Space Pirates Balban

This article is about a villainous organization in Seijuu Sentai Gingaman.

The Space Pirates Balban (宇宙海賊バルバン, Uchū Kaizoku Baruban) are a gang of space pirates who were fought by the Gingamen.

History

Zahab founded the Balban long ago, plundering worlds before having the conquered planet destroyed and converted into a star gem using Demon Beast Daitanix's insatiable appetite for planets. Having learned to use the long expanding properties of the star gems, Zahab uses the allure of immortality to many among his crews. However, 3,000 years ago, the Balban's attempt to plunder Earth resorted with them being sealed by the first generation of Gingamen.

The seal eventually broke in 1998 but Daitanix showed no sign of life and its resurrection was the Balban's top priority while destroying the current Gingamen. Though they succeeded, losing three of their generals and their scholar betraying them, the Balban are forced to abandon Diatanix once learning that its body is still decaying. However, following Diatanix's death, Balban's goal changes to the nuturing of the Earth Demon Beast to become their new provider of star gems.

Eventually the beast was injected with Balban-Extract and matured to giant size at cost of both Biznella and Battobas's life. With his final general, Steerwoman Shelinda, defeated by the Gingaman. Zahab attaches the Rowdy Invincible Castle upon the back of the Earth Demon Beast and begin his revenge on them in rage. Despite its power and strength, the beast was defeated and the captain's star gem was destroyed by the combination of Ryouma and Hyuuga's fire power. Zahab himself was then finally defeated with the combined power of both the Black Knight and the Gingamen.

Later History

Los Dark

Several Seamen Yartots were part of an army of past enemy grunts that were fought by the Gokaigers in Los Dark's ghost dimension which housed the 1500 spirits of the villains defeated by the Super Sentai. After losing some of their number in an initial skirmish, the remaining members from each grunt group merged to form the Combined Combatant. Though the stronger opponent, the Combined Combatant proved to be unstable due to internal conflicting among the grunts composing him over who got to finish the pirates off. Taking advantage, the Gokaigers used the Battle Fever J Ranger Keys to destroy the Combined Combatant with the Penta Force cannon. TV STORY-Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger the Movie: The Flying Ghost Ship

The Space Pirates Balban serves as the evil organization in the 22nd Super Sentai Series entry Seijuu Sentai Gingaman (1998-99).

Notes

• Although the leader, Zahab's rank is a Captain while the other members are ranked as Generals, The Captain in real life is several ranks below the General, IE the army or some police forces. This is likely an oversight, or a contrast to an actual chain of command in the army.
  • The actual rank of the other ranking members could have been similar to a Lieutenant.
