This article is about a set of rangers in Avataro Sentai Donbrothers.

The Avataro Sentai Donbrothers (暴太郎戦隊ドンブラザーズ, Abatarō Sentai Donburazāzu) are the 46th Super Sentai, or on occasion, referred to as the 47th team. (See notes)

Donbrothers (ドンブラザーズ, Donburazāzu) refers to the main six members of the team. However, it is also used as a catch-all term for when the team includes The Noto Trio and Don Murasame.

Overview[]

The Donbrothers are a team of five that include a leader from origins unknown to four otherwise regular people. However, since joining the team, most of the Donbrothers have suffered severe misfortunes in their civilian lives:

• Taro's kindness and constant correcting of how people do their daily tasks led to his neighbors to attempt to drive him out of town. When that failed, they left instead, leaving Taro alone and sad. He also can't tell a lie, lest he would die.
• Shinichi's house began receiving localized earthquakes. However, unlike the others, he has no issues with it.
• Haruka's manga series, First Love Hero, was prematurely canceled after she was accused of plagiarism, leading to her public reputation being ruined by both friends and fans alike.
• Tsubasa was wrongfully labeled a wanted fugitive for the disappearance of Natsumi Kuramochi, leading to him being on the run from the authorities. This is later quelled after he realizes that Natsumi was copied by a Crane Juto named Miho Kijino.
• Tsuyoshi seemingly suffers from the least misfortune compared to the other Rangers. However, he can still fall victim to potential misfortune, as his wife Miho Kijino was briefly hospitalized after Tsuyoshi was promoted at his workplace. Until he realizes that "Miho" is Natsumi Kuramochi by Tsubasa, this misfortune was quelled and it manifests a second one that blinded his life with extreme obsession of his wife (thinking that she always exists), an inescapable act after he refuses to accept Tsubasa's truth and breaking his friendship.
• Jiro has a split personality wanting to kill and replace Taro as the main leader. Unlike previous misfortunes, this continues to this day, as said personality can possess Jiro's body on a whim.

History[]

According to Kaito, before the current Donbrothers were assembled, there were five thousand people who gained the power to become Donbrothers (Oni Sister, Saru Brother, Kiji Brother, and Inu Brother specifically) but also lost it for misuse.

According to Sonoi, the Donbrothers' powers were created by the royal Don Clan. Said powers are suppose to activate once the aforementioned clan's sole survivor, Taro Momoi, had fully awakened so that the Donbrothers could assist him in his battles.

The Donbrothers Gear^[8] (ドンブラザーズギア, Donburazāzu Gia) is one of many Sentai Gears used by the Zenkaigers to battle the Kikaitopia Dynasty Tojitendo. In particular, when used by a Zenkaiger’s Geartlinger, the Donbrothers Gear summons Don Momotaro and his Superbike Enya Rideon.

• Each of the five Donbrothers' civilian names follow a certain naming scheme, where their last names contain a kanji referring to their individual Ranger motif:
  • Taro Momoi contains the kanji for "peach" (桃, Momo). In addition, his full name is the name of Momotaro with an additional "井" (I) dividing up the two halves of the name, "Momo" and "Taro".
  • Shinichi Saruhara contains the kanji for "monkey" (猿, Saru).
  • Haruka Kito contains the kanji for "oni" (鬼, Oni), though it takes the on'yomi pronunciation of "ki" instead.
  • Tsubasa Inuzuka contains the kanji for "dog" (犬, Inu).
  • Tsuyoshi Kijino contains the kanji for "pheasant" (雉, Kiji).
• The Donbrothers have little knowledge about each other's civilian identities at the start of the series, unlike most Super Sentai teams.
• In episode 21, it has been stated by Kaito that prior to the current team, there were approximately 5000 people who became members of the Donbrothers and quit or had the power taken due to misuse.^[9]

• In reference to the show itself and the order it appears, Donbrothers is considered 46th Super Sentai Season. Zenkaiger and Donbrothers also consider it the 46th. However, other material such as those created circa King-Ohger refers to it as the 47th team with Patranger's spot separating it from Lupinranger bumping every team after it one spot down.
• During the press conference, the main five Donbrothers were at one point jokingly named Avataro Sentai Donburies (暴太郎戦隊ドンブリーズ, Abatarō Sentai Donburīzu) in a gag PV. This would later be spun off into its own special.
