Damaras was a high-ranking member of the Armada, Prince Vekar's second in command and the secondary antagonist of Power Rangers Super Megaforce.
History[]
Past[]
Before Warstar waged its war against Earth, Damaras was called to Emperor Mavro's throne room. The Emperor had him serve as Prince Vekar's second-in-command. Listening to how the Emperor called Vekar worthless and how he is nothing like his strategic brother, Damaras agreed.
Super Megaforce[]
Damaras was presumably the one who sent the Messenger to prepare Earth for the Armada's invasion given his position as second-in-command. TV STORY-The Messenger
After Vrak's supposed death, Vekar's fleet arrive to attack Earth, sending down their first monster Headridge to lead the full scale invasion. When Headridge was defeated, Damaras calls Tentacus to replace him. After the Rangers use the missiles belonging to Cybax against an Armada ship fleet, Damaras tells a furious Prince Vekar to control his temper, only to be blamed for the failure. TV STORY-Earth Fights Back
Damaras sends General Peluso to take the treasure on the Animarium before the Rangers can find it. After he sees the powerful Red Lion, Damaras orders Peluso to capture it and bend it to their will. However, Vekar shows up and demands him to not delegate orders without his permission then the Prince changes the objective of the mission to reconquering Earth and rejects any advice from his second-in-command. The plan ultimately fails. TV STORY-A Lion's Alliance
When Matacore arrives on the Armada Mothership, Damaras wonders why an Armada elite guard is there. While Vekar decides to go to Earth personally, Damaras suggests he should stay in the ship for security, but as usual, the prince rejects his counseling. Later, Damaras and Levira intervene and teleport him back to the ship alongside Argus and Matacore to regroup and wage another attack. TV STORY-Samurai Surprise
Damaras introduces Pacha Chamak to Vekar as the next Field Commander to send to Earth (even as the prince complains about the monster's name) but the Commander is destroyed anyway. TV STORY-Spirit of the Tiger
After Gorgax has his force field collar damaged, Vekar has Levira upgrade it with a bomb so he can blow up with the Power Rangers. Damaras is horrified at the idea but has to submit and Gorgax is destroyed by the new Silver Ranger anyway. TV STORY-Silver Lining
After Argus' death at the hands of Noah, Vekar has a mental breakdown over the death of his closest friend and decides to go on a suicide mission to destroy the Power Rangers. This results in Vekar's death and after the Super Mega Rangers leave, Damaras retrieves his corpse and vows to make the Rangers pay after apologizing for his failure. TV STORY-All Hail Prince Vekar
Damaras is arrested by Emperor Mavro for not protecting Prince Vekar, but is later given a chance to redeem himself, thanks to Levira. He takes on the Rangers, easily overpowers them, and captures Troy, whom he uses as a bargaining chip to force the Earth to surrender. However, this plan fails as Jake and Tensou rescue Troy in the nick of time before he could be executed. The other Rangers arrive and defeat Damaras with the Super Mega Cannon. Damaras is enlarged by Levira with the Maximizer and once again overpowers the Rangers' Megazords. Damaras tries to attack, but his attempt fails. The finishing attack finally destroys Damaras. who was completely stumped as to how they managed to finish him off. They shout back that it was their teamwork as Damaras falls flat on his back and explodes. Redker takes over his place as second-in-command of the attacking fleet, now personally led by Emperor Mavro. TV STORY-Emperor Mavro (episode)
Personality[]
Much like Admiral Malkor, Damaras had a serious, calm, and collected disposition and tended to use his intelligence rather than his strength, making him the polar opposite and counterbalance of Vekar. He easily adapted to situations and could devise or change strategies if circumstances called for them. He possessed refined manners and great decency and valued his comrades and subordinates as evidenced when he was shocked by how Vekar and Levira intended to sacrifice Gorgax in order to eliminate the Power Rangers with a suicide bomb. He also had a tendency to make the orders for his subordinates without Vekar's permission and/or knowledge. Despite being second-in-command, he believed that the invasion would be more achievable without the Prince. Despite his calm nature, he was also very arrogant, constantly boasting himself as the strongest in the universe.
Powers and Abilities[]
Powers[]
- Power: According to both Orion and himself, Damaras was the strongest warrior in the universe. When compared to his contemporaries and Emperor Mavro, his title did not hold true. He held this title merely due to his reputation in battle, his ego further boosted by his Armada colleagues.
- Sword Summoning: Damaras could summon his sword into his hand at will.
- Teleportation: Damaras could teleport himself and sometimes, others next to him, to any location at will.
- Energy Shockwaves: Damaras could charge himself up with blue energy to unleash massive energy shockwaves from his body. This was strong enough to destroy the cage that he was being kept in and send Redker and Levira flying.
- Screen Projection: Damaras was able to project a screen to explain his plan of killing Troy to the people of Earth if they refused to surrender.
Abilities[]
- Fighting Master: Damaras was an absolute master of weapon and hand to hand combats, easily overwhelming all six Rangers easily when they didn't work together.
- Super Jump: When the Rangers tried to retreat, Damaras covered the considerable distance between them with a single bound.
- Strength: Damaras was easily able defeat all six Rangers and even hold back Troy and Jake's Super Mega Saber Blast for a short period of time although it soon overwhelmed him. When fighting Jake alone, a single slash of his sword took him out of his Mystic Force Green form and knocked him straight back to his civilian form.
- Durability: Damaras took multiple hits from the Super Mega Sabers and Super Mega (Saber) Blast without a scratch and even the Ultimate Legendary Megazord's missiles had little effect since he barely fell over.
Weaknesses[]
- Strength Limit: Damaras's strength has limits, as he was easily overwhelmed and defeated by the Ultimate Legendary Megazord.
Arsenal[]
- Sword: Damaras wielded a massive sword in battle designed after his color theme.
- Energy Slash: Damaras could instantly charge up his sword with blue energy and unleash energy slashes of the same color from it to strike his enemies with enough force to knock down Orion and Troy. There are two variations of this attack:
- Energy Laser Slash: Damaras could spin in a circle and project blue energy from his sword that resembles a laser but can cleave through his enemies like a sword. He only did this as a last resort, having been surrounded by enemies, and it was powerful enough to knock down all six Rangers.
- Energy Wave Slash: Damaras could circle his blade around and fling a massive blue energy wave from it powerful enough to take down all six Rangers with one hit.
- Explosion: Damaras could cause large explosions on his opponents with a single swing of his sword.
- Hyper Slash: Damaras could charge his sword up with a cloud of blood red energy and release an extremely strong energy slash once across the screen before generating several others simultaneously through unknown means. This is by far one of his most powerful attacks as it took down and crippled four Rangers.
- Sonic Boom: Damaras' strongest attack where he could raise his sword into the sky and generate wind around it before pointing it forth, creating an extremely powerful light blue wind tunnel to blow away his enemies. This was powerful enough to blast back five Rangers although Troy stood his ground and fought back with his Super Mega Blaster which stopped the attack.
- Energy Slash: Damaras could instantly charge up his sword with blue energy and unleash energy slashes of the same color from it to strike his enemies with enough force to knock down Orion and Troy. There are two variations of this attack:
- Gatling Guns: Damaras had two Gatling guns under his cape that could fire a barrage of energy bullets at his enemies. They were strong enough to push back the Q-Rex Megazord.
