Masterminds

Villains in Super Sentai and Power Rangers who are particularly smart, cunning, and clever, and use their heads to come up with their plans. Usually, they are harder to stop, because they already have one plan after another if they are detracted from their purpose. A mastermind is someone who uses their brains and experience to plan their activities ahead, and is willing to do whatever it takes to see their goals straight.

Usually, they are the main antagonist or the villain behind the main villain, in which they usually would betray their allies when the opportunity arises. As well as that, they are willing to do whatever it takes to set their goals straight, even if it doesn't require planning. If their plans ever go awry, they simply adapt and try again so their weaknesses in their plots don't get exploited again. Their weaknesses usually could include a betrayal from their pawns, or their own arrogance, narcissism, and ego, or even the fact that he/she is restricted by the main villain's morals. Usually, their overall goals include absolute power, greed, domination, hegemony (world or universal domination), or simply to prove something important.
