Sentai Black

This article is about a set of rangers in the Super Sentai series.

The Black Sentai Ranger (黒い戦隊レンジャー, Kuroi Sentai Renjā) or Black Warrior (黒い戦士, Kuroi Senshi) is a position given to a position in some Super Sentai Series. Black usually serves as second-in-command and is always male. It is usually interchangeable with Green, but is also often paired with Green as the additional members to a core team of three, in this case, there have been two Black Rangers who took the place of the Pink Ranger while two took the place of the Yellow Ranger. Though Black Rangers are normally in the core team and from the start, 8 are additional Rangers. 5 of those 8 are not in the core team, with two of those 5 being the Black Sixth Ranger of the team, and the other three of them are Extra Heroes, with one of them being the Sixth Hero of that season as well. Personality-wise, most Black Warriors tend to be rivals, although some have been powerhouses and a few as childish. There is one full team of Black Rangers, the Neo-Jetman. All members of this team shared the basic personality of a Black Ranger, acting as rivals and powerhouses.

  • NeziVulgar is NeziBlack of the Jaden Sentai Neziranger in Denji Sentai Megaranger. He is the evil counterpart of MegaBlack. His alternate form is a rock monster with rock-like tentacles. During his first appearance, he disguised himself as MegaBlack.
• Hyuuga (Teruaki Ogawa) is the second Black Knight in Seijuu Sentai Gingaman. His status, as well as a predecessor, is that of a Bangai Hero.
  • Hyuuga succeeded the original Black Knight, BullBlack (Koji Ochiai), after his death.
• Soutarou Ushigome (Kazuyoshi Sakai) is GaoBlack in Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger.

• Doggie Kruger (voiced by Tetsu Inada) is DekaMaster in Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger.
• Masumi Inou (Yasuka Saitoh) is Bouken Black in GoGo Sentai Boukenger.
  • A copy of Bouken Black was created by Ouga as part of the Evil Boukengers.
• Rio (Hirofumi Araki) is Black Lion Rio in Juken Sentai Gekiranger. His status is actually classified as a Bangai Hero.
• Gunpei Ishihara (Kenji Ebisawa) is Go-On Black in Engine Sentai Go-Onger.
  • A Fake Go-On Black appears in the video game Super Sentai Battle: Ranger Cross.
• Agri (Kyousuke Hamao) is Gosei Black in Tensou Sentai Goseiger.
• Though not Black Rangers themselves, Joe Gibken (Gokai Blue), Luka Millfy (Gokai Yellow), Don Dogoier (Gokai Green), Ahim de Famille (Gokai Pink) and Gai Ikari (Gokai Silver) have all changed into past Black Rangers via the Ranger Keys in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger.
• An alternate version of Takeshi Kuroki (Hideo Sakaki) is Black Puma of the Dobutsu Sentai Go-Busters in Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters Returns vs. Dōbutsu Sentai Go-Busters.
• Ian Yorkland (Syuusuke Saito) is Kyoryu Black in Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger.
  • A Zorima was disguised as Kyoryu Black by Debo Yakigonte as part of a plot to break the Kyoryugers up. TV STORY-Brave 7: Angry! Daigo's in Big Trouble
  • Having initally taken the mantle of Kyoryu Silver, Ian's descendant Icchan (Syuusuke Saito) later transformed into Kyoryu Black in Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger: 100 YEARS AFTER.
  • Hyeonjun Jeon (Hong Sungho; dubbed by Yamato Kinjo) is Ian's successor, Brave Kyoryu Black (Brave Black Dino), in the Korean-commissioned sequel Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger Brave (Power Rangers Dino Force Brave)).
• Misao Mondo (Naoki Kunishima) is Zyuoh The World of Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger, has three Ranger powers in one - one of which is black, his default form, for his rhino powers, known as his Rhinos Form.
• Champ (Akio Ootsuka) is Oushi Black in Uchu Sentai Kyuranger.
  • Microtsuyoindaver briefly becomes a giant black version of Hebitsukai Metal.
• Banba (Tatsuya Kishida) is RyuusouBlack in Kishiryu Sentai Ryuusouger.^[1]
