The Juto (
Overview[]
According to Sonoi, the Juto are artificial lifeforms that were created by the royal Don Clan as part of an attempt to seek out a more stable resource of sustenance in order for Ideon's natives to survive instead of being reliant on humanity's brainwaves due to the aforementioned clan's philosophy of peacefully coexisting with humans instead of killing them. Unfortunately, the experiment itself had gone awry and as a result, the Juto had become a threat to both the human world and Ideon before the members of the royal Don Clan themselves had managed to seal them away. TV STORY-Don 27: Duel for Real Terasaki, one of the Penguin Juto, had explained to both Jiro Momotani and Tsubasa Inuzuka that the Juto had been created out of the Don Clan's feelings of despair which were formed by the callous and heartless actions of the Noto with the members of the clan in question feeling sickened by how the Noto took the lives of humans for granted as well as the Noto viewing humans as nothing more than a disposable resource. As a result, the Juto are meant to be created for the purpose of serving as the humans' replacement in being the Noto's source of sustenance albeit the experiment had ended up failing with the members of the Don Clan themselves being subsequently forced to imprison all of the Juto in the Forest of Slumber. Since then, the members of the Don Clan had gave themselves the duty of making sure that the Forest of Slumber is protected in order to keep the Juto in as well as keep the humans out. TV STORY-Don 46: A Natsumi Night's Dream However, at some point in time, most likely as a result of the Don Clan being destroyed by the Noto, the Juto had managed to escape their prison in order to secretly live among the humans themselves.
According to Jin Momoi, the Juto could not have appeared if he was present in the Noto-Human Border which is the seal that's keeping them away with the aforementioned man theorizing that the Juto had somehow found an as of yet unknown new way to get to the human world. TV STORY-Don 35: Origami Song The Juto also fold origami in the form of a cat, a crane and a penguin, which they use to infect their victims by inserting them into their mouths in order to breed their armies. The only way to cure their victims is to remove the origami from their mouths.
They have also been exhibited to be capable at running at fast speeds that are almost inhuman as seen when Tsubasa Inuzuka entered through a door in the Noto Layer and arrived at a different location in the city, with Kenji Sayama arriving to his location shortly after. TV STORY-Don 11: The Dog Gets Sunstroke
The Juto cannot be killed by normal methods, as they are only briefly stunned and seemingly not harmed when hit by attacks from the Noto and the Donbrothers. TV STORY-Don 27: Duel for Real Despite this, Juto of a higher category are able to harm each other, as seen when Miho in her Juto personality protected Tsubasa from the cat Juto hitting the latter with a chop from her left hand, forcing the latter to retreat. TV STORY-Don 23: Dog Becomes a Dog Not only that, as discovered by the Noto, the artificial lifeform known as Don Murasame actually has the power to physically harm the Juto as well as having the power to truly destroy the Juto themselves. Furthermore, his sword whether it is being wielded by Murasame or by another individual, can also harm the Juto. TV STORY-Don 29: Mourning and Murasame However, Miho reveals that not only can they copy the appearances of humans but once a Juto disguises itself as the human of its choosing, its life will become connected to the real human that it had disguised itself as. Thus, if they are destroyed, not only will the Juto be killed but the real human whom it had disguised itself as will also be killed as well. TV STORY-Don 30: Juto Hunter Additionally, as revealed by Terasaki, since the captured and unconscious hosts still age normally, the Juto who had disguised themselves as them will also die once said hosts had passed away as a result of old age. TV STORY-Don 45: Laughing Village, Rugged Village Fortunately, Miho also reveals that should the human whom a Juto has impersonated as ever leaves the Jutos' home dimension and returns to the human world, the corresponding Juto will lose its invulnerability and could be easily killed without the aforementioned real human dying themselves. TV STORY-Don 36: Dog Dog Battle When the real human manages to remove the consumed origami from his or her body, it will disconnect the Life Link between him or her and the corresponding Juto as well as said Juto being forced to revert back to it's original form and personality. TV STORY-Don 46: A Natsumi Night's Dream
The Juto would tend to transport any and all Anoni that they come across to an alternate dimension called the Forest of Slumber, which serves as their home where the aforementioned creatures would get devoured by the Juto in their true forms due to the creatures in question serving as the natural prey for the Juto themselves. Eventually, feeling a sense of responsibility for the Juto's actions due to his relation to them as one of the few surviving members of the Don Clan who had created them in the first place, Taro Momoi had engineered a plan where he would allow himself to be captured in the Forest of Slumber and had himself impersonated by a Penguin Juto so that he could gain control of that Juto in order to acquire some knowledge regarding the location of the Forest of Slumber's main portal so that he could free all of the real humans that had been imprisoned in the forest itself as well as being impersonated by any and all of the Juto themselves who are still alive and well.
While Taro himself states that the Juto's act of just existing is not a crime, he also states that the Juto had committed a crime in the form of kidnapping humans and impersonating them. Therefore, in exchange for sparing their lives and leaving them in peace, Taro had demanded that all of the Juto must stay in the Forest of Slumber and never ever leave the pocket dimension itself for eternity. Thus, the Juto had no choice but to comply with Taro's demands due to their fear of being potentially defeated and killed by his power should they refuse his demands to them.
