This article is about a list of occurrences in the Super Sentai and Power Rangers franchises. |
This page contains a list of characters, locations, objects, stories, concepts and alternate versions of characters that aren't part of the canon established in Super Sentai or the Power Rangers continuities, or the more prominent original movie, and reboot movie continuities, which are Alternate Canon or other Expanded Universe Material. It also lists promotional material released at the time or prior to a season but contradict its original material.
This category does not list fanwork but only those officially released by Saban, Toei or any partners that promote or reflect Super Sentai or Power Rangers in an official capacity but does not form part of the actual storylines. It may also include prominent works that are not officially Saban, Toei or other partners but otherwise cause the general public to associate it with Super Sentai or Power Rangers.
Super Sentai Material[]
- Every Super Sentai derived product that can have scenario (video games, manga) and not confirmed to be canon. Thus some characters or events also are not canon.
- Everything from Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger and Hikonin Sentai Akibaranger Season 2. In these series, Super Sentai are as fictional as in real life.
- Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger: Super Animal War: a non-canon crossover video miniseries between all the Super Sentai after the Gokaigers at this time being the September 14, 2016 (the Go-Busters, represented by BeetBuster, StagBuster, and GoldBeetle (BeetBuster from alternate reality), the Kyoryugers, represented by Kyoryu Blue, the ToQgers, represented by ToQ#6, the Ninningers, represented by ShiroNinger and all the Zyuohgers except ZyuohWhale even if he appeared 3 days earlier in real life, ZyuohBird because he didn't appear yet, and ZyuohCondor since ZyuohBird is part of the fusion), and AkaRedXL (being his first and only appearance in this version) he events of this miniseries are non-canon, because:
- The Zyuohgers first learned about other Super Sentai's existence in Ep. 29: The Monarch of the Monarchs, while in this series, nobody, except Yamato Kazakiri / ZyuohEagle (since he's from Earth and the others from Zyuland), have ever heard of other Super Sentai.
- In this episode also, ZyuohWhale appears, but appears to be inexistant in Super Animal War.
- In addition, references are made to the other series and even Zyuohger itself being a TV series.
- This aspect is quite similar to Carranger being a Super Sentai parody season, and to Akibaranger based on the same concept.
- In Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger vs. Ninninger: Message from the Future from Super Sentai, ShiroNinger (who appeared in this special) does not recognize the Zyuohgers and like the rest of the Ninningers, she believes Gillmarda's lies about them.
- The final episode of this miniseries contains a reference to the season's V-Cinema (Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger Returns: Life Received! The Earth's Monarchs' Decisive Battle!), which takes place after the end of the TV series.
- The Alternate Reality of the Doubutsu Sentai Go-Busters should have been erased since late 2012, but GoldBeetle, who is part of this reality, appears in the movie.
Power Rangers Material[]
Apocryphal Material[]
- Zeo Serial was a series of shorts produced to promote Power Rangers Zeo. The events depicted, however, were ultimately contradicted by the premiere A Zeo Beginning.
- The HyperForce Villain Special is a special episode of Power Rangers HyperForce where crew members portrayed various villains from the franchise, in a very chaotic one-shot RP
Scrapped Material[]
- Power Rangers Hexagon was Amit Bhaumik's original plan for the adaptation of Ninpu Sentai Hurricaneger, which would become Power Rangers Ninja Storm.
- Power Rangers Cyber Corps was Amit Bhaumik's original plan for the adaptation of Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, which would eventually become Power Rangers Beast Morphers.
