The Zyuohgers (ジュウオウジャー Jūōjā) are the 40th Super Sentai team. They consist of four anthropomorphic animals (who can assume human guises) called Zyumans, who hail from a parallel world called Zyuland, and a human zoologist named Yamato. Together they battle the evil Deathgalian, a hostile alien race that have set their sights on invading Earth next. It is up to the Zyuohgers to use their Zyuoh Cube powers to stop the Earth invasion.

The Zyuohgers are homaged by the Getsumen Sentai Gekkouger, appearing as a poster in the 2017 anime series Tsuki ga Kirei (月がきれい as the moon, so beautiful.).

Notes

  • This is the first team whose first five Rangers were Red, Blue, Yellow, Green and White.
    • It is also the first 3 male/2 female team since the Magirangers to have a female Blue ranger and a male Yellow Ranger.
    • It is also the first team where both Green and White Rangers are part of the team from the beginning; while the J.A.K.Q. team, Dairangers, Dekarangers, and Magirangers all had both Green and White Rangers,but white was a mentor charcter (Big One, Magi White) or the 6th ranger (Kibaranger, Deka Break).
    • It is also the first team since the Jetmen where the female Rangers' colors are Blue and White.
    • This is also the first team to not feature a Pink Ranger since the Go-Busters.
    • This is also the first team since the Gaorangers to have an animal motiff in an anniversary season.
    • This is also the first team since the Ohrangers to have a Black Ranger as a Sixth Ranger and the first anniversary season since Carranger to lack a Silver Ranger.
  • Excluding Zyuoh The World, the Zyuohgers color scheme (Red/Blue/Yellow/Green/White/Orange) matches that of a Rubik's cube.
  • They are the second team to have the Red and Sixth Rangers be different from the other four core members, the first team being the Timerangers.
  • It is also the first team to have human members that were originally animals.
  • This is the first time where only two of the Rangers are human by default.
  • Minus a black bat, the team has the same members as the Spirit Rangers from Power Rangers Jungle Fury.
  • With the exception of Zyuoh Lion, each team member has a secondary power that is based on one of the five senses.
    • Zyuoh Eagle/Zyuoh Bird = Sight
      • This can be attributed to the fact that an eagle's eyesight is one of the strongest in the world.
    • Zyuoh Shark = Hearing
      • Sharks do have a form of hearing which can help hear objects from miles away, though this sense is the harder sense of the shark to test.
    • Zyuoh Lion is the odd one out as his power is a loud voice, which is not a part of the five senses nor is it a sense at all.
    • Zyuoh Elephant = Smell
      • Since elephants have a long trunk they can smell really far.
    • Zyuoh Tiger = Taste
      • This is rather ironic as tigers have a limited sense of taste amounting to a fraction of that enjoyed by omnivorous humans due to their strict carnivorous diet.
    • Zyuoh The World = Touch
      • Rhinos have sensitive skin so they can know stuff of what they are with there hands.
  • Incidentally, the Zyuohgers share the same animal motifs as that of the previous animal-themed anniversary Sentai team, the Gaorangers, with the exception of GaoBlack's bison motif and Zyuoh Elephant's elephant motif.
    • It is to be noted that Zyuoh Eagle and Zyuoh Lion's animal motifs are swapped from GaoRed (lion-themed) and GaoYellow (eagle-themed)'s motifs.
      • Like on Gaoranger, the Yellow Ranger led the team for a period until the red ranger took over
    • Also, while the two teams' respective sixth rangers share a wolf motif, GaoSilver's wolf motif is his default while Zyuoh The World's wolf motif belongs to an alternate form (his main form's motif is actually a rhinoceros).
    • Also, of the twenty-one Zyuoh Cubes known to exist (either within the series or via toys), eighteen have a Power Animal counterpart in Gaoranger: eleven to a Power Animal existing in the show itself, one to a Power Animal exclusive to the Gaoranger CD Drama and four to Power Animals that only appeared in concept art. The three without counterparts are the Platypus, Leopard and Octopus.
  • This is the first team since the Abarangers to have a power up in the first episode.
