This article is about a group of Sentai Rangers in No.1 Sentai Gozyuger.

Universe Warriors (ユニバース戦士 Yunibāsu Senshi), also known as Ring Warriors (指輪の戦士 Yubiwa no Senshi), are a group of Sentai Rangers whose powers are derived from their original Sentai Red counterparts.

Overview[]

The Universe Warriors are people that have obtained the powers of the previous Sentai Reds through TegaSword as they have a strong wish they desire. Making a Ring Contract with TegaSword, they use these powers to be No.1 and have their wish granted by TegaSword, and for this reason they not only battle each other but also the Gozyugers, who are aiming to have their wishes granted and become No.1 as well.

If a Universe Warrior is defeated in battle, they lose their ring and their Silver TegaSword will disintegrate, nullifying their contract. TV STORY-Ep. 4: Party Time ☆ Dreaming Old Man At the same time, a Universe warrior can also voluntarily surrender their rings, voiding their contract if they wish so. TV STORY-Ep. 12: Demon, Roar!!

Apart from wielding a Silver TegaSword as their main weapon, the Universe Warriors are also able to use the arsenal of the Sentai Red they transform into. Additionally, some Universe Warriors are granted special powers related to their forms as Sentai Reds to aid in their fight, like the Gozyugers.

History[]

Due to there being 49 Universe Warriors at the start of the Battle for the Rings, it's currently unknown for how long the Battle for the Rings has been going on for prior to Hoeru becoming GozyuWolf, as Natsume Tsutsumi was already Universe Warrior Kuwagata Ohger by the start of the season, as well as the story of the Gozyugers being the main focus.

The Universe Warriors' battles with each other, Ring Hunter Garyudo and the Gozyugers have been going on off-screen, with only implications of the losers that were eliminated from the running to become Number One by their Sentai Rings in the possession of other people, and the Sakuraba vs. Tokonatsu fight being the first on-screen Universe Warrior vs Universe Warrior fight. All the Universe Warriors use past Sentai Red suits, only with a Tsumega Buckle replacing any belts the original Reds may have had as well as replacing any sword-themed Changers to a Silver TegaSword.

Etymology[]

The Universe Warriors are named due to them being created as a response to the Universe War prior to the start of the series.

Notes[]

  • Sakuraba is the first of the Universe Warriors to have lost on-screen, though far from the first to have lost, as seen with several Sentai Rings being in other people's hands, with these implying they also had lost to their respective opponents.
  • Shoko Yamori is the first on-screen Universe Warrior to be a woman. She is also the first to corrupt a Sentai Red’s powers.
  • Oto is the first Universe Warrior to be usurped of her position as Shinken Red instead of being eliminated, due to Fire Candle stealing her TegaSword and Shinkenger Ring.
