The lead Blue Rangers up to Gokaiger.

The Blue Sentai Ranger (青い戦隊レンジャー Aoi Sentai Renjā) or Blue Warrior (青い戦士 Aoi Senshi) is a designation given to one character in almost every incarnation of Super Sentai (bar the Patrangers). Blue Rangers are almost always male, though five of them have been female. Four of the five female Blue Rangers wear a lighter shade of blue (sky blue) than their male counterparts, the exception being Blue Dolphin of the Liveman. Kakuranger's NinjaBlue also wore a lighter shade of blue (sky blue) similar to that of the female Blue Rangers. Normally, Blue Rangers are also sometimes second-in-command. In terms of personality, Blue Warriors tend to either be a rival to the Red Warrior or be a spastic child, although some are known to be powerhouses. While the first two Blues were the eldest and most serious of the team, this did not become an actual trend until more recent series, where the Blues usually became the oldest or most serious of the main team Rangers.

Blue is one of only two Sentai color designations that has subsets of color shades in its category, and the only one with three shades in its subset with Navy, Cyan, and Sky Blue being official titles given to Blue Sentai Rangers with a different shade of blue than the one in the main team. Note that while certain characters have lighter or darker shades of blue when compared to one another, they were not officially considered these colors. The only classified Navy Rangers so far have been Isshuu Kasumi and Dai-kun as well as the evil Ferocious Knight D, while the only Cyan Rangers are Ramirez and his successors Yuko Fukui and Ami-neesan. Uchu Sentai Kyuranger introduced the series' first Sky Blue Sentai Ranger.
