This article is about a/an Zord in Power Rangers in Space, the last installment in the Zordon Era. |
The Delta Megaship is the second Megaship of the Red Space Ranger in Power Rangers in Space and serves as his personal Megazord of sorts.
Overview[]
It was remotely controlled through the Red Space Ranger's Battlizer device and therefore did not require a pilot, so it completely lacked an actual cockpit. As a result, the interior of the Megaship was mostly mechanical parts and a small control room used infrequently by the Rangers. When not in use, it was held in the Delta Docking Station, a spacedock which would split apart to release the Megaship. The Astro Megaship could also be docked atop the spacedock's ring structure.
Appearances: PRIS Episodes 11, 12, 15-17, 20, 21, 23, 29, 37
History[]
The Delta Megaship was previously owned by the Phantom Ranger, who held the disc that could activate it. The Phantom Ranger gave this disc to Andros, as the Phantom Ranger had to go after Zordon and thought Andros could make better use of it. When Ecliptor was upgraded into Red Ecliptor he demonstrated his new power by blasting the Delta Megazord, reducing it to pieces. It was damaged beyond repair.
Delta Megazord[]
In this form, it was equipped with high-powered gatling blasters on each hand (termed Gyro Blasters) which doubled as fingers, and was called upon when extra firepower was needed. It was typically controlled remotely by Andros via his Battlizer device.
Appearances: PRIS Episodes 11-13, 17, 20, 24, 29, 30, 35-37, 40
Additional Formations[]
Astro Delta Megazord[]
The Astro and Delta Megazords could combine to form the Astro Delta Megazord. In this mode, its main weapons were the Delta Megazord's Gyro Blasters, mounted on the shoulders. It could also launch its fists for devastating missile attacks as a finishing move, the Flying Power Punch, activated by Andros pressing the first button on his Battlizer. An energy cyclone finisher was used as a last-ditch emergency attack against Super Darkonda; unfortunately, it failed, only injuring Darkonda and inadvertently creating Mutantrus.
This combination was first used in "The Great Evilyzer", in which Astronema used the eponymous device to turn the Delta Megazord evil. In order to turn the Delta Megazord back to the side of good, the Rangers emitted their own beam from the Astro Megazord in hopes of overpowering the Evilyzer beam, which they succeeded in doing. Afterwards, the Delta Megazord began flying into Earth orbit, with the Rangers realizing they needed to combine. This first combination was a bit rough, possibly as an aftereffect of the Delta Megazord's shaking off the evil control.
It stopped prominently appearing after the Rangers gained the much stronger Mega Voyager and was rendered unformable altogether when the Delta Megazord was destroyed.

Etymology[]
- Delta (Δ, δ) is the fourth letter of the modern Greek alphabet and the ancestor of Latin D. Used as a symbol of change in science and mathematics, the famously triangular uppercase letter gives rise to a term describing almost any object or set of objects that resembles a triangle (e.g. a river delta).
Notes[]
- Shares its name with its Japanese counterpart only difference with "Ship" & "Zord" added to its name when in Shuttle & Megazord modes.
