Clawhammer is a giant shrimp-themed monster serving Astronema in Power Rangers in Space. He serves as the supporting antagonist of the episode "Satellite Search" and as a posthumous minor antagonist of the episodes "The Great Evilyzer" and "Countdown to Destruction".

History

Clawhammer is a giant shrimp monster Astronema threatened Elgar with and then chained the Rangers up, intending for him to eat them.

As Clawhammer was about to eat the Rangers, the Astro Megazord (Piloted by Alpha 6) appeared to help the Rangers, but the battle at first was in Clawhammer's favor as it was able to beat the Astro Megazord mercilessly and tried to throw the Astro Megazord into a volcano.

During the battle, the Rangers were able to escape from their bonds and go into the Astro Megazord, piloting it. They were able to turn the tide of battle to their favor by having the Megazord use hand-to-hand combat against Clawhammer, pick him up, and throw him into the volcano, destroying the monster. Clawhammer appeared again as one of five monsters sent to help Destructipede in Astronema's plan to take control of the Delta Megazord.

After Power Driller was beaten, Clawhammer (Who was now human sized) appeared alongside Fearog to fight the Rangers. After Destructipede was turned giant, the Rangers decided to handle the five human-sized monsters first and knocked them down with their weapons (with Clawhammer being shot at by Cassie's Satellite Stunner), but the monsters got back up and continued to attack the Rangers. With the monsters being stronger than the Rangers thought, Andros summoned the Delta Megazord to fight Destructipede while the rest fought the other five monsters (with Cassie fighting Clawhammer). After the Delta Megazord fell under the control of Astronema's Evilyzer and left, Clawhammer vanished along with Destructipede and the other monsters.

After the Rangers took back the Delta Megazord, Clawhammer reappeared with the other monsters as giants to fight the new Astro Delta Megazord. The monsters were shot at by the Gyro Blasters but like before, they came back and continued to attack the Astro Delta Megazord to keep it away from Destructipede but the Megazord was able to bat them away. After Destructipede was destroyed, Clawhammer and the other monsters were destroyed as well. Tvicon TV STORY-The Great Evilyzer

Clawhammer was later part of the Machine Empire and General Havoc's forces, which attacked the homeworld of the Phantom Ranger in the United Alliance of Evil's invasion of the universe. He, along with the rest of the alliance, was destroyed by Zordon's Energy Wave. Tvicon TV STORY-Countdown to Destruction

Godzilla vs. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers II

The trio of monsters followed Tommy to the Angel Grove of Godzilla's reality and a battle ensued between the two sides, Rita made the monsters grow to stop Tommy but Tommy summoned his Tigerzord to fight the three Monsters, during the battle Godzilla appeared due to the fighting and attacked everyone in the fight. When Godzilla blasted the Tigerzord with his Atomic Ray, it triggered the fragment of the Multiversal Focus in Tommy's possession which blasted all five of them into the Angel Grove of the Power Rangers, During which Godzilla continued to fight the three Godzilla bites Clawhammer but was tied up by Tentacreep and in anger Fires at Godzilla for biting him but the blast had no effect on the King of the Monsters. Personality

Clawhammer didn't show much of a personality, for quite obvious reasons, because he lacked the ability to talk, only speaking in roars and growling. However, he was shown to be possibly sadistic, because he was willing to kill the Rangers by consuming them, and he was still completely and utterly loyal and faithful towards Astronema and loyally enforced his princess's orders. Overall, Clawhammer was more comedic rather than evil.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

  • Energy Blasts: He could project a powerful energy blasts at his enemies.
  • Fighting Skills: Clawhammer was also a capable fighter.

Abilities

  • Strength: Clawhammer was strong enough to overwhelm and badly damage the Astro Megazord.
  • Head Bash: Clawhammer can bash at opponents with his head.

Weaknesses

  • Limited Physical Strength: His strength was, while superior to the human one, but still wasn't powerful enough to best the Rangers.

Arsenal

  • Pincers: Clawhammer has large pincers for hands which are razor sharp for use in combat. He can also launch a variety of energy based attacks from them.
    • Laser Boomerang: Clawhammer could hurl blue laser-like silhouettes of its pincers, firing them like boomerangs.
    • Energy Empowerment: Clawhammer could also energize its pincers with red energy and slash them with a crippling melee attack. This was presumably its strongest attack as it was about to use this to knock the Astro Megazord into a volcano and might have succeeded had the Rangers not arrived.
