This article is about a/an army of grunts in Gosei Sentai Dairanger.

Cotpotros (コットポトロ Kottopotoro) are Gorma grunts in black tuxedo tights with lipped but otherwise blank black and white faces. They would disguise as humans and serve virtually any Gorma, including The Three Gorma Stooges, serving as players in their various games. Usually equipped with bo staffs, they are also armed with swords and machine guns.

In the finale, the Dairangers faced red-dressed Imperial Guard Cotpotros (近衛コットポトロ Konoe Kottopotoro) in the Gorma Palace.

Character History

Super Sentai World

The Cotpotros were one of five groups of revived Foot Soldiers along with the Batzler Soldiers, Grinam Soldiers, Golem Soldiers and Dorodoros, which were summoned by Zaigan in Emperor Daidas' invasion of Earth. The evil army was wiped out by a gathering of the five Super Sentai: Dairanger, Fiveman, Jetman, Zyuranger, and Kakuranger. Tvicon.pngSuper Sentai World

Several Cotpotros were part of an army of past enemy grunts that were fought by the Gokaigers in Los Dark's ghost dimension which housed the 1500 spirits of the villains defeated by the Super Sentai. After losing some of their number in an initial skirmish, the remaining members from each grunt group merged to form the Combined Combatant. Though the stronger opponent, the Combined Combatant proved to be unstable due to internal conflicting among the grunts composing him over who got to finish the pirates off. Taking advantage, the Gokaigers used the Battle Fever J Ranger Keys to destroy the Combined Combatant with the Penta Force cannon. Tvicon.pngKaizoku Sentai Gokaiger the Movie: The Flying Ghost Ship

concept art

  • The Cotpotros were replaced by U.S. exclusive versions of the Golems from Zyuranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 2
    • The reason for being unadapted into Power Rangers is unknown but many have speculated that it is because Lord Zedd (their creator) was portrayed in the early episodes as a super serious individual and the Cotpotros both have a goofy waiter design and were often played for laughs. This would lead to a severe tonal clash and so they were ommitted from any Dairanger footage that was adapted.
