|This article is about a/an set of rangers in the Super Sentai series.|
These are the Sentai 6th Rangers, the secondary/additional cast of the rangers. After 2 unofficial prototypes, the first Sixth Ranger appeared in Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger. There have been 25 official sixth Rangers, including 1 replacement. They generally appear in the 17th episode of their respective series, but there have been exceptions.
Out of the 25 official Sixth Rangers, Silver and Gold are tied as the most commonly used colors with 8 rangers apiece, 3 have been White, 2 have been Green, 2 have been Black, 1 has been Red, 1 has been Violet, and 1 has been Orange.
Personality wise, some 6th Rangers are hardcore loners that keep distance from main rangers most of the time (TimeFire, GaoSilver, AbareKiller, Gosei Knight, ToQ 6gou). Some 6th Rangers were initially loner for personal reason before becoming friends and cooperative ally with main rangers (DragonRanger, Bouken Silver, Go-On Gold, StarNinger, Zyuoh The World, Ryusoul Gold). Some 6th Rangers are comedy relief (KibaRanger, MegaSilver, Shurikenger, Shinken Gold, Gokai Silver, Beet Buster, Stag Buster). Some 6th Rangers are wise voices of reason (KingRanger, DekaBreak, MagiShine, Go-On Silver, Kyoryu Gold, RyuCommander, Lupin X/Patren X). It should also be noted that being a 6th Ranger is not necessarily a numeric designation (IE: AbareKiller was actually the 5th member of his respective team, Beet & Stag Buster were the 4th and 5th members respectively, and Ryu Commander is the 10th member of his respective team) but rather that they serve as a "supplementary" teammate. In series where a 6th Ranger is absent, an Extra Hero (Carrangers's Signalman, Gingaman's Black Knight) will frequently serve in their place. Unlike the main rangers, they are dressed uniquely.

- Atsushi Domyoji is Green Hippopotamus, the Sixth Ranger of Dōbutsu Sentai Go-Busters, an alternate-reality version of Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters. In this case, it's not his status as the sixth ranger that's unofficial, but rather his team.
- Fans have speculated over whether Shou Ronpo or Tsurugi Ohtori represented Kyuranger's Sixth Ranger, even after the series' end. The debate was put to rest after producer and early advisor Shinichiro Shirakura tweeted to a fan replying that the former is indeed the Sixth Ranger. In addition, Shou was among the Sixth Rangers alongside their respective Red Rangers in a promotional for a hero meet and greet in Kashiikaen, with imagery from Toei and TV Asahi accompanying the promotion.
- On a related note, after a fan questions him over why Houou Soldier is not considered the Sixth Ranger, Shirakura goes on to say that traditionally, the ranger that brings the "second robot" is deemed the Sixth Ranger, though even among staff there are various opinions on the matter, as well as very obvious exceptions to that tradition (i.e DekaBreak).
