This article is about an episode in Seijuu Sentai Gingaman. |
The Secret Kitten (秘密の子猫 Himitsu no Koneko) is the ninth episode of Seijuu Sentai Gingaman.
Synopsis
A meteorite seals away Gingat's power, turning it into a small feline that a girl adopts in place of her missing cat.
Plot
A mysterious meteor crashes on Earth near Gingat and seals her power, causing the feline Starbeast to shrink and regress into a kitten. A little girl named Yuuko finds the young Gingat and the meteorite and takes them home with her while the Gingaman look for the lost Starbeast. The Barban plan on finding and using the meteorite's evil power as an energy source to start their ship, putting Yuuko in danger. Yuuko refuses to give the Starbeast back to Saya, as she is lonely without a friend to keep her company. Saya must think of a way to get Gingat back while being considerate of Yuuko's feelings.

Notes
- While age regression and shrinking are common plot tropes in television, having been used before and after this episode in the Super Sentai series, this is the first time a Sentient Sentai Mecha has been regressed to a younger state.
- In the case of shrinking, it would not be the only time this would happen to a Ranger's mecha
- During the battle with Gingai-Oh, Mandiger ends up calling the mecha "Gingai-King"; "with "Oh" as the Japanese word for "King", he literally translates the name of the mecha.
- The intro was slighty modified showcasing more of the Silver Star Beasts, Gingai-Oh, and the redesigned Gingat suit.
DVD Releases
- Seijuu Sentai Gingaman Volume 1 features episodes 1-10.[1]
- The complete Gingaman series was released in North America by Shout! Factory in 2018.
