy Slash: Mad Torin could charge up his Madness Edge with red energy to launch an energy slash at his enemies strong enough to take down all six Kyoryugers with one hit.
- Demon Sword Madness Flame (魔剣マッドネスフレイム Maken Maddonesu Fureimu): Mad Torin's signature attack where he charged his sword up with fire and make a red X-shaped mark in front of him, which he then launched at the enemy. During its first battle, it completely defeated all six Kyoryugers and Torin with one hit.
- Energy Empowerment: Mad Torin could charge up his Madness Edge with red energy to slash his enemies with maximum force. This took down Torin with one hit whilst they were flying.
- Darkness Emission: Mad Torin could fire black smog from the tip of his sword to expand the portal to Deboth Hell.

- Mad Torin was voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa (森川 智之 Morikawa Toshiyuki) who also voiced Torin himself. Outside of Super Sentai, Toshiyuki is best known as Minato Namikaze in the eponymous anime as well as Dante in Devil May Cry: The Animated Series and the voice of Sephiroth
