Super Sentai Strongest Battle

Towa had received an invitation for the Super Sentai Strongest Battle, a tournament whose winners were supposedly promised their wish. Entering a Ryusoul Temple, Towa asked his older brother Bamba if he had any wishes, to which Bamba replied that he could not think of anything. Coming across a wall with the Ryusoul insignia, Bamba realized that they had arrived at their destination and so used a TsuyoSoul to break down the wall. Proceeding through the temple, the brothers found a pile of RyuSouls including a NobiSoul and FueSoul, which they already possessed, as well as a HayaSoul which was claimed by Towa. Also present was an amber RyuSoul which did not react when Bamba attempted to use it via the Ryusoul Ken, with Towa suggesting it was a blank. The brothers then set to find what they had come for, the Kishiryu. Meanwhile, Master Red arrived in the Ryusoul Temple.

Though arriving after the tournament was won by the Oddball Team, the Ryusoulger brothers arrived in time to save them from Rita in the Gaisoulg armor. Engaging Rita, the duo proved more than a match for her, leading her to take Kagura Izumi as a hostage. However, the Ryusoulgers quickly outmaneuvered her, with Ryusoul Black using the NobiSoul to retrieve Kagura, allowing Ryusoul Green to defeat Rita using the HayaSoul. Leaving Rita to the Oddball Team, the brothers took their leave with Towa saying goodbye. Back at the Ryusoul Temple, Master Red found the amber RyuSoul, which transformed into the Red RyuSoul. Notes

  • Ryusoulgers have few distinct, similarities or noticeable patterns to the previous Dinosaur-theme Sentai Rangers of Heisei era.
    • Each Red Rangers is based on a Tyrannosaurus and each has Rangers that are based on a Triceratops.
      • Also, each Red Ranger has his own exclusive power-up form (Armed TyrannoRanger, AbareMax, Kyoryu Red Carnival and Max Ryusoul Red).
    • Each has at least four male Rangers and one female Ranger.
      • Like Zyuranger and Kyoryuger, this team also has a female Pink Ranger within the starting team.
    • Each is not full Dinosaur-theme rangers and has at least one member based on reptiles.
    • The belt design is similar to the one used by AbareKiller, while the Ryusoul Changer is similar to Dino Brace, albeit a different direction on the changers’ animal faceplates.
    • Each season has had rangers dying.
      • Most of them were evil at some point and later redeem themselves (DragonRanger, AbareKiller, Kyoryu Silver and Gaisoulg) or stayed evil through the end (Deathryuger).
        • Deathryuger was purified and later became Kyoryu Navy, where Gaisoulg has had many predecessors-including Master Green and Rita.
      • Master Red, Master Blue, Master Pink are the first Dinosaur-theme rangers without any positive relationship with the villain to die.
    • Each has sentient mechs, but only the Kyoryugers' Zyudenryu and most of the Ryusoulgers' Kishiryu are not capable of verbal speech.
    • Each series has the team go up against a Knight-themed armor-based character, Dora KnightArmor of DarknessRaging Knight Dogold and the Gaisoulg armor.
      • Also each series has a ranger connected to a Knight-themed character:
        • The Black Knight was Geki and Burai's father.
        • Goushi/MammothRanger, Dan/TriceraRanger, Boi/TigerRanger and Burai/DragonRanger are knights of their respective tribes.
        • Asuka and Utsusemimaru wore and were possessed by the Armor of Darkness and Dogold respectively, until they were later freed after fighting their teammates (Mikoto's wearing of the Armor of Darkness does not count as he only wore it briefly before it dissolved).
        • All the Ryusoulgers and their masters are knights.
    • The team members share the same colors as the main Kyoryuger team, especially lacking any Yellow Rangers to speak of and having a Gold Ranger within the team. Thus making Ryusoulger the spiritual successor of Kyoryuger.
      • Both team also introduced new color official ranger.
    • This is the first Dinosaur-theme Sentai team with a Pink Ankylosaurus Ranger, Green Smilodon Ranger and lack Pteranodon Ranger.
  • The Ryusoulgers are the first Sentai since Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger where the arms of the Core Rangers suits are Asymmetrical color-wise (the arms of the core Dekarangers costumes had their right arm in their designated color and their left arm was black, the Ryusoulgers costumes have their right arm in their designated colors and their left arm is silver).
    • Also the Sixth Rangers of both teams have their Left Arm in Navy Blue and their right arm in their color (Tekkan Aira/Deka Break had a White Right Arm and a Navy Blue Left Arm and Canalo have a Gold Right Arm and a Navy Blue Left Arm.)
  • Due to the Patrangers' official classification as the 43rd Super Sentai Team, the Ryusoulgers are officially classified as the 44th Super Sentai Team.[1]
  • The Ryusoulgers inherit the following elements from Seijuu Sentai Gingaman.
    • Both are Super Sentai teams following the generational tradition of the masters passing down their mantles (via swords) to their successors.
    • Both teams use one-handed swords as primary sidearms and titles of warrior succession to their respective tribes.
    • Both train and live in their habitats, while secluded from the outside world.
    • Both have their Knight-themed Extra Sentai Hero.
  • Ryusoul Gold is the only Ryusoulger with a ranged weapon.
  • This is the first Sentai team to have both Extra Hero and Extra Ranger.
  • The main six Ryusoulgers are the first Sentai Rangers with different colored gloves.
