Go Go Power Rangers is a comic book series based on the TV series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers published by BOOM! Studios. Taking place before the 2016 comic book series, this series first full arc centers on the Rangers' personal lives, after they became Rangers and before the arrival of the Green Ranger Tommy Oliver. The next arc focuses on their time with Tommy, the aftermath of the Shattered Grid comic event and how it altered the timeline from the main continuity.
The final arc showed Tommy becoming the White Ranger (depicting the comic's version of the events of White Light), the events that led Jason, Zack and Trini to become the Omega Rangers and leave the team and how Rocky, Adam and Aisha became the new Red, Black and Yellow Mighty Morphin Rangers.
On January 22, 2020, Boom! Studios originally announced to Comic Book Resources that the series would end at Issue 32 on April 22, 2020, concluding with the ending of its part of the Necessary Evil story arc,[1] however, the final issue had been delayed till June 10, 2020.
Following the conclusion of both Go Go Power Rangers and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the comic book series split into two separate ongoing titles, Mighty Morphin and Power Rangers before going into the solo main book. Following Darkest Hour, a new era began with Power Rangers Prime.
Synopsis[]
Discover the earliest days of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers – Jason, Kimberly, Zack, Trini, and Billy – right after they became Teenagers With Attitude. Juggling high school, extracurriculars, and budding romance, your favorite teen heroes might have it all under control... if it wasn’t for the dastardly Rita Repulsa, her minions, and their plan to defeat the Power Rangers once and for all. And if that wasn’t hard enough, the original Rangers also have to deal with keeping their new lives secret from a sixth member of their pre-Morphin Grid circle. Their friend Matthew Cook wasn’t chosen by Zordon, but will our team be able to keep their new identities from him even when their distant, dark future collides with their new beginning?[2]
With the Green Power Coin finally in her possession, Rita Repulsa must go into the darkest corners of her past to unlock its power. Meanwhile, the Power Rangers work to discover what exactly Rita will do next, but face an unlikely foe who has his origins in Zordon’s past, and a fan favorite minion-turned-hero whose unforgettable redemption arc shaped a generation! After a reality-bending sequence of events, The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers have survived their war with Lord Drakkon—and reality has reset…but has the danger passed? Why don’t the Rangers recall the incredible events of the landmark Shattered Grid? The answer sets Jason on a path that will lead to the formation of the mysterious Omega Rangers… and change everything![3]
