The five core Shinkengers have at least five battle modes. Mega mode was never created.	The five core Samurai Rangers have more than six battle modes, including Mega Mode and in which is used for Zord battles, as well as the Sixth Ranger.
The henshin device of the five core Shinkengers is the ShodoPhone and the henshin device of the Sixth Ranger is the Sushi Changer. Kaoru Shiba does not have a unique henshin device from the other Shinkengers.	The Morpher of the five core Samurai Rangers is the Samuraizer and the Morpher of the Sixth Ranger is the Samurai Morpher. Lauren Shiba has a unique Morpher, like an older Morpher from the current Samuraizer, resembling the ShodoPhone of the Shinkengers.

The Shinkengers wear traditional Japanese Hakamas, which were worn by Samurai.	The Samurai Rangers appear to wear clothes that resemble the apparel of Ninjas; especially with the mask that appears when they transform.
