This article is about a set of movies with recurring plot points in the Super Sentai series. |
Ever since Samurai Sentai Shinkenger vs. Go-Onger: GinmakuBang!!, the Sentai team of an upcoming new series has made their first appearance in the team-up movie of their two predecessors (or in the Go-Busters' case, a crossover between their predecessor and a hero from a different tokusatsu franchise).
Tensou Sentai Goseiger
The Goseigers appear to fight Akumaro, Juzo, and Dayu before the enemies retreat.
Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger
The Gokaigers appear to finish off Shitari and his Gedoushu army. Afterwards, they ask DaiGoyou not to mention themselves to the other Sentai teams, which he agrees to.
- First early-bird cameo where the new Sentai team fights the foot soldiers of one of their predecessor's villain groups. In this case, the Gedoushu's Nanashi Company and Nosakamata.
- First early-bird cameo where the new Sentai team not only defeats their opponent, but also finishes them off.
- Only early-bird cameo to have an in-universe explanation (Ep. 40: The Future is the Past).
Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters
The Go-Busters arrive to stop Basco and Sally from entering the Gokai Galleon before the enemies retreat.
- Unlike other Sentai cameos, the Go-Busters first debut in the current Sentai's crossover with a Metal Hero instead of a team-up with their own predecessor, as the Gokaiger and Goseiger team-up aired in summer as the 35th anniversary movie, while the Gokaigers' first Vs. movie is a crossover with Space Sheriff Gavan.
- First early-bird cameo to take place in the middle of the movie rather than towards the end.
- First early-bird cameo by an initial team of three rather than five.
- First early-bird cameo to feature another character from the new sentai series (Cheeda Nick), though he only appears in bike form and has no lines.
- First early-bird cameo to not take place in a quarry.
- First early-bird cameo to not be witnessed by an ally of any of the starring teams.
Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger
The Kyoryugers appear to fight and finish off Waredonaiyer and his Gormin/Sugormin army.
- Unlike other Sentai debuts, Daigo appears only by himself first, while the others appear later.
- First early-bird cameo where a member of the guest team (Daigo, during his solo appearance) meets members of the starring team-up (Daigo's predecessors Captain Marvelous and Hiromu Sakurada).
- Second early-bird cameo to feature another character from the new sentai series and first to feature a mecha (Zyudenryu Gabutyra).
- First early-bird cameo where the main battle takes place in a warehouse rather than outside.
Ressha Sentai ToQger
After Neo-Geildon turns into Neo-Messiah, the ToQgers arrive to fight and defeat him.
- First early-bird cameo to take place as a post-credits scene.
- First early-bird cameo with an "implied" transformation.
- Second early-bird cameo to feature a mecha from the new sentai series and first to feature all of the team member's individual mechs (Red Ressha, Blue Ressha, Yellow Ressha, Green Ressha, and Pink Ressha).
- First early-bird cameo where the new Sentai team does not mention the previous two Sentai teams, as their battle against Space War God Burodosu had already ended by this point.
Shuriken Sentai Ninninger
The Ninningers appear to stop Clock Shadow from chasing the ToQgers along with Kyoryu Gold. However, their opponent retreats as one of the Kuliners is summoned to fight the new team. AkaNinger manages to shrink the mecha down to human size for him and the other Ninningers to finish off before disappearing in a puff of smoke.
- First early-bird cameo where the new Sentai team fights the villain's mecha, though in human size.
- First early-bird cameo where the new Sentai team mentions their series' villain group. In this case, the Youkai.
- Second early-bird cameo where the new Sentai team does not mention the previous two Sentai teams, even though their battle was still going on at the moment.
- Second early-bird cameo with an "implied" transformation.
- First early-bird cameo where the new Sentai team uses a movie-exclusive trinket from their collectible devices. In this case, the Shuku Shaku Shuku Sho Nin Shuriken.
Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger
The Zyuohgers appear to defeat Yokai Wanyūdō after it is sent back to the human world to rampage after previously bringing the Ninninger to Dark Ninja Land.
- Second early-bird cameo where the new Sentai team mentions their series' villain group. In this case, the Deathgalien player.
- Second early-bird cameo to not take place in a quarry.
Uchu Sentai Kyuranger
The nine Kyurangers appear to fight the Deathgalien who were going to join the battle with Gillmarda and save Bud's time from battling the Deathgalien.
- First early-bird cameo by an initial team exceeding five.
- First early-bird cameo since the Gokaiger's early-bird cameo in Goseiger vs. Shinkenger to be witnessed by an ally of one of the starring teams of the film. In this case Bud.
Notes
- Gai Ikari also made a movie cameo appearance before his official debut, appearing briefly before the end credits of Gokaiger Goseiger Super Sentai 199 Hero Great Battle, which was set immediately before his first episode.
- Interestingly, the enemies fought in the first two early-bird cameos were Gedoushu (Shinkenger) while the next two were villains from Gokaiger (Basco ta Jolokia/Zangyack); likewise, the next three were both associated with villains from that very movie (Waredonaiyer/Neo-Geildon/Clock Shadow). The Gokaigers did not fight any Goseiger villains in Goseiger vs. Shinkenger, nor did the Ninningers fight the Deboth Army in ToQger vs. Kyoryuger.
- Gokaiger's case is a bit strange: although they didn't fight against Goseiger's villains in the movie itself, in the chapter that ties-in with that movie, they fought with members of Goseiger's third antagonist team, Matrintis (specifically, Metal Alice of the Agent and Zan-KT0 of the Shot).
- Even before Goseiger's pre-series cameo, there were many cases in which the next series is heralded by the current team:
- Gaorangers were heralded by the Timerangers in Super Sentai Big Gathering.
- Gekirangers were heralded by the Boukengers in the final segment of The 30 Sentai Encyclopedia.
- Shinken Red of the Shinkengers was heraled by GekiRed and Go-on Red in the post-credits scene of Engine Sentai Go-Onger vs. Gekiranger.
