The Zenkaigers (ゼンカイジャー Zenkaijā) are the 45th Super Sentai, or on occasion, referred to as the 46th team. (See notes) They are a team composed of one human and four Kikainoids, who use the power of the Sentai Gears to fight the evil Kikaitopia Dynasty Tojitendo. The group of five would later ally with the World Pirates, with their leader Twokaizer serving as an unofficial sixth member of the team. They would also ally with Stacaesar, a former member of the Tojitendo as well as their former enemy. The group would officially get a sixth member in the form of Hakaizer, the father of the team leader using modified Tojitendo technology.

Starting with Two Members[]
When the Tojitendo invaded Earth, Kaito hid himself and his grandma in the Candy Cafe Colorful, realizing he needed to save the world from the threat. Secchan then activated his mentor system, sending both Kaito and Yatsude in the Kikai Base, underneath the Cafe. There, he discovers that there are several worlds with Super Sentai protecting them, and that his missing parents had left an entire arsenal inspired from these Super Sentai for Kaito to form the Zenkaigers in order to counter Tojitendo's plan.
When Juran saved a child from the invaders, Kaito shot a Kudak and asked if Juran could become a Zenkaiger. After being astonished by Kaito's discernment, he accepts and both of them became Zenkaizer and Zenkai Juran. Juran also discovers that he can transform into his mecha form, Zenkai Tyranno, against a Kudaitest.

Design[]
As this season marks the celebration of the 45th Sentai season, the Zenkaigers and allies pay homage to other designs from past seasons. All of the Zenkaigers and allies have numbers on their head that corresponds to which season the Zenkaigers' transformed forms emulate. Zenkaizer is the exception, due to how he technically emulates the Gorengers in spite of his number being "45".
- Zenkaizer's design evokes the Gorengers, with partial theming and the color scheme hailing from Varidorin. This is more apparent with Zenkai Red, who is otherwise a Red version of Zenkaizer, while also strongly resembling Akarenger.
- Super Zenkaizer's design strongly evokes Guardian Beast DragonCaesar, as well as Gouryuzin.
- Juran's civilian design evokes the clothes worn by Yamato Tribe Prince Geki, while Zenkai Juran's design is derived from Shinka Gattai Daizyuzin.
- Gaon's civilian design evokes the Gaorangers' team jackets as well as Leo's hair, while Zenkai Gaon's design is derived from Hyakuju Gattai GaoKing.
- Magine's civilian design evokes the civilian outfits worn by the Ozu siblings, Houka especially, while Zenkai Magine's design is derived from Majin Gattai Magiking.
- Vroon's civilian design evokes the outfits worn by the Boukengers, especially Souta Mogami's, while Zenkai Vroon's design is derived from GoGo Gattai DaiBouken.
- Twokaizer's design emulates both the Gokaigers, with his visor being identical to Gokai Red's, as well as the silhouette of Kaizoku Gattai GokaiOh. Unlike the others, Twokaizer's number design on his helmet as well the Gokaiger logo as on his chest changes depending on his forms.
- Twokaizer's Ohren Form emulates both Riki's civilian outfit and his KingRanger suit as well as Gunmazin, with the shapes on the loincloth colored to match both the Ohrangers and the formation for Choriki Gattai Ohranger Robo due to how the shapes are arranged. His brother Ricky's SD Form resembles a Super Deformed design for Ohranger Robo. While using Ohren Form, his number changes to "19" over a star, with the Gokaiger logo on his chest replaced by a star, referencing OhRed.
- Twokaizer's Shinken Form emulates Hyper ShinkenRed's haori. His brother Cutanner's SD Form resembles a Super Deformed design for Samurai Gattai ShinkenOh. While using Shinken Form, his number changes to "33" over a stylized kanji for "fire" (火 Hi), with the Gokaiger logo on his chest replaced by the same kanji, referencing Shinken Red.
- Super Twokaizer's SD Form resembles a combination of GokaiOh's head for Super Twokaizer SD's own head with V-Rex's head for his body.
- Starcaesar's design strongly resembles Battle Japan, most especially his helmet. Stacaeser's rivalry with Zenkaizer emulates how Team Battle Fever was once considered the first ever Sentai team until Choriki Sentai Ohranger canonized Himitsu Sentai Gorenger and J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai as Super Sentai seasons, dethroning Battle Fever J as the first Sentai.
- Unlike many other designs seen in the series, Hakaizer's design emulates the design of Fire-Stealth Capture 7
from Ninja Captor
, a Super Sentai-esque show Toei aired during the second year of Gorenger.
Etymology[]
Like many past Sentai teams (Team Sun Vulcan, Changemen, original Livemen trio, Fivemen, Kakurangers, Ohrangers, eldest GoGoFive siblings, Gaorangers, Hurricanegers, core Abarangers, ToQgers, Zyuohgers, Kyurangers, Lupinrangers, Patrangers, Kiramagers), and other future Sentai teams (Donbrothers, King-Ohgers, Boonboomgers, Gozyugers), the Zenkaigers' personal names are derived after their Sentai motifs.
Personal Names[]
- Kaito's surname, Goshikida (五色田 Goshikida), is composed of the kanji for five (五) and color (色), but when spoken aloud, it sounds like "I'm the 5 colors" (五色だ Goshiki da). The kanji for his given name (田 and 介) are used as radicals to form the kanji for "world" (界 Kai), making his full name a play on words meaning "Five-Colored Worlder" (五色界人 Goshiki Kaito).
- Juran is derived from the official Romanization of the Zyurangers (ジュウレンジャー Jūrenjā), replacing the "Zy" with a "J". Within the scope of his family (Sanjo and Hakua), Juran's name is also derived from the Japanese term for the Jurassic Period (ジュラ紀 Jura-ki).
- Gaon is derived from the Gaorangers (ガオレンジャー Gaorenjā).
- Magine is derived from the Magirangers (マジレンジャー Majirenjā) and a corruption of the word "Majin," the name of the mechs in this season.
- Vroon is named after the onomatopoeia "vroom", which is a sound related to the Boukengers' vehicle theme. The Japanese pronunciation of his name is very similar to the English words "broom" (ブルーム Burūmu), which could refer to his job as a janitor, and "blue" (ブルー Burū) which could refer to his Ranger color.
- Zocks is an portmanteau of "thief" (賊 Zoku) and "six" (シックス Shikkusu), while Goldtsuiker is a portmanteau and pun on "gold" (ゴールド Gōrudo) and "additional" (追加 Tsuika).
- Ricky and Cutanner are derived from respectively the compound word for "power" (力 -riki) and the word "katana" (刀) to reference both Sentai teams the younger Goldtsuiker brothers emulate.
- Flint's name is derived from "flintlock", an ignition system for 18th century firearms, or alternatively the name of the firearm itself.
- Stacy is likely derived from the Japanese word 捨てる (suteru) which can be translated into 'to throw away', 'to cast away', 'to dump' or 'to discard,' fitting the destruction theme of the Tojitendo.
- Fitting with the theme of the older Goshikida family members, Isao is named after Isao Sasaki, the singer for most of the tracks for Gorenger and J.A.K.Q..
Ranger Titles[]
- Zenkaizer is a portmanteau of the words "full throttle" (全開 Zenkai) and the German word "Kaiser," which means "emperor."
- Twokaizer is a portmanteau of the words "exciting" (痛快 Tsūkai) and "messenger"/"user" (使い Tsukai), as well as "Kaiser".
- Twokai Flint is a portmanteau of the "Twokai" from Twokaizer and Flint's own name.
- Stacaesar's name is a portmanteau of "Stacy" and "Caesar". The "Caesar" in Stacaesar's name also serves as a counterpart to Zenkaizer's "Kaiser", as they respectively are the Latin and German words for an imperial title based on the historical figure of Julius Caesar.
- Hakaizer's name is a portmanteau of the Japanese word for "destruction" (破壊 Hakai) and "Kaiser".

Derivations[]
Notes[]
- Their roll call order, as well as the order that the members join, is based on the order of the season they are based on.
- Together, the Zenkaigers represent the most common motifs of past Super Sentai teams.
- The Sentai Robos the four Kikainoids' ranger forms are based on are those used in Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters vs. Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: The Movie for the mecha Gokai Change except for the ones used by Go-Buster Ace.
- The Zenkaigers are the first Sentai Team to have members appear in the series succeeding their main show, with Zenkai Juran appearing as a semi-regular on Avataro Sentai Donbrothers.
The Zenkaigers listed as Sentai #46 in the King-Ohger encyclopedia
- In reference to the show itself and the order it appears, Zenkaiger is considered the 45th Super Sentai season. Donbrothers also considers it the 45th. However, other material such as those created circa King-Ohger and Gozyuger refers to it as the 46th Sentai team by separating the Lupinrangers and Patrangers into individual team slots, bumping every team after LuPat one spot down.
