The season was aired 2 years after Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger. The season was preceded by Power Rangers Dino Super Charge.
The StarNinger Shuriken only appears when StarNinger himself does. The Gold Ninja Power Star appears in episode 1.
All the rangers (except StarNinger) are cousins and grandchildren of The Last Ninja Yoshitaka Igasaki and aims to follow his footstep. Only two (red and gold) of the rangers are related to each other and one of them is a new student.

The running gimmick of the series is they are the last ninja. The villains show, Galaxy Warriors, can be considered a gimmick.
Involve members of both the Evil Army Shadow Line and the Kibaoni Army Corps. Cosmo Royale is based off of Baron Nero and is so far the only ToQger element in Ninja Steel.
The Go-Busters have no involvement whatsoever. Redbot's counterpart is from Go-Busters who was a counterpart to Cheeda Nick.
Don't meet anyone from Kyoryuger as the current team.

They do meet past Red Ninjas, AkaRed, and the ToQgers during the shows run and the Zyuohgers and Kyurangers (briefly) along with every other red ranger in the Zyuohger vs Movie.

Super Ninja Steel brings the return of SledgeWrench, Poisandra and Blue Dino Ranger Koda.
