Although the leaders of the Machine Empire were destroyed, Five Generals had survived: the General Venjix, the General Gerrok, the General Tezzla, the General Automon, and the General Steelon. Traveling through space along with the remaining Cogs, they hid from those who would stop them in their plans until arriving on the Earth's Moon, where they found and excavated Lord Zedd's old Zord, Serpentera. Planning on striking back at the Earth in King Mondo's name, they and the remainder of the Machine Empire were destroyed in a raid mission of 10 Red Rangers led by Tommy Oliver and Jason Lee Scott.

Notes
- The costumes and props used for the Generals are all recycled from Saban's Big Bad Beetleborgs and Beetleborgs Metallix. Two were kit-bashed together to create Automon.
- The color coordination of the five mirror that of the Power Rangers themselves.
