The Dekarangers are the 28th Super Sentai team forming a part of the Special Police Dekaranger, a police force who make sure that all aliens abide by intergalactic laws. There are Dekarangers from across the universe, but the most famous are the ones from SPD's Earth branch.

Devil's DekaBase

After the Dekarangers deletes Kulernian Jellyfis with Super Dekaranger Robo's Gattling Punch, they decided to go back to the DekaBase after knowing that their base was in danger. As they about to return by Riding Dekaranger Robo, Abtrex fired the missiles at them. Both Dekaranger Robo and DekaBike Robo then confronts Abtrex. Dekaranger Robo try to shoot Abtrex, but it is too powerful for them and breaks the Judgement Sword in half. Abrella then transforms the DekaBase in DekaBase Crawler. Initially, the Dekarangers think that Doggie has regained control of the DekaBase, only to be proven wrong as the DekaBase Crawler fires blasts at them. Abrella then changes the DekaBase Crawler into DekaBase Robo. The Dekarangers move towards it but Abtrex blocks their way. DekaBase Robo goes off to destroy the city while Dekaranger Robo and DekaBike Robo fight Abtrex. Abtrex knocks DekaBike Robo to the ground and sends a powerful blast at Dekaranger Robo. The Dekarangers are forced to evacuate as Dekaranger Robo is destroyed.

In the remains of DekaBase's former location on the ground, Tetsu found the Dekarangers under the rubble after escaping from the destruction of Dekaranger Robo. Jasmine then hangs the SP License, it was revealed that Doggie asks the Dekarangers to forget about his condition after being defeated by the Abrella's generals before he passes out. Commander Numa-O then contacts the Dekarangers, telling them about Abrella as he sent a whole fleet to the Earth which is turned against them, knowing that they are not capable of regaining control the DekaBase. Sen goes into his thinking pose and figures out that Swan has sent the Patrol Wings to the underground holding bay. The other Dekarangers follow him and retake the Patrol Wings.

DekaWing Robo and DekaBike Robo appears again to stop Abrella from destroying the city further. Reacting this, Abrella ordered Angorl to destroy both of their mechas. Once Abtrex was destroyed (along with Angorl), Abrella's generals then shoot the DekaWing Robo, but it dodges. As Abrella are about to destroy the DekaWing Robo with Volcanic Buster, suddenly Tetsu asks the Dekarangers to storm the DekaBase Robo, thus interrupting Abrella in process. Ban orders Tetsu to keep a hold onto DekaWing Robo while he and the other four Dekarangers storm the DekaBase and confront Abrella in DekaBase Robo's cockpit. Abrella seems unnerved and, with a press of a button, cancels the Dekarangers' DekaSuits, leaving them defenseless against his generals. Abrella's generals appears from their invisibility, then they thrown the Dekarangers to the hall and Abrella finally reveals his ultimate goal. While DekaWing Robo is attacked which made Tetsu became defenseless, Abrella's generals then attacks all the defenseless Dekarangers, with a fireball finally defeats them.Tvicon TV STORY-Episode. 49: Devil's DekaBase

At the DekaBase hall, the Dekarangers were initially overwhelmed by Uniga, as he attacks them with his Cross Burst power. Uniga then asks Sukeela to kill the Dekarangers with her blaster, but suddenly Murphy K9 appears to stop them from carrying forward, saving them on time. As Murphy K9 attacks Ganymede by biting him, the Dekarangers then shoots Sukeela and Uniga, prompting Uniga to fire blast at them, but dodges as they decided to split up and escapes. Seeing the Dekarangers escapes, Abrella decided to sent his generals to eliminate them. Jasmine is hiding from the Anaroids and a Batsuroid as she saw D-Swordbega that was left behind at the stairwell. She completely destroy both Anaroids and Batsuroids by shoot them with the sword. Sen and Jasmine decided to goes to the power station room. Once Sen and Jasmine were found, Sukeela then charges at them. Meanwhile, Umeko decided to use her bath time to trick Ganymede once the door slider opens, as Ban and Hoji sneak away from him. As Ban and Hoji escapes through stairwell, suddenly they were attacked by Uniga after appearing from his invisibility. Uniga then overpowers both men with the aid of Batsuroids, but Ban manages to escape by climbing to the platform as Hoji trying to disarm Uniga.

As the other Dekarangers are being attacked by Abrella's generals, Ban was able to sneak to the other side of the base and make it past a horde of Anaroids led by an Igaroid to make it to the ironworks section. There, he flipped a switch that diverted control of DekaBase away from the command center, freeing it from Abrella's control, causing Abrella's generals were distracted and the Dekarangers fight them back. Now having access to their DekaSuits, the Dekarangers transform and Ban asking Commander Numa-O to stop the fleet aid because the trap was set up by Abrella, thus cancels the DekaBase Robo, turning it back into the normal DekaBase. Ban eventually confronts Abrella at the cockpit and (quite literally) kicks him out of the DekaBase. His other generals are also being thrown out next to him by the other Dekarangers. The heroes perform their roll call and with their newfound spirit, then they goes into battle against Abrella's generals. Jasmine and Umeko battles against Sukeela, Hoji and Sen battles against Ganymede, Tetsu battles against Uniga, and Ban battles against Abrella. The Dekarangers eventually deletes Abrella's generals. After his generals were deleted, Abrella is about to advance against Ban, but he crippled him with his Hybrid Magnum, leaving Abrella unable to escape. Ban judges Abrella for the destruction of galaxies and committing the mass murders by instigating the interplanetary wars and is found guilty.

Abrella boasts that there will always be evil and crime in the universe, but Ban contradict that statement, telling him that he believes that everyone has the capacity to do good so his ilk can never flourish. Murphy K9 then reappears and then forms the D-Bazooka, completely deletes Abrella. Abrella then curses the Dekarangers before finally being blown apart. After the battle was over, the Dekarangers is feeling sad and began crying as Doggie is yet to be found. Once Doggie is still alive, it was revealed that Doggie finally appears with Swan as he congratulates the Dekarangers for their victory over Abrella, then they hugs him. Doggie then declares the case completed, and the Dekarangers then celebrate and rejoices for their victory.Tvicon TV STORY-Episode. 50: Forever Dekaranger

Gokaiger

Years later, the Space Empire Zangyack invaded Earth. This threat was so great that all of the first 34 Super Sentai, including the Earth Dekarangers, were needed to oppose them. The 34 Sentai put up a valiant fight against the ground forces, but when the Zangyack fleet itself attacked them, Akarenger told everyone to combine their powers and save the Earth. This destroyed the Zangyack fleet and resulted in the loss of their powers, which resurfaced as Ranger Keys, that were dispersed throughout the universe.

The keys were collected by AkaRed, and later utilized by the 35th Super Sentai, the Gokaigers, a group of five people from different planets who came to Earth in search of the Greatest Treasure in the Universe. Tvicon TV STORY-Ep. 1: The Space Pirates Appear Captain Marvelous visited the police station Marika worked at, asking where the Greatest Treasure in the Universe was located while following Navi's hint that "when you are looking for something you should go see the police". A police officer recognized him from a wanted poster, and Jasmine subsequently arrested Marvelous. Marvelous recognized her uniform and deduced she was from Space Police. After asking if she was after the bounty as well, thinking that the Space Police were now Zangyack's "little dog", she denied it. The rest of the Gokaigers escaped while Marvelous fought off her and several officers and made his escape.

Marika contacted Doggie who intercepted and confronted Marvelous. Marvelous kicked the Master License out of his hand, Doggie drew out D-Swordbega and engaged him, Marvelous fought him off even with handcuffs still on. Before Kruger brought Captain Marvelous in, they accidentally stumbled into a Zangyack scheme overseen by the Alienizer Buramudo to launch Subterranean Missiles to destroy every city on Earth in two hours. When their presence was discovered, Kruger was wounded as he managed to get Captain Marvelous out of harm's way. Though Captain Marvelous offered to help him, Kruger refused to trust the pirate as he left him behind to stop the missile launch regardless of his injuries. Realizing how injured his captor was, Captain Marvelous saved the alien from the potential suicide mission and took him to safety. With Captain Marvelous's sense of honor against all odds winning his trust, Kruger uncuffed the pirate and handed him back his Mobirates.

Marvelous united with his teammates and destroyed the missile launching device in time before reuniting with his crew. Together, they changed into the Dekarangers and defeated Buramudo. When Buramudo was enlarged, GokaiOh was formed to stop him from manually launching the one of the Subterranean Missiles, taking out some of the Zangyack fleet in the process. Kruger told the Gokaigers they could now summon the Greater Power of the Dekarangers. Using the Dekaranger Keys, they summon the Pat Striker from within GokaiOh. They were soon able to finish off Buramudo after an intense gunfight. The next morning, the Gokaigers escorted a wounded Kruger when they were cornered by a police barricade. However, Officer Banban Akaza suddenly appeared and notified the alleged acts of piracy by the Gokaigers were proven to be a hoax instigated by the Zangyack Empire. The pirates were free to go as he took Kruger, but with a warning not to abuse the powers of the Dekarangers. Tvicon TV STORY-Ep. 5: Judgement Pirates

Later, during the return of the Black Cross King, Umeko was one of several Super Sentai warriors who gave their support to the Gokaigers and Goseigers. Etymology

  • The team's name comes from the Japanese police jargon for a detective (でか deka). It also comes from the prefix "deca-", referring to the ten overall Dekarangers that showed up during the original series's run.
  • Like Tsuruhime of the Kakurangers, Boukengers, Ninningers, and Kiramagers, the majority of the Dekarangers' surnames are derived from the names of real-life people. In this case, the Dekarangers' names are largely derived from given names of largely notable Western novelists in the detective fiction genre, with a few Japanese novelists. Only Swan and Gyoku are not named after a novelist; if Lisa is supposed to be named after a novelist, her name is too generic to distinguish it.
    • Banban Akaza: British detective fiction writer Dame Agatha Christie (アガサ・クリスティ Agasa Kurisuti), who is known for creating the characters Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple.
    • Houji Tomasu: American suspense writer Thomas Harris (トマス・ハリス Tomasu Harisu), who is best known for the Hannibal Lector series.
    • Senichi Enari: Ellery Queen (エラリー・クイーン Enarī Kuīn), a pseudonym used by American detective fiction writer duo Frederic Dannay and Manfred Bennington Lee, who also use "Ellery Queen" as a character.
    • Marika Reimon: American detective fiction writer Raymond Chandler (レイモンド・チャンドラー Reimondo Chandorā), who penned The Big Sleep.
    • Koume Kodou: Shōwa-era Japanese novelist Kodou Nomura (野村 胡堂 Nomura Kodō), who created the character Zenigata Heiji. Heiji then inspired Koichi Zenigata from Lupin III.
    • Tekkan Aira: American novelist, playwright, and songwriter Ira Levin (アイラ・レヴィン Aira Revin), who wrote A Kiss Before Dying.
    • Doggie Kruger: American crime novelist William Kent Krueger (ウィリアム・K・クルーガー Wiriamu Kento Kurūgā), who penned the Cork O'Conner books.
    • Assam Asimov: acclaimed Russian science fiction author Issac Asimov, who is considered among the three biggest pioneers of the genre alongside his peers Robert A. Heinlein and Arthur C. Clarke.
    • Mugi Grafton: American detective author Sue Grafton, who wrote the "alphabet" mystery series, so named due to each book following a letter theme (e.g., A Is For Alibi).
    • Rui Edogawa: Taishō-era Japanese novelist and critic Edogawa Ranpo (江戸川 乱歩), who is known as the pioneer of the mystery and thriller genres in Japan and the creator of the character Kogoro Akechi.
    • Ten Haretsuki: American detective fiction author Sara Paretsky (サラ・パレツキ Sara Paretsukī), who is known for creating the fictional character V. I. Warshawski.
  • In a departure for naming schemes in the entire franchise, the majority of the Dekarangers follow a food-based naming theme. Specifically, their various names, either nicknames or parts of their real names, are derived from different types of tea, with only Swan and the stageshows DekaReds not being named after any type of tea.
    • Ban: Bancha.
    • Hoji: Hōjicha.
    • Sen-chan: Sencha.
    • Jasmine: Jasmine tea.
    • Umeko: Plum tea (梅茶 Umecha).
    • Gyoku Rou: Gyokuro (玉露).
    • Tetsu: the first kanji in Tieguanyin tea ((テツ)観音茶 Kannon-cha).
    • Mary Gold: Marigold tea.
    • Lisa: Her surname contains the English word Tea (ティー ).
    • Assam: Assam tea.
    • Mugi: Barley tea (麦茶 Mugicha).
    • Rui & Boss: Rooibus tea (ルイボス Ruibosu-cha).
    • Ten: Sweet tea ( Tencha).

Legend Sentai Devices

The Tokuso Sentai Dekaranger Ranger Keys (特捜戦隊デカレンジャーレンジャーキー Tokusō Sentai Dekarenjā Renjā Kī) are what became of the Dekarangers' powers after they along with the rest of the 34 Super Sentai sacrificed their powers to end the Great Legend War.

Any of these keys allow a Gokaiger to assume the form of any of the Dekarangers or summon the Pat Striker from within GokaiOh to become Deka GokaiOh. Note: The DekaRed Key is first used by Gokai Green in Epic on Ginmaku.

  • DekaRed Key (デカレッドキー Deka Reddo Kī)
  • DekaBlue Key (デカブルーキー Deka Burū Kī)
  • DekaGreen Key (デカグリーンキー Deka Gurīn Kī)
  • DekaYellow Key (デカイエローキー Deka Ierō Kī)

Dekaranger Ressha

Dekaranger Ressha

The Legend Sentai Ressha (レジェンド戦隊レッシャー Rejendo Sentai Ressha) are Ressha based on the mecha, specifically those belonging to the Red heroes, of the ToQgers' preceding Super Sentai teams. They can form a unique combination of ToQ-Oh reminiscent of past Sentai Robos by switching with Red Ressha. The ToQChanger toy is shown to have sounds for Legend Ressha of all 37 previous Sentai.

Dekaranger Ressha (デカレンジャーレッシャー Dekarenjā Ressha) - Appears as an SG Ressha. The actual ToQ Ressha is likely based off of DekaRed's personal vehicle Pat Striker; should it replace RedRessha in ToQ-Oh, it would most likely form ToQ-Oh Dekaranger Robo.

Notes

  • Counting DekaGold and DekaBright, this is the only Ranger team to have an even ratio between males and females. Not even Dekarangers' Power Rangers equivalent has this distinction due to the absence of any equivalent for DekaGold.
    • Because of this, the Dekarangers have the most amount of females on their team at five.
